Here we go: the homophobic convention.

What can i say... i was there, with hetero friends and parents (also a grandma!) in order to protest against it.

It s difficult to explain all the disgusting ,false, and inaccurate things that were told by Cerrelli (vice president of Catholic jurists union), but i'll try :

1-"With the laws against homophobia, ALL of the people in the convention would be arrested, expatriated, rieducated in lgbt associations. The same would happen if you're at the barber and say "i don't approve same sex marriage".   Psychological TERRORISM.

2-"Homosexuality is a disorder, a mental deviation because the mind says right and the body says left"    He says these awful things turning to parents of lgbt people in the room. There's no need to say how my mom and other parents were outraged by that.

3-"Homosexuals, and homosexualyzation of society destroy families and that's why we have so much divorces" ...really.

4-"lgbt people are trying to IMPOSE gender ideology in our society and school, saying that there's no male or female , but you can choose to be whatever you want: gay ,man,woman,bisexual, queer,intersex"  can you actually believe that he confused gender identity with sexual orientation?

5-"There are 24 kind of gender identity and they want to IMPOSE that male or female don't exist and that gender identity is LIQUID "   WTF IS HE TALKING ABOUT?? 

6- "A law against homophobia can't help glbt children who commit suicide ; in Toronto, there IS NO HOMOPHOBIA (!!!) but gay children still commit suicide"

7-"Gay children commit suicide because homosexuality is a bother,desease, not because of homophobia"

8-" Simone, the gay child who committed suicide in Rome didn't killed himself because of homophobia" I MUST SAY THAT IT IS FALSE: Simone left a letter where he said "Italy is a free country but there IS homophobia and homophobes must  deal with their conscience" . And it's not over. The police found 10 telephone calls by Simone to the gay help line, where he said "I understand glbt people who commit suicide, i thought to do it too" "I feel the homophobia at my job place, they call me faggot when i turn" . Cerrelli spitted on this child memory. 

And not only on his memory: this year in Italy we had FIVE suicide of gay children (underage for the most part). 3 in Rome. Homophobia were always a greatest common denominator.

9- "i don't see homophobia in Italy. gays aren't discriminated in Italy. there are no children who suffers because of homophobia in Italy". That hurted me. A LOT. Because I WAS one of the victims of homophobia. I was persecuted for like 2 years by homophobes. They created facebook pages against me, saying that i was a pedophile over my little brother. They used my personal photos of me and him in order to accuse me of pedophilia , saying to call the police. they threathen me by mail, saying "why put in danger your family". They threaten me saying "we want to destroy you life" "make you lose your job" . They created also other pages on facebook saying that i was a prostitute and that i worked in public bathroom at the station. That my parents were desperate. That i asked help to nicolosi in order to change my sexual orientation.  

And it's just because i m a strong man and i have good family and friends, that i'm still here talking about it. 

Also, i listened a lot of underage lgbt children who are victimis of homophobia all around Italy. Also in their family, by their own parents and even brothers.

So , what that piece of S**T of Cerrelli said, really hurted me. and them.

I could explain in detail why and how the things Cerrelli said are completely false. But it would take too long and ,well, i have something more important to write.

I know that most part of tumblr speak english, and not surely Italian. I'll translate then those signs in the photos(the one you can read, actually):

-RESPECT/FREEDOM/EQUALITY : "Homophobes must deal with their conscience" (cit. Simone, gay boy who committed suicide that i talked about)

The grandma had this sign- "My homosexual nephew has the right to love without discrimination, and without physical, psychological, verbal violence! Let them live!"

-"Enough lies! The law against homophobia doesn't punish who say is against same sex marriage. It punishes who promote prejudice that homosexuality is a illness,againstnature and who promote the cure of homosexuality. "

-"He could be your son. Homophobia KILLS."

Then, there was my mom.You can see her.

-"My son is not sick!he's gay!Enough with your lies! Your prejudices kill!"

About my mom, something strong happened then, when the convention was over and people were leaving. Me and mom remained embraced for a while, with our signs, while those people , leaving , were looking at us in a weird way.

So my mom said "He, HE IS MY SON!". So i said "And she is my mom!And i'm PROUD to have parents who love me and support me for what-i-AM!" 

Then i started to cry.  I was so sad for what i heard in that shitty convention  that i couldn't take it anymore in that moment , so tears came out naturally. Mom encouraged me so much, saying that "you can't let them see you in this way, you have to be strong and proud, they don't deserve your tears". 

I love you so much, mom.

Please,spread the message. of what a TRUE PARENT is.

  Nella puntata di “Domenica In” di settimana scorsa era stato proposto un approfondimento sul tema omosessualità e omofobia. Inizialmente era stato invitato in trasmissione l’avvocato Giancarlo Cerrelli, vicepresidente dell’Unione Giuristi cattolici italiani, ma in un secondo momento, per evitare che venissero espresse opinioni discordanti dal “politicamente corretto”, a Cerrelli è stato comunicato che la sua presenza a “Domenica In” non era più prevista. Si tratta di un caso di palese censura e di mancanza di rispetto per la libertà di espressione di ciascuno nella sfera pubblica.

É gravissimo che il servizio pubblico ceda in modo così palese e grottesco a indebite pressioni esterne, impedendo un autentico dialogo su temi così delicati, diventando così succube del pensiero dominante e rinunciando al proprio dovere di garantire il confronto e il pluralismo. Il rischio è che in materie centrali nel dibattito democratico la Rai si trasformi in un’agenzia di propaganda del politically correct.
