“Philip”

This piece was another for my independent study, but I actually got to finish this one long before COVID. I was studying pattern and texture within the realm of ceramics. So I decided to cover him in different types of designs using different techniques. Some are carved into the piece and some are painted on. This was the first and last piece I got to experiment with the sand blaster. It gives it a rough and yet smooth texture which was fun to play with.

“Crayons” - “Marshmallow” - “Vase is Das”

A little different then my facepots, these were an exploration of texture, repetitive pattern and non-traditional documentation. “Crayons” explored texture as well as the addition of color. “Marshmallow” actually dried out to much so I couldn't add on without it falling off so instead of adding I took away.  “Vase is Das” I explored with the shape as well as the carving.
