ULTRAMARINES

The Sons of Robute Guilliman, one of the last surviving primarchs and the current head of the Imperium. Long the poster child of the 40k universe, Ultramarines are most easily categorized as the midpoint around which the other chapters are defined.

Valtus, a Redemptor Dreadnought of the second company (and guest) taking moderate lasgun fire.

After the events of the Horus Heresy which saw half of the Emperor's sons in open rebellion, Guilliman penned the Codex Astartes to establish guidelines the remaining loyalist chapters must follow to avoid becoming too individually powerful should they again challenge the imperium. While tactical creativity and individual judgment are not discouraged among the Ultramarines, they are very proud of their connection to this document and are more prone to abide by its guidance than some.

As the 'Original Flavor' of space marines, Ultras get a lot of cultural exposure as the default appearance for any generic astartes models, as well as several successful action games. All these screencaps are from Space Marine 2, the sequel in a series that follows one storied Ultramarine named Titus through a number of personal trials.

Malum Caedo, seen here witnessing a demon vacating its frail human shell, is the star of his own series 'Boltgun,' where he racks up a frankly dubious list of accomplishments.

Ultramarines also feature prominently in the mobile game 'Tacticus.' Recreated here are two of my favorite units; The ever-Reliable Bellator and the grimly efficient Certus, defending against a Tyranid incursion.

My favorite characters to draw, myself in my idealized adorable version. Certus, my precious flower demon child. And my boyfriend Maw.

I call them OCs because I personally came up with the designs for them. The only true OC is the girl in the middle Certus. Obviously Maw is from Horrortale and I'm just a self insert.
