DIY Concrete Creations You'll Love
I've gathered together a few of my Favourite concrete DIY projects and here I give you a quick run through. Check it out!
Fridge Magnets
How cute are these! Choose a mould with the shape you want your magnets to be (try an ice cube tray with fun shapes) Pour in your concrete, place the magnets on top and wait for it to dry.
Clock
Similar to the magnets, choose your mould that will be your clock shape, pour in the concrete and attach the clock mechanisms and there you have it!
Framed Decorations
Got an empty spot on your side table or wall? Why not create your own art! Find a mould with an interesting shape (here they’ve used a skull) pour the concrete in, let it dry take it out and attach to foam or cardboard and frame it.
Door Handles
Aren’t these sweet! To create these they used a rubber love heart ice tray, You can also paint them to let them really stand out.
Wall Hook
Need somewhere to hang your coat or hat at the end of the day? Here’s a cool idea. Same deal, choose your mould (they’ve used a light bulb), pour your concrete in, let it dry and in this case the best way is to smash the glass to get your mould out. Using glass gives you a really nice smooth finish.
Cheeseboard/ Cuttingboard
For this one I suggest you use a plastic mould or an old baking tray, line your mould with canola oil to make it easy to get the board out once it’s set. Sand down any rough edges and give your board a coat of bees wax to make it food safe.Remember it is breakable! and it can be heavy however not as heavy as marble or slate.
Table Numbers
Got an event coming up? why not jazz up your table with these cool table numbers. To make these you’ll need paper mache numbers, concrete and spray paint if you want to paint yours.
Ipad Stand
This is a very clever design, made using a popcorn box! Your tablet will be quite happy sitting here.
Book Ends Option 1
Concrete being heavy is perfect for creating book ends. This diamond one was made using a cardboard mould, once set simply peel off the cardboard. Pretty cool.
Book Ends Option 2
This book end was created using what looks like a empty Ferrero Rocher plastic container which they’ve added in a monogram letter into the concrete.
Book Ends Option 3
Another concrete book end idea using letters. For this they’ve used fibreboard letters as the moulds.
Concrete Lighting Idea 1
Concrete is the perfect material for a lamp base, its heavy and very sturdy. You can make your lamp base any size or shape you like.
Concrete Lighting Idea 2
Made using an empty plastic bottle this pendant light is so simple yet very effective.
Concrete Lighting Idea 3
Another simple yet very effective lighting idea.
Concrete Lighting Idea 4
Wanting something super modern? This light fitting was made using concrete and metallic tubes.
Concrete Lighting Idea 5
This pendant has a gorgeous shape and texture and so easy to create.
Concrete Lighting Idea 6
