"That's when I remember the wire and how important it was to him. I look around frantically...My stomach contracts at the thought of what I must do next...There's nothing I can do then but close her eyelids, whisper goodbye, and swim away."
Katniss Everdeen, Catching Fire pg 334
Katniss immediately realizes Beetee doesn't have something that's important to him, that's likely his main weapon and ignores the repulsion she feels to get it anyway. Not only does she risk herself for it, she treats Wiress with respect and says goodbye. Does that sound like someone cold or selfish? Do people need a refresher in basic definitions? Did we not read the same book? Is there some secret underground version written by mutt!Peeta Mellark?? If so please send me a copy because I have questions and he has probably answered them in that version of THG. Anyway, thanks for reading the latest installment of Iconic Katniss.
