Cecil kemperink
Cecil Kemperink is a dutch ceramic artist. Her work has motion as the key element of her sculptures, and how each circle is important to the sculptures, how each circle influences the other. Kemperink’s work also connects her other passions: textile, clay, dance, fashion and sculpture. Her works have a variety of forms and colours, from a small, standing grey piece to a large, wearable terracotta ombre.
‘Kemperink’s work centers around the idea of connecting rhythm, form, movement, energy, and sound…the fascinating part of Cecil’s work that seems to challenge the very idea of sculptures that most of the time is static, and one cannot interact with them. On the contrary, the viewer can put in motion Cecil’s sculptures, and the interaction will create unique sounds.’[1]

~ceramics~
this monday i did the cermaic workshop, i used this workshop to make the chains and chime discs for my sound scupture. The process of making the chains is a bit tedious but the result is worth it. I also learned how to use the extraction machinece in the cermaic studio, as this is how i made the chains - a tube cut up into thin segments and linked together.
