As I was watching the episode one thought I kept having was how good an actor Rob Benedict is. There were moments he had this look on his face that made me think that he wasn't there to help, he was there for his own amusement, which turned out to be true. I was thinking that the difference between Chuck now and the Chuck we met in "The Monster at the End of the Book" was so huge. Then I realized that Chuck is the Monster at the End of the Book for Supernatural and I needed to share that.

HECK YES. He’s come a long way from being “super cute” and avoiding stepping up and taking any blame for anything in 11.20...

Now that he’s actively getting called out on directly meddling in all of their lives for giggles, or whatever, it’s finally clear exactly what Chuck’s role in the universe is. He’s not “writer terrified because he realized his characters were real” that he was back in s4.

He’s not even “benevolent creator who will kindly approve of people writing fanfic of his universe” from 10.05.

He’s definitely not “wishy-washy creator ready to throw in the towel on his story” from s11...

He’s angry his characters have become so real that they want control of their own lives.

During the section when everyone is running in and out of the doors they snuck in Scrappy Doo during the line "pretending you've got a sliver." It is right on the word "sliver". I thought that was a neat Easter egg.

Oh gosh, yeah. I still haven’t come up with an accurate count of Eeny Weeny Mystery Machineys yet, because camera angles in the pawn shop made it hard to count. There’s so much good stuff in this episode.

Thinking about the barn in 4x01 and the barn in 12x12, I realized that in the first one we are introduced to Castiel, Angel of the Lord, but Cas' whole speech about the Winchesters being his family was a declaration that he is now Cas, Angel of the Winchesters.

AAHHHHHH! THANK YOU FOR FINDING YET ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE THIS BETTER AND/OR WORSE!

But really, that’s his one last hurdle. Is he really an angel? REALLY?! IS HE?

Or is he just Castiel Winchester. One of Mary’s boys. (by marriage I guess) :P

I love Grizzop even more thanks to his two moods: killing and accepting help! Also, those weird dog things are just creepy and I am beginning to understand how terrible Rome is.

Yes!! There is so much to love about Grizzop and those are definitely two things I love a lot. Also Rome is the worst. Nothing good happens in Rome.

I had to end the day with the most awkward episode ever. The expected awkwardness of Hamid and his family and the unexpected awkwardness of everyone else. The discussion of the importance of dead bodies, comparative life spans, and religious beliefs of different cults was just brilliant roleplaying. The orc moonshine was just the perfect cap for the episode. Of course the goblin and orc paladins would be fine while the human rogue is wasted.

Now imagine listening to all that while doing an inventory at Stop & Shop. You know how for me, Season 3 and part of Season 4 of Magnus Archives makes me think of Dollar Tree? Cairo is alllllll Stop & Shop.

And yes, gods, all of the awkward and all of the brilliant roleplaying. Cairo is A Lot, but all of it is *excellent.*

Sasha doing drunken knife tricks is delightful. I love her terribly.

Quick note Grizzop summarizing seasons one and two for Azu is the greatest thing ever.

I have finished season 2. I have met Azu, I adore Azu. Other things i love in these episodes: the interrogation, especially Grizzop. Grizzop meeting Wilde for the first time. The exciting times trying to reach a desk. Hamid's emotional meeting with his ex while Sasha and Grizzop are being weirdly adorable in the vault. Hamid backstory in general.

Huzzah!

I adore Azu with my whole entire heart, there is so much to love about her. Grizzop and Wilde I have Feelings about (good ones) you’ll know why when you get there. Never has reaching a desk been more of a trial. And oh gods, I can’t even re-listen to Hamid meeting his ex because it was A Lot, for me at least. Sasha and Grizzop are just weirdly adorable and compatibly awkward at all times and I love their friendship to bits.

There is more Hamid backstory awaiting you in Cairo, I look forward to you getting there!

Hamid!! the last thing I got to was Hamid being informed of his sister and Berties's deaths. I am sad for both on Hamid's behalf. I feel the sword and Brutor will get along much better than either did with Bertie. Sasha and Grizzop make an awesome duo.

I was sad for Aziza’s death too. Not so much for Bertie’s death, except for the fact that it made Hamid sad. I was mostly sad for *James* leaving the cast, because we may have hated Bertie, but James is a delight. Brutor and the sword will be better together and without him on both counts.

Sasha and Grizzop’s friendship is just SO GOOD and I love them both of them to bits and bits and bits.

I was going to tell you I was excited for you to hit the next season and then realized the season you’re on isn’t over yet! More excitement is yet to come!
