1. What's your OC's favorite cuddling position?

Mary: When the person she's cuddling is laying atop her. The combination of their weight + no pinned limbs + easy access to playing with their hair is perfect in her mind.

Emil: The spoonwich. Spoon is nice, but being in the middle is their favorite and they melt a bit. Bonus points if Jack flings himself over the spooning trio

2. What's their favorite comfort food that they eat when they're sad?

21. What's their dream date like?

(Answering this one in terms of the modern au~)

Mary: Her dream date would involve doing some sort of activity she and her partner(s) doing together, such as snorkeling or attending a craft fair, and then having a nice dinner at her favorite sit-down restaurant, followed up with driving somewhere where they can do a bit of stargazing :3

Emil: To absolutely no one's surprise, it'd be an aquarium date, including a gift store visit. And then a nice dinner somewhere, nothing terribly fancy. Follow that up with a walk on the beach to see the sunset or some cuddling while watching the sunset and you have a happy demigod.

Her angry side. When pushed to her limit, she can get scary angry--not the loud, screaming kind, but the cold, quiet kind that makes people wonder if they should start fearing for their lives.

And she hates that her anger manifests in such a way. She would rather be a screaming mess.

🙊 SPEAK-NO-EVIL - what is something your oc will refuse to stay quiet about?

How bloody dysfunctional the family is and how their treatment of the kids should have them all thrown in jail (their treatment of Jack treatment, especially). She, too, grew up constantly being compared to other family members, being pitted against them, and being used as target practice while never managing to be enough. And she hates that the younger generations have to go through that as well.

Modern!AU Auntie has definitely made some 'anonymous' CPS calls.

🙉 HEAR-NO-EVIL - what is the worse thing your oc could hear from someone?

That she's, in any way, shape, or form, similar to her mother (Grandmama)

Or

That her beloved nephew is dead/trapped in Davy Jones' locker (even if it was his own doing)

Hello, Maggie~!

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)? 

For Emil, it was their color palette, weirdly enough 😂 Back when I was a wee Moosie, I thought to myself 'You know what would be fun? A pirate with an earth-based color palette'. And...It just kind of stuck. I've added some purples, blues, and greys to them over the years, but over all, Emil is a nice green-brown color scheme.

For Mary, it was her name and occupation (the latter of which has since changed). As mentioned before, she started off as what was supposed to be a one-off rp character, but she has since grown into so much more 💚

6. Is there any significance behind their eye color? 

For Emil, yes--her eyes are the main thing that tell you that something isn't wholly normal about them, as they're always the same shade as the ocean.

For Mary, not really, aside from brown eyes are big purdy :3

11. Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation? 

For Emil...no. Because I was only 13 and didn't really know what sexuality was back in 2003. It would take until I was about 20 to realize that Emil was bi and only within the last couple of years I realized they were also poly.

For Mary, yes and no. The bi part I knew right away, but the poly part took a little while~

11. What's the easiest way to annoy your character?

Hmm...When people are snobby about things. This happens mostly when they're having to be Lord/Lady Traharne and dealing with the aristocracy rather than Captain Drystan, so it thankfully it doesn't happen very often~

But, when it does....and they hear someone say things like 'Ugh, I can't believe you'd eat something like that' or 'Can you believe such-and-such wore [object]?', it just flips a switch in their mind and they go from being calm, laid back Emil to...

Hello there~!

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

To be honest, when I first made Emil, they were a self-insert, so their name is just the masculine form of Emily. But as they got tweaked and changed over the years, I couldn't bear to change it. Emil was just...Emil. Any other name felt wrong with them. But I did change their birth name from Emily to Emilianna to fit the naming scheme her mother and stepfather used with their kids (names ending in 'a').

16. Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?

Sadly, the only places I really get to talk about Mary is here on tumblr and on the oc discord, so I'm afraid I haven't really gotten the chance to think about memes or jokes that could be associated with her. 🥲

Though, in the midst of typing this answer, I did think of one meme that works for her: The old 'Do he got the booty? He doooOOoo' meme fits her, because she is an appreciator of Fine Booties.
