This weekend is going to be a food fest and I can't wait! We're meeting friends on Saturday for my favourite - Sushi, and on Sunday Steve and I are taking a virtual holiday to the Côtes-du-Rhône with a wine tasting, selection of French cheeses, some Pastis, a game of Mille Bornes, a themed playlist (no doubt with Air, Daft Punk, Stereolab) a French film (probably Amélie but I fancy Delicatessen) and maybe Moules Marinière. Thank you to everyone who sent such heartfelt condolences on the passing of Eva this week. It really helped to receive such kindness during a very difficult time. Alongside taking Jeanie on lots of long woodland walks, I'm also back in the studio finding solace in creatively distracting myself. These hand made ceramic rose earrings have been queued on my desk for a couple of weeks, waiting to make their way in the world. Thanks to @little_mouse_pottery for carefully firing my pottery pink rose cabochons and also thanks to @fancifuldevices for the salvaged tin cone bead concept - I love how they hang from the Lyre Harp hammered brass hoops. They're decorated with raw prehnite semi precious stones which have a gentle, calming green hue. I've got a little obsession with roses, of the Grandma variety. I think you might know what I mean: rose scented soaps and bath salts, tiny roses on wallpaper and draw lining paper, on tea cups, pinafores, tea towels, scented writing paper and greeting cards. I love that roses remind me of Grandma.
