"AMY WINEHOUSE"
by Mr Cenz
Buying her first guitar at age 14, and inspired by girl groups of the '60s like the Ronettes, Amy Winehouse spent the next 13 years increasingly battling personal turmoil while touching the world with her talent. In 2017 the Jewish Museum in Camden Town, London, asked some of the city's top street artists to participate in creating a trail of murals as tribute to Winehouse and a means of exploring her impact on her hometown. Mr Cenz has been painting on London's walls for three decades since discovering graffiti in the late '80s. His work has been described as “surrealist graffiti art for the soul” and increasingly focused on female faces—often "unique interpretations of strong and spiritual women"—leading Jewish Museum to invite Cenz to create this prominent vision of Amy on Lidlington Place near Harrington Square. @mrcenzone/ @jewishmuseumldn/

MEETING OF STYLES HOUSTON, 2016
by Mr Cenz
2018 marks 30 years since Mr Cenz says he discovered hip-hop culture and began “scribbling on surfaces.” After a few early brushes with the law he committed to refining his art and finding a way to work legally. Mr Cenz is based in London, but his distinctive style makes him a hit around the world and in 2016 he was in Houston participating in a 15th Anniversary celebration of Meeting of Styles (MOS)—an urban art movement begun in Wiesbaden, Germany, but now bring a global community of artists and graffiti writers together for events around the world. Mr Cenz’ wall was painted at W Little York Rd, overlooking the city’s White Oak Bayou Greenway Trail. @mrcenzone/ @int_meetingofstyles/

WYNWOOD, MIAMI
by Mr. June and Mr Cenz (with Love Pusher)
London artist Mr Cenz says he's been scribbling on surfaces since discovering hip-hop and graffiti in the 80s. He completed his first commissioned mural at age 11 and eventually set up his own company, Positive Arts. His work now focuses more on female faces than graffiti, but he still incorporates the same spontaneous abstractions and energy that have always defined his work, and led it to be described as "surrealist graffiti art for the soul." In Wynwood, Miami in 2015 he collaborated on this NW 1st Place wall with Love Pusher (who's work is hidden on the lower-left) and Amsterdam artist David Louf, aka Mr. June. Louf tried his hand at advertising in 2000 and quickly realized he was not cut out for the world of big business. Making a career out of his art has not always been easy but eventually University of the Arts Utrecht recognized his colorful and multidimensional work and invited him to teach the next generation while perfecting his unique take on graffiti, graphic design, and abstract art. @mrcenzone @davidjunelouf @lovepusher @scenesfromthesidewalk
