End of an era for the Magicman Training Academy
Congratulations to the last class of 2015 who are also the last to leave the current Training Academy. It’s about to be mothballed in favour of a new improved centre which opens its doors in the New Year.
On the final day of a five week training course CEO Mark Henderson gave the latest Magicman repair technicians their certificates in front of their brand new kitted out vans as per the Magicman tradition.
Congratulations go to Carl, Lee, Jack and Serge, the last class from the current Training Academy. and of 2015 We applaud them for successfully completing the comprehensive five week training course expected of all our technicians and can safely say that even if they are the last, the training remains first class.

They have learned dozens of different repair techniques across many different hard surfaces and substrates, colour matching and colour mixing, health and safety and how to meet the high service levels our customers deserve.
It is a very positive experience for all concerned. Trainees frequently tell us how much they have enjoyed it and are itching to get out there and show what they can do. Often they compliment the honest no-nonsense approach of our training guru Steve Shaw who goes on to support them while they are out on the road, along with our Enquiries Team who are all experienced repair technicians themselves with years of experience.
Lee manages to still grin on a wintry final day
It’s a system that has served Magicman well for years and their customers too. In that respect there is nothing unusual about the four lads who joined our national workforce this week.
Jack can’t wait to get on the road and use his newly acquired skills
Every technician to join Magicman in the last few years has been trained in this way but Magicman is growing and needs to be able to train more staff at once and that requires a bigger and better equipped building. For months we have been quietly fitting out a brand new purpose built Training Centre in the building adjacent to our Head Office which for the first time, includes a specially designed room for glass polishers.
Mark Henderson congratulates Serge
In early 2016 Magicman’s new Training Academy will officially open less than a hundred yards away from the old one and where we hope to eventually train as many as 10 technicians simultaneously. It should not be too long before we have some new traditions to celebrate as well as newly qualified trainees.
