Oh God, she really is suffering. But I really admire her charecter because even through her grief and misery, she makes sound decisions. She advises Robb well, and makes sure not to coddle him. She knows and knows.
I see a little bit of Lady Stoneheart in her. Did she get that name because her heart turned solid and brittle? Yes, i see it. Her daughters are far away and treated miserably. Her sons (as she knows) are dead. And the only son close to her is off at war hoping to have a crown on his head.

She wants. But she can never say her wants out loud. So Catelyn has to bury them deep inside. She never even wants for herself! Its always for the good of her children.

She is the only one actively seeking for the good of the realm (?). Catelyn strongly opposes the idea of kingship and glory, and i take it, she is by far the only person who even brought up a peace meeting.
