she didn’t feel safe in her own home anymore. even with the extra locks and security system she had installed after she came home from the hospital. paranoia was an interesting thing , it took control of you whether you liked it or not. it started in small amounts and then evolved into something GREATER the longer it took home inside of you. 

gaia turned the television down the second she heard the startling and noises that came from the back of the house. she couldn’t even think of anyone that would visit her so late. ( unless it was makena trying to get in through her window because she forgot her key again ). gaia made her way to the back door , grabbing a bat in the process. she opened the door , ready to hit the person over the head.

she didn’t know why she was there. but she had felt a pull after the gas leak ( or whatever was going on ... she had only been told a few details ). but she was in the school and knew exactly where he’d be. maybe from all the time they had spent together years ago. she used to know him better than anyone else. and he had known her better than she knew herself. “ apollo , hey , “ there’s an obvious difference in her appearance from the last time they saw each other. “ you lost it too ? “

it was her first day in town after arriving after driving all the way up to paragon from the city after an even longer flight from india , which had been the most recent place she was living in until she got a call about a teacher position at the kindergarten in paragon that she had applied for on a whim. she was coming out a cafe , hot coffee in hand despite the humid weather when she caught sight of a freckled boy with red hair. how does gaia munroe-howlett solve her problems ? she walks away and acts like she didn’t see him.

once fabian heard about what happened to their best friend , they did everything they could to get away and find them. “ i heard what happened , “ fabian said , signing as they spoke , once they got to apollo and pulled them into a hug. “ how’re you doing , buddy ? are you alright ? “
