"I can't believe you still have this old thing," Cena held up a pair of familiar trousers, looking them over. "Split a seam again, I see." She grinned, and Ziminder laughed, rubbing the back of his neck.
It wasn't her best work, not anymore, but it clearly served its purpose. "I suppose you want me to fix it for you? Or maybe I should make you a new one? It's not like I have a lot going on these days."
"I'm kind of attached to it," Zim admitted, running his fingers along the gray material of the costume Imperial Officer uniform. It was not, he understood, much like the actual thing. It was only fabric, where the real thing had armor built in. She'd made it years ago, when he and her brother in law were closer. He missed those days...
"Give me a day or two, it'll be as good as new. These officer bars are kind of sloppy, are you sure you don't want me to replace them?" Cena gathered up the jacket, folding it over her arm.
"Altan made up an entire rank to fit them, and I'm kind of still attached to that too." He knew they wouldn't pass muster in the actual Imperial Navy, but he liked the colors, if only because they were unconventional. First Major Captain Antilles. He still laughed at how ridiculous it sounded.
"I miss them too," Cena said quietly. "Nothing...is quite the same anymore. But I'm glad you're feeling better." She smiled, and after a moment, Zim returned it. "Have a drink on the house while you're here, Charl'iee won't mind. A lot of people tend to show up and spend money when you visit."
“I’ll never turn down a free drink,” Zim winked and sat down at the bar. “And thank you for keeping the uniform looking as good as it does. It means a lot.”
“Yeah, well I figure I owed you after scaring you half to d--”
“Please, don’t mention it.”
And for once, Cena didn’t.
