“Hey dad, mom!” “Aw my little gem! Come in for a huge!” Scarlet invites, and Quartz gallops over to her parents where Scarlet and Cerulean give her a big one!

Cerulean Point and Scarlet Crystal mostly moved back to their home in the Crystal Empire once Quartz moved out on her own (having previously moved in for a few years so they could be there for Quartz’s schooling), but they take big trips to Ponyville when they can!

Rainbow Feather walks through the door and immediately gets tackled by two ponies! “Oh Rainbow Feather!” Cerulean Point, Quartz’s dad, starts!

“We heard you propose to our Quartz- it’s about time, that filly always was such a slow starter! I’m glad she has a good marefriend like you to push things forward!” Scarlet Crystal takes over! “Uh, I wouldn’t say I’m the one doing most of the pushing....” Feather’s kinda overwhelmed! “Now now, no matter who’s moving things forward,” Point continues, “You love our daughter, right? And she loves you?” Feather pauses for a second, then energetically nods, “Yes!”

“Then welcome to the family!” the two hug her!

'Motion sensing spell

Quartz Horn walks over to her parents.

"Hey Mom, hey dad!"

Scarlet Crystal and Cerulean Point look up as Quartz detects a brief surge which she thinks must be happiness, "Hello dear," says Cerulean.

"Are you back from the spell with the Princess?" asks Scarlet.

"I am!" Quartz says, and begins picking up something odd...

"Uh, hey Mom, Dad, what were you talking about before I got here?"

"Why, we were just saying how nice it was of Princess Luna to have activities for you and other kids to do!"

Cerulean nods, "It's really generous of her! Considering how busy she must be, it shows she cares about the next generation."

Oh! This must be 'thinking of here as a little filly'!

Quartz smiled, "This is so cool!"

Which just left here parents a bit confused!

Quartz's family evacuations

"Do you have everything you need? Do you need a hat?"

"No, mom, I don't need a hat! It's an evacuation, not a day at the beach!"

"Right, right... lesse, emergency food, that's good, right?" Scarlet Crystal asked.

"Yes mom!"

Quartz's mom wasn't normally this scattered, but Quartz's mom was used to being safely behind the protection of the Crystal Heart, save for that one time with Sombra.

"Ok, we have enough bits to last us awhile," Cerulean Point said, bringing the family wallent, "And, uh... will you need your spellbooks honey?"

He was a unicorn too, pretty rare in the Crystal Empire, and he was quite skilled with using his horn.... in physical tasks. Magic teachers were a lot rarer up there, so they'd moved to Ponyville (well, Canterlot would've been ideal, but they couldn't afford a good place there and Twilight's an obvious alternative) to get better teaching for Quartz, who had a real magic talent and thanks to learning here, was already twice as good at magic as he was.

Quartz thinks, ".... better not, we're not supposed to carry much, only essentials. Besides, we're going to Canterlot, home to Celestia's school for Gifted Unicorns, right?"

"Right!" her dad says, "Just like you always wanted." The family shares a small laugh before getting back to preparing.
