A Dark Elf in the Book of Lost Tales.
He’s an elf who found the first men asleep before the sun rose! He accidentally woke them up and took responsibility and taught them how to talk and how the world works. They call him the Father of Speech, in the very early draft he inhabits. Still canon in my heart, you go you random Avar.
Faramir (son of Ondoher):
The younger son of King Ondoher of Gondor, killed in battle along with his father and older brother. Also a character in Lord of the Rings Online.

OK no I can wax poetical on Faramir I Son of Ondoher because his is a tragedy that sets in motion the end of the Kings of Gondor (for an age or two. idk on specific but). Faramir I second son of Ondoher is not content to stay at home, doing his duty, following orders etc. etc. because he LOVES his dad and his big brother SO much. And the thing is, he really really shouldn't go. Hindsight 20/20 and all that but if he leaves there is NO ONE who can take the throne from his dad's direct line (because the Gondorian Council are punks and decide his cool sister Firiel and her extremely cool husband Arvedui can't have it on account of [handwaves] honestly). But the armies they're facing off against are serious business! They're really outmatching Gondor here. They straight up already fought his grandfather King Calimehtar, iand are back for round 2. So what does precious Faramir (I) do? He pulls the OG Eowyn, babey (and let's not forget parallels, PARALLELS about following your father (figure) and brother to war, right? she marries the NAMESAKE of this guy, incredibly cool mirroring here) and gets a disguise and rides with the Rohirrim-before-Eorl (some adaptations call this the Eotheod) to go help. Here's where things get EXTRA angsty HIS FATHER AND BROTHER ARE DEAD. He doesn't know because he's with the Eotheod, but like. The Wainriders killed them. And the Eotheod does help rout the rest of them and eventually, Earnil II future Throne-thief (but it's not his fault) gets the final victory BUT not before sweet noble Faramir is run through with a spear by the chieftain of the Wainriders and DIES IN THE ARMS OF A COMMANDER OF THE EOTHEOD. Like. That's a specific detail we have. Blorbo Blorbamir at LEAST didn't die alone and was discovered to be the prince there. So. Mr. Horse Leader gets to give the news to everyone about the poor guy that died in his arms being the son of the king. But oops! The King and brother are already dead so. Technically the King of Gondor died in his arms. What a day for him, right? Anyway this is still about Faramir who (in the LoTRO adaptation) feels such guilt that he HANGS AROUND AS A GHOST REGRETTING HIS CONTRIBUTION TO THE DOWNFALL OF GONDOR. Tragicest blorbo. Regret. How I feel about this character
Elladan. I love both of Elronds sons unconditionally. They're wonderful, interesting, compelling characters. Elladan I like maybe a little bit more than his twin brother.
Nuin. 100/10. I love this man. He is so interesting to me because of his involvement with the first men and his general story. He's my son and you can pry him from my cold dead hands.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
No-one for both of them. Elladan is somewhere on the aroace spectrum for me while I have had the idea of Nuin having a wife but I disregarded that one quickly. He just doesn't seem to be that kind of person.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
For Elladan, both of his siblings as well as Aragorn and Legolas. I cannot make a decision here. He is kind of like Finrod a person with a lot of friends and a lot of love for those friends.
For Nuin, all of his first awakened men. He just basically raised them all ok? He taught them everything they knew and you cannot convince me that he didn't have a close connection to them.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I don't like the idea of Elladan choosing a mortal life. I have very strong feelings against this this Headcanon. I just don't want anymore tragic things to happen?
All the Nuin takes I know are my own so there are no opinions on him I disagree with lol
One thing I wish would happen / had happened to this character in canon
That Elladan and Elrohir had found their mother sooner and that Celebrian could have been saved. I just want that ok?
And for Nuin? That he survived and that he could maybe guide menkind for more generations onwards. Maybe him and Finrod meeting and bonding over their friendship with the edain?

The wizard Túvo told Nuin that the sleepers he had found were the new children of Ilúvatar and that they were waiting for light. He forbade any of the elves to wake them or visit those places, being frightened of the wrath of Ilúvatar, but despite this Nuin went there often and watched, sitting on a rock. Once he stumbled against a sleeper, who stirred but did not wake. At last, overcome by curiosity, he awakened two, named Ermon and Elmir, they were dumb* and very much afraid but he taught them much of the Ilkorin tongue, for which reason he is called Nuin Father of Speech.

*dumb = without language, apparently the men woke without the concept of language and needed someone, in this case Nuin, to teach them.
Honestly Nuin is such a fascinating character to me and I just love the concept of him coming across the still sleeping children of men and that he, despite the fact that his king forbade him and his people to go to them, still went back to watch them. He must have been truly fascinated by the aspect of there being new children of Ilúvatar soon and that he would be able to interact with them. And when he wakes up Ermon and Elmir he realises that they need his help and he teaches them language.
I like to think that he took on a father-role for the earlier generations of men, which might be also because the first men awoke as literal children, not quite teenagers. Nuin must have felt very protective of them, in a way that he didn't just teach them how to speak but also how to hunt, build weapons and shelter - how to survive essentially and that he only stops doing so because he died in the end. This also pairs nicely with my headcanon of him having a wife and a child at some point who both died prior to these events.
Although he gets forgotten by history and doesn't even get the credit he deserves I like to think that Nuin remains a myth amongst men that somehow survived until the Third Age, maybe as a nursery rhyme?
The origin story of the secondborn in general is super fascinating and I really really want to explore this unknown time a lot more in the future.

More Cuivienen elves my life is complete. Seriously they're like my biggest obsession at the moment. More Cuivienen and Avari content please?
So Nuin according to the Tolkien Gateway (because I don't have the HoME or the Book of Lost Tales) he is one of the dark elves from the lands of Palisor and as you might have guessed an Avari. He discovered the sleeping men in the Vale of Sleep and wandered amongst them, by accident he woke up the first pair of them two boys named Ermon and Elmir. He taught them and possibly everyone else how to speak, thus earning him the title Father of Speech. He dies later on in a battle when I think either Ermon or Elmir betray him, I don't really remember the details.
As for my own takes on him I actually plan to make a post at the end of the week for Tolkienocweek but as far as something random goes I think he would've been one of the greatest loremasters amongst the elves if he ever made it as far as Beleriand or even Valinor. He is just a very smart and intelligent man, who can pick up information easily.
