SUPER LATE ANSWERS SORRY
DIADRE
Something that makes them happy
Praise. She wants to be such an exemplary agent that it will pave the way for aliens to be trusted and accepted in the Empire’s ranks, but knows it’s impossible to bring that about if they don’t even acknowledge the work she does do. She’ll fish for it or drop hints or talk herself up in hopes of being acknowledged, and rarely with any luck.
By the time she defects to the Republic, she’s given up that goal and stifled her need for it, but any acknowledgement she receives from them she prizes even more—and she’d much rather deal with the undertone of despite you being from the Empire than despite you being an alien.
Do they have an idol or someone they look up to?
In her class-canon, it’s Saber. Seeing a brave and capable female twi’lek trusted with such a sensitive operation disclaimer-free, needing no excuses and making no apologies, made a huge impression on her. It’s that moment that plants the seed of thinking that maybe the long, long road Diadre has set in front of herself of carving out a place for her people in the Empire may not be worth it after all—especially if the cost is helping destroy the places where they already have the respect she craves. (She also may have gotten a huge crush on her at the time but that’s neither here nor there)
In non-class canon there really isn’t anyone in particular, or at least any who last very long. There so few aliens in Intelligence and those she interacted with were usually of similarly low rank; as a young agent she looked up to quite a few humans among her superiors, only to be disappointed again and again by how they treated her. In the end she decided to look up to only herself, and to be the person that all the rest could look up to.
CESLY
What are they afraid of?
Betraying the trust of her squad. Cesly knows that she can be too trusting, especially when it comes to giving someone undeserved second chances, but that never stops her from going through with it. She can never shake the worry that one day this will backfire—not on her, but on her squad. And then she’s afraid of leading them into danger too recklessly or sending them on a mission without enough backup—of becoming the commanders she heard muttered about in military academy who’d spend their soldiers’ lives like credits on a sabaac table. She knows the Republic’s place in the war is desperate and she can’t afford to coddle or be too cautious, but worries that her own drive to make as big a difference as she can will put them in more danger than she meant to (except for Ordhan; she basically has to sit on him to hold him back, and will even put up with Declan’s presence if it means having someone else keep an eye on him).
How do they handle rejection?
In her personal life, she’s so certain of it/used to it that she copes with rejection before it even happens, or when it doesn’t even happen at all. If things don’t seem to be heading that way she’s sure there’s some catch she missed, or that someone’s playing a big joke on her and she won’t give them the satisfaction of seeing her get her hopes up.
She’s not nearly so pessimistic in her professional life, and feels rejection more keenly, but still gets over it quickly and starts planning on how to do better in the areas she fell short in.
JIYON
What is one thing they find embarrassing?
The fact that Tenson knows a million things he finds embarrassing. The drawback of having a surrogate older brother who’s known you most of your life and can remember things like that time you jumped off a roof just to show you could, or the time he had to save you from three or four bigger kids you’d tried to bully, or the time he had to fish you out of a well you thought it would be good to go spelunking for holocrons in.
Then there was the time when one of his overseers told him that a duel he had struggled to win had been rigged against his opponent, but he still refuses to let himself believe it to this day.
Do they value loyalty?
Yes, but in a way of expecting it automatically and being extremely confused and angry when it’s not given. Every imperial should be completely loyal to him. Every slave and servant should think of nothing more than serving him. He’s the most entitled little shit possible and it even extends into his friendships; he doesn’t demand it from them, but is bad at being grateful when and easily wounded by perceived slights.
