P3 Artbook- Character Personas
Loki wasn't aware just how much he missed Cerberus until Cerberus already knocked him over with the intent on kissing every inch of his face, Nemesis giggling behind them.
P3WinFes - Kiss
Cerberus, ever the peppy, bouncy type when he came by, was walking slow with his heads bowed. Orpheus rushed over to see him, the three headed dog giving him a soft, emotional awoo.
"Where's Than?"
Cerberus slowly turned around and pointed behind him, giving him another sad look when Orpheus glanced over his shoulder back at him.
That couldn't be good. It had been a long time since he last saw Thanatos. And last time, he had been silently seething.
He wasn't hard to find, given that he towered over everyone, the white mask currently adorning his face. He never wore that mask anymore, especially down here. Orpheus sprinted over to him, concerned.
"Thanatos?"
He remained silent, removing the mask from his face. His eyes were darkened, unfocused and half closed. He sat down, waiting as Orpheus sat down next to him. Thanatos said nothing for a while, and he could see the slight shake in his hands as he held his mask in his lap.
Orpheus never knew him to be very talkative when it was important. The last time he saw him in the living world- and not just his body being puppeted- he had been silent the whole way until they came to the room where he decided to die in, telling them everything they needed to know. And now, he seemed to be barely holding himself together.
"...He's gone, isn't he?"
Thanatos gave him a sideways glance.
"Yes."
"I'm sorry. I'm here for you."
Thanatos nodded appreciatively. The silence stretched on for another moment or two.
"I can see why Sukuna left back when... we thought that Robin..."
He exhaled sharply, running his hands over his face and through his hair.
"She's a lot smarter than me."
"Up until-? Than..."
"I know, Orpheus. I know. Bad idea, huh?" He half joked.
He rarely called him by his full name, reaching out to pat his leg. He watched Thanatos collect himself, frowning.
"He was just a kid, Orphy. He was twenty-five. Twenty-five, that's barely any time at all. Twenty-five and- fuck..." Thanatos rubbed at his eyes, a few tears falling. "I'll never forgive him for this."
"He had a good life, didn't he?"
"He didn't even get to live! He suffered all this time!" Thanatos snapped at him. "I-... this was hard to watch, knowing we can't do much for him until he's dead."
Orpheus looked away, withdrawing his hand. His anger was overwhelming.
"I'm not... I'm not mad at you. Sorry, Orpheus. Just... even his Trickster is older than him. I hate this. He's too young."
It became silent again. Orpheus could read the conflicting swirl of emotions on his face, tears flowing freely.
"Well, he will be well cared for when he arrives." Orpheus said carefully, before quietly joking: "I hope he lets you spoil him."
"Yeah. We will make sure of that." Thanatos shifted, bringing his knees to his chest. "Hey... I'm gonna go. I'll try to stay longer next time I visit. "
"Yeah, sure. I'll be here."
Thanatos slipped the mask back on as he walked away, and Orpheus watched until he disappeared. A nose poke under his arm, Cerberus wiggling his way into his lap, still sad. Orpheus scratched behind his ears, lost in thought.
Lots of overthinking and trying to make him feel better with kisses
