Set after the TV-Interview in book 2. It is a really tiny short work, but i hope you'll enjoy it.
“Choose your next words very wisely, Senator.” Ethan clenches his teeth, ready to punch the life out of this asshole. The Senator stares at Ethan, as if he ways up his options. He nods and steps back from Casey. Before someone can say something, the door opens and Travis pops his head inside. “Senator, there is a phone call for you. Actually a lot of calls.” “I bet there are”, he grumbles and storms out of the room. With a side look Ethan waits until they are alone. Then he turns his full attention to her. With his hands in his pockets he slowly walks to her. “Are you proud of yourself?”, he now stands in front of her, her back against the wall. She smiles: “Yes.” “Good, so am I”, he answers with a bright mischievous smile. He leans his left hand against the wall next to her head. She watches his every move: “Not single, huh?” “What’s that saying? ‘It’s complicated. ‘” he leans closer, his lips brush hers, while his right hand comes up to gently touch her neck. But before their lips could touch, Travis opens the door. “Excuse me, the Senator is ready to head back to the hospital.” With an annoyed sigh Ethan nod his head, glaring daggers into the young man.

Casualty
I know I'm like 5 days late but omg 😲 Casualty has me in tears. How can the do that to Ethan. Hasn't he suffered enough already? At least he's got Alecia now though but that's not the point. They killed off his only family. I know that killing off Lilly would be way to obvious but at least we would be prepared for it. Ugh, why?

Of course! I miss my fort buddy. We are. I have claimed Hunter's bed as a new extension to my fort by the way, so it might be bigger when you get back.

Eyes on the inside. || Cameron & Ethan ||
Getting this over with. That was the main focus on Cameron’s mind right now. This mission would be merely a bad memory after the end of this night, so that was the only reassurance she had, which meant she clung to that thought like a lifeline. Counting the minutes even before they entered this night club. Yes, a night club. Probably the only positive thing about this mission was the fact that she could at least have a good time, although the company could be better. The target owned the place, and was a suspected mutant, or had connections to many.. Pure work never made Cameron feel the least bit comfortable. She didn’t exactly believe in what the Pures stood for, but it was all she had left, and all she apparently had a skill for. The fact that most of her now supposedly called colleagues hated her guts for what she was, didn’t help the situation, but once again she kept strong. That was just the way she lived.
They had just arrived at the club, and she was walking alongside Ethan towards the entrance of the place. She was trying to act more friendly towards him. She was trying to play her part, but it was hard. The only thing she could think of was Alex. How mere friendship with Ethan had ruined their relationship, and how doing this felt like betrayal to Alex, even though it wasn’t his business anymore. It all just fell unnatural. She knew she was acting tense as she stood beside him, while they were supposed to be a couple, and she was honestly struggling to find her stance next to him. Failing miserably in her opinion. When they took their place in the line in front of the club, she wasn’t sure what to do with herself. Where to leave her hands? Or how to act with Ethan? Playing this part was proving harder than she had thought.
