Just got this email from Tumblr about this demo blog turning 3 on February 11, 2018. 

As I mentioned in this post, I’ve been really busy, so I’ve been on a very long hiatus from Tumblr. This is why I haven’t been able to post this before. But now I’m trying to be more active here again.

I’d like to be able to publish all the articles on the drafts page of all my Tumblr blogs as well as post the emails I’ve received about all the achievements and milestones my Tumblr blogs have gotten.

One of the things that I’ve been busy working on was creating and making more Tumblr themes. In this post about Fiorella’s second birthday, I talked about working on a new Tumblr theme, which I’d hoped to be able to finish soon.

The theme I’m talking about in that post is actually Clarent. I’ve just finished working on it, and it is now available for sale on Gumroad.

Clarent comes with a fixed sidebar, sidebar slider, fixed footer bar widget, and a whole lot more options and features. It supports Tumblr’s new Related Posts and Highlighted Posts features as well as Tumblr’s built-in audio and video players.

Text Options In Fiorella Tumblr Theme

Here’s an explanation of the many text options that are available in the Fiorella Tumblr Theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down until you see the following:

Just leave the textboxes blank if you don’t want to display these features.

No Search Results Text - refers to text that shows up on the search results page when users are trying to find something on your blog and they can’t find anything.

These are all for the cookie notice banner widget that shows up on the lower right side of your blog. The Cookie Notice URL can link to your cookie policy page or your privacy policy page.

Google Analytics ID - paste your Google Analytics ID on the provided textbox to track your traffic and get more data and info about your blog.

Exif Data Text - refers to the text that shows up before the exif data info on photo posts. Check out this post for an example.

Disqus Shortname - enter the shortname for your blog to use the Disqus commenting system.

The Comments Heading and Comments Content can look like this:

Header Widget Content, Post Widget Content, Sidebar Widget Content, and Header Bar Widget Content - you can add text, javascript, ads, etc here. Check the demo blog to see examples.

Footer Col 1 Heading and Footer Col 2 Heading - refers to the heading for the footer section of your blog.

Footer Col 1 Content and Footer Col 2 Content - refers to the content of the footer section of your blog.

RSS Link - if you’re not using Tumblr’s built-in RSS feed for your blog, use this to add your own RSS link.

Use the Ask Text Link and Ask URL if you don’t want to use the default ask page of your blog.

Tags Button Text and Menu Button Text - refers to the text for these buttons:

Tagline - refers to the text that shows up right below your blog title.

Text Widget Button and Text Widget Content - refers to this:

Subscribe Link - refers to the link to the Google Feedburner feed that’s associated with your blog.

Check the demo blog to see how the Subscribe widget looks like.

This is for the Tumblr likes and Tumblr follows widget.

Blog Title On Hover - refers to the text that shows up when you hover your mouse on the title of your blog. Check the demo blog to see an example.

Background Image Opacity - if you’re using a background image on your blog and you think it looks too dark and it’s hard to read the text on top of the image, then use this feature. Increase or decrease your background image’s opacity according to your specifications/needs.

Paragraph Spacing - the size is in pixels. This allows you to control the amount of space between paragraphs. If you think the text is too close to each other, then increase the spacing, otherwise, decrease it.

Tag 1-5 and Tag List - this is for the featured tags widget. Type the name of the tag you want to feature on your blog.

Tag 1 URL-Tag 5 URL and Tag List URL -  paste the URL link that corresponds with the tags you entered in Tag 1-5 and Tag List.

Footer Height and Mobile Footer Height - refers to the height of the footer. Change the number according to what you want your blog’s footer height to be.

Carousel Pic URL 1-5 - refers to the URL link of the image of the post you’re featuring on the header part of your blog.

Carousel Heading 1-5 - refers to the title of the post you’re featuring on the header part of your blog.

Carousel Caption 1-5 - refers to the short snippet, caption or summary of the post you’re featuring on the header part of your blog.

The Twitter Link up to Odnoklassniki Link refer to the links to your accounts on these sites. Check the demo blog for examples.

Toggle Options In Fiorella Tumblr Theme Part 2

Here’s a detailed explanation on each of the toggle options in the Fiorella Tumblr theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down until you see the image featured above.

To turn the feature on, toggle the button to the right (blue). To turn it off, toggle the button to the left (gray).

Show All Social Icons - refers to the social media follow icons like Google+, Instagram, YouTube, etc. If you turn it on, it will look like this:

Just click on the plus sign to see all the available social media follow buttons.

If you turn it off, it will look like this:

If you don’t want to display the remaining social media icons like Twitter, Pinterest, etc, just leave the textboxes that correspond to these icons blank.

Show Social Icons Heading - refers to the heading for the social media follow buttons. See the pics above for an example.

Show Menu - refers to this:

Show Text Widget - refers to this:

Just click on the Notes (wording can be changed) button to open the popover that displays the text widget.

Show Subscribe Widget - invite readers/visitors to your blog to subscribe via email, so they’ll get an e-mail message every time you update your blog. Check the demo blog for an example.

Show Tumblr Follows, Show Tumblr Likes - these features show up on the sidebar (on bigger screens) or header (on smaller screens) section of your blog alongside the other items like the Featured Tags, Search, etc. Enabling Follows will show a list of the Tumblr blogs that you follow while Likes will show a list of posts that you like.

Show Featured Tags - you can display up to 6 featured tags. Check out the demo blog to see an example.

Show Archive Link, Show Random Link - these refer to the links located in the menu section of your blog. Check the demo blog for an example.

Toggle Options In Fiorella Tumblr Theme Part 1

Here’s a detailed explanation on each of the toggle options in the Fiorella Tumblr theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down until you see the image featured above.

To turn the feature on, toggle the button to the right (blue). To turn it off, toggle the button to the left (gray).

Show Cookie Notice Banner - this will display a short notice on the lower right side of your blog, telling people that your blog uses cookies. You can customize the text of the notice including the colors. Check the demo blog to see an example.

Show Audio Track Info - turning this feature on will display additional information on audio posts (if available). This includes Track Name, Artist Name and Album Name. For example, check out the sample audio post on the demo blog here.

Show Caption Titles - this feature makes the first line of photo, panorama and photoset posts look like a title. Use this if you want all of your posts to have titles. For example, if turned on, it can look like this:

If turned off, it will look like this:

Use Default Pagination - the default looks like this:

The alternative to that is the jump pagination and it looks like this:

Show Header Widget, Show Sidebar Widget -  you can put whatever you want in these widgets including text, polls, codes, javascript, ads and more. Check the demo blog for an example.

Show Carousel - this shows up at the top of your blog before your posts. You can display up to 5 slides. Check the demo blog for an example.

Autoplay Carousel - if toggled on, the carousel will move on its own. If turned off, people will have to click on the next and previous buttons to see all the slides.

Show Blog Group Members - this will display the members or authors that are part of your blog. Check the demo blog for an example.

Show Search - turn this feature on to allow your readers/visitors to search your blog. If enabled, it will look like this:

Just click on the search button to display the search box.

Select Options In Fiorella Tumblr Theme

Here’s an explanation of the select options that are available in the Fiorella Tumblr Theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down a bit until you see the following:

Exif Data

This can only be found on photo posts if the pic has the info available

Includes info like Camera, Aperture, Exposure, Focal Length, and ISO

You can either “Show” or “Hide” this feature

If you select “Show,” you’ll be able to see the exif data by hovering your mouse over a pic that has the info

Tagline

This refers to the short text that shows up below your blog title

You can either “Show” or “Hide” this feature

For example:

Post Widget

You can either “Show” or “Hide” this feature

If you choose “show,” you’ll be able to see this widget at the end of your posts

This only shows up on post permalink pages

For example:

Footer Col 1 and Footer Col 2

You can either “Show” or “Hide” this feature

The Fiorella theme’s footer is divided into 2 columns

You can choose to show one or both of these columns

Font Options In Fiorella Tumblr Theme

Here’s an explanation of the many font options that are available in the Fiorella Tumblr Theme:

First, access the theme options page of your blog. Scroll down a bit until you see the following:

The Quote and Quote Source for the quote posts use Tumblr’s built-in fonts. Just choose the one you want from the list. For an example, you can check out the sample quote post on the demo blog here.

Blog Title Font, Title Font, and Body Font all use Google Fonts. You can find more information about using Google Fonts here.

The Title Font refers to the font for the post titles while the Body Font refers to the font for the rest of your blog. For examples, check out the demo blog.

All the font sizes are in pixels. Change them depending on how small or big you want them to be.

Tagline Font Size - refers to the short text that shows up below your blog title. For example:

Body Font Size - refers to the font size of the text of your posts.

Menu Font Size - refers to this:

Color Options In Fiorella Tumblr Theme

On the Fiorella Tumblr theme, you can change the colors of various parts of your blog. Here’s a more detailed explanation on each of these color options and which part of your blog they correspond to:

Hover Color - refers to the color of links when you hover your mouse over them. Check the demo blog for an example.

Body Font Color - refers to the font color of the body part of your blog such as your posts. Check out the demo blog for an example.

Post Box Color - refers to the background color of the post box. Check out the demo blog to see an example.

Appearance Options Of Fiorella Tumblr Theme

The above pic shows the appearance options of the Fiorella Tumblr theme. To find these options, go to the theme options page of your blog. Here are the meanings/explanations for each of these options:

Title - the title of your blog. For example:

On big screens, this will show up on the left side of your blog. On smaller screens, it will show up on the header part of your blog.

Title Color - the color of the title of your blog. In the above pic, the blog title color is a shade of pink.

Title Font - use this to set the font family (all the fonts offered by Tumblr) and font weight (bold or normal) of your blog title.

Show Title - if you want to hide your blog title, make sure this is toggled to off.

Description - the description of your blog. For example:

Click on the About button and a popover will show up, displaying your blog description.

Show Description - toggle this option to off if you want to hide your blog description.

Header Image - use this feature if you want a background pic for your blog. Check out the demo blog for an example. Just click on the camera icon to upload your own image.

Show Header Image - toggle this option to off if you want to set a background color instead of a background image for your blog.

Avatar - this pic can be yourself or the icon of your blog or anything else you want it to be. It shows up on the left side of the blog title as you can see below:

Avatar Shape - the shape of your avatar can be either square or circle. The pic above shows the circle version. The square version looks like this:

Show Avatar - toggle this option to off to hide your avatar pic.

Background Color - use this to change the background color of your blog. Ignore this option if you want to use an image for the background of your blog.

Accent Color - this refers to the color of links.
