Everyone, say happy birthday to one of the beloved villains of the Vanguard series, Ren Suzugamori from Cardfight!! Vanguard!
Ren Suzugamori is one of the main antagonists within the first season of the Cardfight!! Vanguard series. He is the leader of a team called Team Foo Fighters (known as Team Asteroid in the English dub) and is the leader and founding member. He is one of the old rivals to Toshiki Kai, the childhood friend of the protagonist, Aichi Sendou. It is through Kai that Ren learned how to play Vanguard, idolizing him and wanting to become stronger by beating him. In order to do this, Ren became obsessed with his own strength that he obtained a mysterious ability known as PSY Qualia, an ability that allows the user to communicate and interact with their cards and predict the outcome of a fight. In the end, Ren would never be able to test his newfound ability on Kai after he abandoned him, allowing Ren to become a power hungry monster that requires a strong opponent to satisfy him. This would bring him to Aichi Sendou, and once he realized how similar they were and how much Kai had done for them, determined he would kill Aichi for defeating Kai before he could. After being purified by Aichi, Ren would become a recurring character who would assist Aichi and crew whenever they need assistance.
Personality wise, Ren is a power hungry monster who requires victory against the strongest opponents. PSY Qualia has corrupted him so much that even Kai feared him. Ren became a sadist that enjoyed undeniable pleasure in watching his opponents suffer from the darkness he engulfs them in while also playing mind games and watching them fall into depression after his victory. Although calm and relaxed, Ren is often seen communicating with his cards as if he understands what they're saying and acting like they're standing next to him. Once he's purified, Ren is a huge goofball who hates working and just wants to have fun. Due to his airheaded nature, he's constantly being babysat by his teammates and loves to play jokes and prank his friends. Despite that, Ren does deeply care for his rivals and friends, and the second he finds a person that upsets them, Ren will not hold back and kill you.

Ren runs a Shadow Paladin Clan deck which is part of the United Sanctuary Nation, a nation filled with technologically advanced knights and mages. The Shadow Paladin Clan is a clan hidden within darkness, aiding the United Sanctuary with their power to control the shadows. Their main ability is to destroy the enemy by sacrificing their allies to gain power. Ren's ace unit is the one that rivals Aichi and is the darkness that contrasts Blaster Blade, the level 2 unit known as Blaster Dark! Like Blaster Blade, Blaster Dark is a very popular unit that has multiple iterations over the years, but his abilities stay the same. Whenever Blaster Dark is summoned, you pay a resource in order to destroy one of your opponents cards. That's it. Although lackluster, Blaster Dark has receiving a lot of support that makes it a terrifying opponent when you're the enemy of the shadows! I should know! After all, both my sister and I play Blaster Dark~
Hoo boy...where do I begin with this VERY pathetic yet terrifying man? On one hand, Ren is a very interesting villain and very lovable. His quest for power is very simple, but the way it takes over him is very interesting to me since most card game rivals who desire strength (or rivals in regular media) are edgy and stoic. Ren may be edgy, but he's not like...stoic stoic. Yes, he does keep to himself, but he's still pretty social and lovable by his friends. Hell, he has a social life that most rivals don't (I think). Kind of...but despite that, he's still terrifying when he locks in and the way he talks to his cards makes him seem like a werido, but it's part of his charm! He cares so much about the game that changed his world so I respect that. Once you get to know him more...dear LORD he's pathetic as hell...man is so airheaded that he once jumped off of a school rooftop (I think it was 3 or 4 stories tall) just to say hi to Aichi and he was fine when he landed- there's also this scene

We've got a heroic blond knight to the rescue, and a selfish CEO who cares for his employees while achieving his dream! Everyone, say happy birthday to Kourin Tatsunagi from Cardfight!! Let's start with og overrated waifu, Kourin!
Kourin Tatsunagi is one of the main characters introduced within the original Cardfight!! Vanguard series. In all iterations, Kourin is part of the idol group known as Ultra-Rare along with her sisters Rekka Tatsunagi and Suiko Tatsunagi. They are backed by the Tatsunagi family who work to spread Vanguard across the world! However, they secretly watch over the events that happen within Planet Cray, the world that the card game takes place in, as both Earth and Cray are connected...it is up to the Tatsunagi family to observe and guard both planets. Kourin would later enter Miyaji Academy and help create a Vanguard club with the protagonist Aichi Sendou, making a lot of new friends along the way!
Personality wise, Kourin is a no-nonsense woman who can instantly switch from that moody serious personality to a very cheerful and sincere idol in a snap. While on stage, she appears to be the standard image of an idol that smiles and is fairly happy. When not on stage, she becomes serious and level-headed, barely opening up and keeping her problems to herself. She knows what she wants, and knows how to get it as well as having an eye for talent! She is also sometimes referred to as a tsundere. Although she can be rude and confrontational, she slowly begins to open up to her new friends and adores them with all of her heart, wanting to keep her precious memories of them!

In the manga and 2018 reboot anime, Kourin runs a Gold Paladin Clan deck that belongs to the United Sanctuary Nation, a nation filled with technological knights and magic. Gold Paladin serves as the cooperation of the well known Royal and Shadow Paladin Clans, putting aside their differences in order to defeat the enemy! Their mechanic is always calling more and more friends from your hand and the top cards of your deck in order the flood the field, even during the battle phase! Koruin's ace is Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel who bypasses the usual leveling up system in Vanguard! Okay, so when you play the game, you can only summon cards that have an equal or less level than your leader and you level up your leader during the beginning of your turn in a phase that is known as "riding" where you place a card on top of your current leader with a level equal to or higher than your leader. Ezel is able to bypass ALL of that! If you have his specific allies, Ezel is able to summon himself as your current leader for FREE while your opponent is still at the weaker stages of the game, allowing you to hit them HARD. When Ezel attacks, +1,000 attack for each of your Gold Paladin allies! But when you have four or more damage, Ezel's special ability activates! He calls the top card of your deck and gives himself power equal to the card summoned! Ezel has always relied on the bypassing requirements, allowing him and his allies to constantly swarm the field with lots and LOTS of attackers to finish the game!
In the 2011 anime, Kourin runs a Royal Paladin Clan deck that belongs to the United Sanctuary Nation as well! Royal Paladin is the favorite child of the Vanguard series since they are the knights of truth, justice, and order Their gimmick is based on the power of friendship where they gain power from calling allies and gaining power from how many you have! Kourin has ran a bunch of Paladin decks, but the one that everyone remembers her using are the Jewel Knights, specifically Leading Jewel Knight, Salome! During the main phase, Salome can call any Jewel Knight from your deck to your field as long as you pay the cost! But when you are at four damage or more, her special ability activates! If you have four or more Jewel Knight cards, Salome gains an extra +2,000 attack and deals extra damage to the opponent! The Jewel Knights have become infamous for being piloted by Kourin's hands and for being a waifu deck, so there's a lot of fans who love the Jewel Knights! Their mechanic of being able to call more Jewel Knights allows them to multiattack as well, being able to push for high damage and force your opponent into a corner!
Unlike most fans, I'm pretty eh about Kourin. I really adore her as a character, but for me, she's just- eh- I mean this in like a waifu way- I can understand why people love her and call her their waifu, but I don't really see her as one since I'm not really attracted to her. But as a character, I really adore Kourin and wish to give her a lot of platonic hugs! Kourin is a very overrated character, and I can see why since her growth as a serious individual to someone who doesn't want to lose her precious memories of her friends is very adorable to see! But then...Cardfight!! Vanguard IF ruined Kourin for me...the character assassination of Kourin was just...ugh...yeah, I understand she wasn't in her right mind when she was the main villain, but it was still...ugh...I really hated it...which is why I choose to ignore it lol. BUT PLAYING AGAINST IN WHEN SHE'S USING EZEL IN VANGUARD EX IS VERY UNFAIR SINCE SHE KEEPS KICKING MY ASS LEGIT FUCK YOU KOURIN-

I don't understand any of the material~!" you rapidly blinked, flashing your eyelids over towards the idol that had been packing her bags. "If only there was a dashing and incredibly intelligent but mostly beautiful knight to help me with my troubles~!" you flashed your eyelids over towards Tatsunagi Kourin once more as she attempted to pass you and bolt towards the door.
"O-oh nooo!" you panicked. "I-if only there was a beautiful blond knight nearby-!"
Her pace had increased as you scrambled over to her, grabbing the leg of the idol. "I-I'm sorry Kourin, I'm being serious here! I don't think I'm gonna pass this test, please help me study please please please please please please please!!!!!"
A sigh left her lips as the usually stoic idol glanced towards your pathetic display. "If…you wanted to study together…you could have just said so." Kourin grumbled as she pulled her phone out of her bag. "Fine…we can study at my place."

Taizo Kiyokura is one of the rivals introduced within Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress. He's a young CEO who wishes to balance his duties as a Pro Vanguard player with his duties as the CEO of the Kiyokura Group! When not working, he can be seen participating in Vanguard matches and helping out his own team, Kiyokura Anchor Bolts, to victory! Taizo wishes to prove to his father that he can balance both Vanguard and his duties as a CEO, and does his best to work towards that dream! He would become a main character in the next era of Vanguard known as Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ where he would be chosen by a mysterious talking plushie named Gabwelius to participate in the Fated Clash, a supernatural Vanguard tournament where six players that represent the six different nations of the game fight in order to grant their wish!...to which Taizo declined. He values his hard work after all, but all of that would change when a mysterious individual begged him to participate in the Fated Clash...for those who would participate in the Fated Clash...would die...wanting to stop that and get to the bottom of this situation, Taizo accepts his entry and participates in the Fated Clash as the representative of Brandt Gate, wielding his partner the Fated One of Guiding Star, Welstra "Blitz Arms"! After the Fated Clash, Taizo would continue to be a main character until DivineZ season 3 where his company would build the Kiyokura Dome in order to help host the biggest Vanguard tournament called the Deluxe!
Personality wise, Taizo is a very chill and laid-back man who loves his job, employees, and Vanguard! He works hard in order to balance and connect his love for his job and Vanguard! He's a kind and welcoming young man who doesn't care about formalities and often treats his employees like family! In fact, they love him so much that they support his dream and often call him CEO as a nickname! Taizo is just a very friendly individual who loves to collect Vanguard cards, play Vanguard, and loves to compete in general! He's a very sincere and kind older brother figure who will always help you out when needed! Plus, he knows a lot about business!

In will+Dress, Taizo ran a Brandt Gate Nation deck, a technological nation locked in an endless tundra that defends their world against galactic threats. Taizo's ace unit is the level 3 CEO named Blitz CEO, Welstra who focuses on using his company's products to deal devastating damage! These products take the form of field spell cards (in Yu-Gi-Oh! terms) known as "Products" and have many different abilities like dealing free damage to the opponent, decreasing the power of the opponent's cards, increasing your own power, drawing cards, and so much more! However, these can only be activated when Welstra or his employees is in charge! When Welstra attacks, he operates one of the Products in the field spell zone, summoning it to your field as an attacker before returning to the field spell zone. Then, Welstra gains an extra +5,000 attack each time a Product is operated, gaining a bunch of power that stacks when a bunch of Products are used! Although you can only activate one spell card once per turn, Welstra and his employees have multiple ways to activate these Products and use their effects, pushing for extra damage!
In DivineZ, Welstra would get an upgrade and become the Fated One of Guiding Star, Welstra "Blitz Arms" His first effect is to pay a cost in order to operate a Product from your field spell zone and give Welstra an extra +5,000 attack! However, Welstra possess a Divine Skill like the rest of the Fated Ones, a skill that can only be activated once per game, which allows him to activate two Products from your hand, and then operate a Product in your field spell zone! Compared to the rest of the Fated Ones, Welstra's Divine Skill can feel a bit lackluster since most of them allow you to gain big amounts of power, gain extra attacks, or literally keep yourself in the game by bypassing the losing conditions! Hell, that's what I thought too! But after seeing it in action, Welstra's Divine Skill is actually really good! Remember how I said you can only activate one spell card per turn? This new Welstra allows you to activate your best Products without hesitation and gain a BUNCH of advantage! Plus, this new Welstra still works perfectly with the old support, allowing you to summon a BUNCH of Products in order to pressure your opponent! Plus, it's even possible to activate the same Product multiple times since their effects aren't once per turn, making some VERY interesting interactions where you can force your opponent's cards into the NEGATIVE numbers! YEAH, you can go past zero attack points in Vanguard! When Welstra gets serious, he CAN push you into a losing situation if you're not prepared! Hell, he was able to push back one of the main rivals to -8,000 attack points! And this was BEFORE Fated Welstra was introduced! If you're fighting an experienced Welstra player, you better have a good plan to survive!
Ah, Taizo! The adorable himbo!!!! I absolutely ADORE Taizo since he does so much to prove his love for his company, its employees, and Vanguard! Plus, he's VERY empathetic and sympathetic which is shown in season 2 of DivineZ since there's some information outside of the episode that states when Taizo realized that the past came back to haunt the gang, he felt VERY guilty for not being able to do anything before like AHHHHHH SUCH A SWEETHEART TAIZOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! He's a really cute and adorable himbo, and I'm sure you all will love him too! Also Welstra is scary too like god damn but also lowkey hot-

"Let's see…there's nothing I'm forgetting, right?"
Just then, a buzz could be heard from a pager on his desk. Taizo pressed a button, answering it. "It's me. What's up?"
"Sir, (L/N) (Y/N) is here to see you."
His face froze as his skin turned pale. Taizo frantically scrambled through his desk, finally finding his phone and turning it on to find a few of your missed calls. "Ah…this is bad…" he winced, glancing at the time before turning to the pager. "Let them in."
"Understood."
Taizo groaned, head in his hands. "Damnit…I got wrapped up in work that I forgot about our date…it's fine, I can just finish this up right now, and we can head out." Taizo gently slapped his face, sitting himself back into his chair and stretching his hands. "Alright, time to lock in!"
Minutes passed while the frustrated typing echoed until a knock was heard at the door. Taizo gulped, quickly glancing at his reflection in a window and fixing his outfit dashing towards the door and opening it. "Listen, I-!"
"Stop!" you huffed, your hands clenching a take out meal and some drinks. "I know you're busy, Taizo. You're a CEO after all."
"Sorry.." Taizo apologized. "I didn't mean to forget our date.."

Mamoru Anjou is one of the many side characters introduced within the sequel anime to the 2011 Cardfight!! Vanguard anime known as Cardfight!! Vanguard G. Within Cardfight!! Vanguard G, the Vanguard Association exists to help players play Vanguard and make it more accessible to people. To do this, they've set up branches around Japan based off of the five major nations within the game, appointing the strongest member of these clans as the leader. Mamoru Anjou is one of them, serving as the Kagero Clan Leader and works at the Dragon Empire Branch. He's the older sister to Tokoha Anjou and is always doing his best to help Vanguard players smile!
Personality wise, Mamoru is an extremely hardworking individual who constantly pushes himself in order to get work done. He enjoys seeing people smile when playing Vanguard and deeply cares about his friends and family. He's a very kind and sincere young man who always does his best in anything he does!

Mamoru runs a Dragon Empire Nation deck, a military nation that is ruled by lots of ferocious dragons! His deck specifically runs on the Kagero Clan, a clan filled with fire dragons that destroy your opponent's field in order to control the game! Mamoru's ace card is the grade 3 unit Dragonic Blademaster who has a very simple skill! When a card is summoned on top of him, destroy one of your opponents allies. And if you have more allies than your opponent, Blademaster gains an extra +5,000 attack and gets to deal an extra damage to the opponent! Although it doesn't sound terrifying, modern iterations of Blademaster are able to destroy your opponent's ENTIRE field without breaking a sweat, leaving the opponent wide open for attacks and no way to recover!
Mamoru is such a sweetheart, and I can see why my sister loves him! He's just a workaholic himbo who's very simple but does a lot of work for the world building of Vanguard G! He does a lot as a side character cause he's kind of like a mentor figure to the protagonists and but he's always too busy to help them out. Poor man needs a break though like God damn this poor himbo is overworked 24/7 since his boss likes to goof off all the time. Poor dude.

Yuni was originally an antihero within Star Twinkle Pretty Cure, undergoing many aliases in order to achieve her goal. Her goal is to help her planet, Planet Rainbow, after its inhabitants were turned into stone. To save them, Yuni sought out the Star Color Pens, using many disguises in order to get what she wants. She would often encounter the Star Twinkle Pretty Cure team where she would assist them with a mission or fight them. During one of their missions, the Star Twinkle Pretty Cures were defeated by the enemy, forcing Yuni to step in and attempt to save them. Her courage and determination would allow her to bond with a Star Color Pen and the Star Color Pendant, allowing her to transform into the Precure who lights up space with a rainbow spectrum, Cure Cosmo!
Personality wise, Yuni is a lone wolf, shouldering her burden and tasks by herself. She's often ready to perform any sort of dirty work in order to save her planet, often going undercover in order to gather more information. Despite this, Yuni is a caring individual who wishes to take matters into her own hands due to the guilt she feels for not being able to protect her planet. She cares about her close friends and will do what she needs to do to protect them!

When I first discovered Sumire Uesaka was in Precure, I knew I was gonna love her character! I mean- Sumire Uesaka voices Chisato Shirasagi aka one of my og Bandori crushes so I gotta love Yuni- and when I found out one of her disguises was a phantom thief named Blue Cat, I thought that was so cool cause like- I love phantom thief stuff cause the fashion is always amazing! Yuni's phantom thief outfit was very basic but still amazing to see! Plus I love the rainbow design of Cure Cosmo's skirt like bruuuuh it's very flashy and may be a bit extra, but I love it and think it's cute! I love Cure Cosmo's design a lot and it's one of my favorite Star Twinkle designs! Oh, and my love for Yuni eventually led me to get Yuni merch! Technically, I got it from a thrift store along with a bunch of Star Twinkle merch (the same one where I got the Healin' Good merch) so jackpot!

It's time to celebrate another Vanguard birthday! This time, we'll be celebrating the birth of one of the first newest characters introduced within the 2021 reboot era! Everyone, say happy birthday to Tohya Ebata from Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress!
Tohya Ebata is one of the main rivals turned protagonist and ally within the 2021 era reboot of the Vanguard series known as Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress. In the first season, he was a medical student who was constantly attempting to beat his rival, the protagonist's mentor. Unfortunately, his path to strength would lead him to discard everything. Friends, family, his future as a doctor, he cut ties with everything and destroyed so much to obtain his strength. By the second season, Tohya has finally come to his senses and was appointed as the new leader of the main Vanguard team, Team Blackout. Throughout the second season, Tohya does his best to repent for his sins and help the protagonist as much as he can. By the third season (known as will+Dress) and future seasons, Tohya leaves the team to the protagonist and once again travels the world in order to go stronger. Even if it's in the desert, the arctics, the forests, if there's a strong player somewhere, Tohya will find them and challenge them!....no literally, he legit is doing that-
Personality wise, Tohya was once a man who had an ambition to quit Vanguard after a tragic event, driving him to seek at least one more fight and win it in order to find some kind of closer and finally focus on becoming a doctor. Once Tohya discarded everything in his path for strength, he became a cold man who sends fear within the hearts of his opponents and will do his best to pin you to a wall in order to beat you. After coming to his senses, we see Tohya was a genuinely kind man who always viewed himself as a weak man who desperately needed closure. He constantly seeks to carry his own sins and burdens on his own back, deeming them to be his own issues that he must solve alone. He's a very responsible and caring person as well, always doing his best to look after his friends and teammates, even if those friends have gone down the wrong path like he once did. He also has a very childish side as well which usually comes out whenever he's eating, enjoying Vanguard with friends, and deckbuilding! Tohya also has a bad habit of spending a lot of money on Vanguard in order to get the cards he needs. Sometimes, he'll even buy a carton of boxes of the newest set!

Tohya runs a Keter Sanctuary Nation deck, a nation filled with technological knights and magic that was destroyed by a civil war over the years. His ace is one of the high knights who protect the upperclass, Apex Ruler, Bastion and the Bastion archetype! During the first season, Tohya uses Apex Ruler who has a very simple effect! All of the Bastion cards focus on gathering and swarming the field with a large amount of level 3 cards and gaining advantage off of them! Apex Ruler has a passive skill that gives all level 3 cards on the field an extra +5,000 attack! Once per turn, if you revealed a level 3 card on the top of your deck after Bastion attacks, Bastion allows one of your level 3 units to attack again and gives it an extra +10,000! During the beginning of the game, Bastion was one of the top decks within the meta for his high beat down power that's able to end the game quickly! Although his skills seem very chill, if you're not careful, they can pack a punch and overwhelm you easily (I learned that the hard way)!
During the final battle of the second season, Tohya gains access to Bastion's upgrade form which is Apex-surpassing Sword, Bastion Prime which is a level 4 unit! He has a passive skill which gives the entire front row an extra +2,000 attack! Once per turn after he attacks, if you revealed a level 3 from the top of your deck, you can discard a Bastion from your hand or detach a Bastion XYZ material (in Yu-Gi-Oh! terms) and send it to the grave, allowing Bastion to make EVERY single level 3 on your field able to attack again and gives them an extra +10,000! Once this card was released, it gave Bastion an even STRONG boost to his overwhelming power, quickly ending the game if you're unable to defend for long enough! After all, Bastion will be attacking with five attacks now!
During the final battle of will+Dress season 3, Tohya gains a new form for Bastion which is Sword of the Nation, Bastion Accord! This level 3 unit counts as Apex Ruler, so it can get the bonus effects of any card that mentions Apex Ruler, Bastion! All level 3 or higher cards on your field gain an extra +5,000 attack AND can't be targeted by your opponent's card effects which is even active on your opponent's turn, making all cards on your field even harder to hit! Finally, after Bastion attacks, you can make one of your cards attack again and if your opponent has a level 3 or higher card, you can discard a Bastion card from your hand to give the restanding attacker an extra reveal of the top card of your deck and add it to the hand! Although a bit underwhelming, this new version of Bastion was made to replace the old Apex Ruler and still work together with Bastion Prime!

Ever since season 2, Tohya has lost SO many brain cells and has become SO dumb. Like I stated before, Tohya is LITERALLY wandering the world right now in order to find strong opponents and there was a season in DivineZ season 4 where Tohya was stranded in the south Pole and missed the next tournament date cause his phone battery was dead AND had no reception. So unlucky- but still, I REALLY love Tohya! He's such a lovable dumbass and is someone I can REALLY relate to cause of his backstory. But as I've said, he's a dumb blond. I mean- look at him-
Literally one of my fav Tohya scenes. He was so serious in the first season and then he became like this- I love him- oh, and I'm not joking about him buying multiple cartons of booster boxes. He CANONICALLY has. Legit- during the prep for season 2's final battle, Tohya bought a carton of booster boxes for the entire team to try and get new cards for their decks- plus, it's canon he only has one copy of Bastion Accord cause he's too poor to afford the other copies. Me and my sister often joked that he's probably using his college fund on Vanguard and honestly- we're still concerned- like- he keeps doing this- Tohya- honey- stop- please-
As for Bastion, JESUS HE'S STILL A POWERHOUSE! I mean- during the beginning he is, but in the modern era...he can sorta compete with the top decks at the moment. My sister has been a Bastion main since day one so I'm always helping her test out her Bastion deck and helping her build new strategies. I've faced her Bastion deck so many times and it's always so fun! After all, my sister can be a wild card at times- she doesn't follow regular combos online- she just does what she feels like is best in the moment and it's always so fun to see what she'll do! However, she can be predictable when it comes to certain decks- hell, even I'm able to replicate the combos she makes on the fly and when we use each other's decks, it's easy for me to understand her strategy and do what I can to win- love ya sis! It's been so long since Ebata Tohya had enjoyed a good fight like that. After the end of the biggest Cardfight!! Vanguard tournament known as DELUXE ended, Tohya had once again begun to wander the world in search of stronger opponents. In order to complete his quest, Tohya was willing to do as much as he could, spending as much money as he could and using every connection he had available to him; and today's quest had landed him stranded in the arctic, specifically the South Pole. Why? Well…it's to become strong of course!
Tohya released a large sigh of excitement as he rested against the chairs of the local airport, finally pulling out his phone and his own portable charger. "I haven't charged this at all, huh…?" the man shrugged as he connected the plugs and waited a few minutes before turning the phone on, checking the wifi bars. "Still not service..?" he shrugged until his eyes lit up when he at least got three or four bars. Suddenly, his phone was bombarded by a mountain of texts and phone calls, all of them unread as his phone continued to vibrate into overdrive.
"H-HUH?!" Tohya screamed, almost collapsing out of his chair. "I MISSED THE THIRD DELUXE?!" His eyes widened, shaking with fear as he saw the other calls and texts he received. "..uh oh…." Tohya took a deep breath as he pressed ring, pressing the phone to his ear. "Ahahaha…um…hi, (Y/N)…"
"Where the hell are you?" you hissed through the speaker, making Tohya feel an extremely cold shiver through his spine that nullified the warmth of the airport. "You haven't responded for ten days."
"Um…my phone died…" Tohya sheepishly answered. "A-and I didn't have any service…"
Tohya could hear you groan from the other side of the phone. "Jeez…Do you know how worried I was..?"
"Sorry…"
"It's alright," you sighed. "Just…please make it home safe, alright? I miss you."
Tohya's face lit up as he took another deep breath. "I promise. Please don't worry, alright?"

Kazuma Shoji is one of the newest main characters introduced within the fourth season of Cardfight!! Vanguard G known as Cardfight!! Vanguard G: NEXT, and would return in the fifth season known as G: Z to fight against the newest threat. He's the newest rival to the protagonist, Chrono Shindou, and often bickers with him due to their opposing personalities. When he was young, his single mother married into the prestigious Onimaru family where Kazuma would bond with Kazumi Onimaru and become inseparable brothers as Kazumi would spark Kazuma's love for Vanguard (even though he could never win against his older brother), creating a bond with Dragheart, Luard. Despite that, the Onimaru family would berate him for "trying to show off" and him and his mother would be kicked out of the family. Kazuma would abandon Luard and Vanguard until his first year in high school where he would ask Chrono (who was working at a card shop at the time) to teach him to play Vanguard. Due to their rocky start, Kazuma would quit after realizing he couldn't win, yet Chrono would keep approaching him due to his talent to be a Vanguard Fighter. He would be roped into Chrono's new team called Team Striders to participate in the Under20, a championship for Vanguard players under the age of 20 to have a chance to go pro! Reluctantly, Kazuma joined until he found Kazumi was one of the champions from last year's Under20, reigniting the desire to beat Kazumi once and for all!...and yet...a new world ending plot was once again lurking withing the shadows. As Chrono attempts to stop it, Kazuma gets dragged along.
Personality wise, Kazuma is a tsundere who gives up too easily. After losing multiple times in Vanguard to his older brother, he's developed a bit of an inferiority complex in order to prove to himself that he can do something. No matter the odds, Kazuma would give up at the first sign of trouble, even if he might win in the end. Despite this, Kazuma is a kind and caring person who does care about his family and friends, but shuts himself off to avoid feeling disappointed. Because of this, he often has trouble displaying those emotions, especially his love towards his friends and family. As the story progresses, Kazuma becomes more confident in his abilities and is able to overcome his demons!

Kazuma runs a Shadow Paladin Clan deck, hailing from the United Sanctuary Nation, a nation filled with technological knights and mages. The Shadow Paladin Clan is a secret society who assists the United Sanctuary with their power! This is shown through their mechanic of sacrificing their own allies to gain even greater power while also putting their opponent at a disadvantage! Unlike the great knights that fight on the front lines, Kazuma has had an everlasting contract with the Dragwizards, mages that specialize in researching the ancient art of "Dragshift", an ability to reconstruct your entire body to become a dragon! These Dragwizards focus on the keyword known as "Ritual" which is only active if your graveyard has a certain amount of level 1 cards (For example, if you have three level 1 cards in the grave, you can activate Ritual 3 and Ritual 5)! Kazuma runs the immature leader known as Dragheart, Luard, a level 3 card that focuses on the newest evolution mechanic at the time! When he evolves, Luard is able to call two level 1 cards from your deck to your field! Like with all mechanics, this evolution mechanic has a cost of discarding any amount of cards that have their levels equal to 3 (so discard a level 1 and 2 or discard a level 3 card), but Luard is able to bypass that mechanic! With Ritual 3 active, Luard can return two cards from your graveyard to the bottom of the deck in order to evolve for free while refilling your deck! Luard is a very powerful deck when he first came out, and he continues to be a meta threat today even as the game has evolved through multiple formats! Hell, a bunch of his staple cards have been used in multiple Shadow Paladin decks! When you fight Luard, you better be prepared!
Kazuma is another very adorable good boy who deserves a lot of love! As you can see from his bio, he's been through so much throughout his childhood, and he really does need a lot of hugs- he's such a cute tsundere who has grown so much over the course of the story; from a dark and brooding tsundere who doesn't have a lot of friends, to someone who's finally able to call Chrono by his first name and call him his best friend! Kazuma is another man that my sister and I adore just for his development and also uh- his ace unit is hot- like Luard is HELLA hot like HOT DRAGON MAN YOU GUYS SHOULD LOOK AT HIM HE HOT LOL

Let's start with Chiyu!
Chiyu Sawaizumi is one of the main Cures within Healin' Good Pretty Cure and is the second member to join the team. She's introduced as a sporty girl who loves to exercise and helps her family run their hot spring inn. She would encounter the main girl, Nodoka Hanadera, and introduce her to her family's inn until a Megabyogen attacks and infects the water element. Chiyu witnesses Nodoka transform into Cure Grace until she becomes injured in the fight. Chiyu immediately talks to the fairy known as Pegitan about letting her transform, and constantly reassures the penguin with her kind words. With his help, Chiyu defeats the enemy by transforming into the Precure of intersecting streams, Cure Fontaine!
Personality wise, Chiyu is a very hygienic and cheerful woman who often acts like an older sister. She's responsible and is always carrying things upon her shoulders. She's smart and athletic as well! Chiyu has always loved the ocean and sky ever since she was a child which would inspire her to become an athlete and always tries to improve herself! Chiyu also loves puns!

"Well…." Chiyu sighed, grabbing the water bottle and placing it against her neck. "Yes, but at least warn me first!"
"Kaaaaaay," you chuckled. "Anything you need me to do? I can get a towel for you."
"You really are prepared, aren't you?" Chiyu asked before drinking from the bottle.
"Well I promised you, didn't I?" you smiled. "I said I was gonna do everything in my power to assist you with your dreams!"
"You don't have to- I'm sure you have your own dreams to accomplish as well."
"I do!" you nodded. "It's to be your coach~!"
Chiyu couldn't help but chuckle as a smile appeared on her lips. "My coach? Really?"

Now, let's talk about Senka~!
Senka Kanae is one of the newest rivals introduced within Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ, being introduced in Season 2. Senka is the main rival to the lead girl Nao Inabe and has known her since childhood. She could never beat Nao as a kid, so she vowed to become stronger and left their hometown until she could become strong enough to defeat her, promising to fight her as a pro player. As an adult, Senka is one of the top three newest pro players to hit the scene and has continued to win whatever match she participates in! However...it's not enough. She's been waiting for Nao to fight her as a pro for so long, and yet...Nao still isn't a pro player. How long does Senka have to wait? One night, she was approached by a mysterious talking stuffed animal who would help her unleash her desire to finally defeat Nao once and for all...to do this, Senka had to participate in the Destined Showdown, a tournament where Senka and five other members would fight against Nao's team in order to grant a wish...Senka would then be granted the Destined One of Exceedance, Impauldio and vowed to win against Nao!
By the end of Season 2 and through Season 3 known as the DELUXE Arc, Senka, Nao, and many other players would be invited to DELUXE, another Vanguard tournament that would test the skills of all players! Of course, Senka signed up and declared she would beat Nao on the stage!
Personality wise, Senka is a very competitive and outgoing woman who's always enjoying every match she plays in Vanguard! Whether it be against someone weaker than her or stronger, Senka is always having a blast and is always searching for worthy opponents! Even if she loses, Senka doesn't mind! She always loves being pushed to the edge during the game so she can clap back with as much force as she can! She loves plastic model kits, window shopping, and cool clothes too! It is unknown what deck Senka ran before Season 2 of DivineZ began, but she now runs a Brandt Gate Nation deck, a nation filled with science, technology, and so much more while being covered in a vast blanket of snow. Her ace unit is the Grade 3 known as Destined One of Exceedance, Impauldio! However to explain Impauldio, we need to talk about the ai system that supports Impauldio aka the token field spell known as SYSTEM CODE: X-ceed! When the game begins, Senka summons the SYSTEM CODE: X-ceed token and places it into her field spell zone! This token is very special since it can only be used with Impauldio and makes it stronger every time Senka takes damage! When Senka DOES take damage, X-ceed activates to put a card from the graveyard under X-ceed as an AutoMOD gauge and gives the Vanguard +5,000 attack EACH TIME Senka takes damage! So even if Senka takes damage, X-ceed makes sure the opponent must put more cards on the field to attack since X-ceed will keep adding more and more power as it learns how the opponent operates and acts accordingly~! Now, let's talk about the main robot itself, Impauldio~! Impauldio is a level 3 card that puts a card from your graveyard as an AutoMOD gauge and then calls a level 3 or lower card from the top five cards of your deck! Then, Impauldio gets the ability "your front row gains +5,000 for EVERY two of your AutoMOD gauges"! This basically means if you have two gauges, the front row gets +5,000! If you have two, +10,000! Three is +15,000, and so on! Like the rest of the Destined Ones, Impauldio possesses the Divine Skill which is an ability the player can only use once per game! If the opponent has a level 3 or greater Vanguard and you have four or more AutoMOD gauges, discard a card from your hand, deal the opponent and extra damage, and draw more cards when Impauldio attacks! Impauldio has cards that heavily rely on the AutoMOD gauges and it's super easy to accumulate a bunch! Hell, Impauldio can even get up to six cards during the Divine Skill turn due to one of its support cards! As someone who started Impauldio because of Senka, I agree that Impauldio is a very formidable card that, if piloted by the right person, can surely destroy your enemies without much effort! As long as you keep analyzing your opponent like Impauldio does, you'll be able to land a HUGE hit with BIIIIIG FAT numbers that your opponent can't defend against!

Raika Koshiba is one of the new main characters and the main rival introduced in the third season of the 2021 era of the Vanguard series known as Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress. During school, he's part of the student council and attends the same school as the protagonist, Yu-Yu Kondo; but after school, he becomes the serious and cold-hearted Vanguard player that is also the leader of Tirnanog Youth! He would be invited to the participate in the biggest Vanguard tournament known as Deluxe and would fight against the new antagonist faction known as the Uniformers in order to decide the fate of the free will of Vanguard players!
He would later return in Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ DELUXE Arc and DELUXE Finals Arc, graduating high school and being another participate within the third Deluxe and being another obstacle and rival that the current protagonist, Akina Myodo, must surpass in order to grow!
Personality wise, Raika is a very serious and headstrong man who plays Vanguard in order to aspire to be like his idol, a pro Vanguard fighter named Michiru Hazama, and hopefully take down with his own strength. To do this, Raika has become a fighter that analyzes any source of information he can find about his opponent, any card they use, what their strategy is, stuff like that. Raika has always stated he produces results and is rational with making decisions in the game, always ensuring a path to victory. He's the sort of man who takes everything too seriously when it comes to Vanguard, viewing the game as- well- not a game to him. Those that play for fun are people he tends to dislike as he continues to play to win and surpass his idol. By the time of DivineZ, Raika has gotten much softer after befriending Yu-Yu and his crew, becoming a man who, while still stoic in fights and once again plays to win with any strategy he can provide, can easily warm up to others and strike a kindhearted conversation without seeming scary or angry.

Raika runs a Keter Sanctuary deck, a deck filled with futuristic knights, kings, witches, and other fantasy characters. Raika is constantly known for using the young knight that rebels against society in order to fight for what's right and for a better future, Youthberk! The Youthberk archetype focuses on a level 3 card with "Youthberk" in its name and basically revolves around having a main Youthberk with "Arms" in its name on the field and constantly switching it out during the battle phase to evolve with a skill called "RevolDress", an ability exclusive to Youthberk! RevolDress only activates if you have a Youthberk card as your leader and have an upgrade known as "Revolform" in the hand (and later in the graveyard). After Youthberk attacks, he's allowed to RevolDress into a Revolform card, giving Youthberk an extra attack! Plus, he'll gain an extra ability depending on which form it is! Since I plan on covering ALL the forms, let's talk about them!
During the will+Dress era, Raika used Youthberk "Skyfall Arms" as his ace unit! This card is very simple: discard a card in order to search the top three cards of your deck for a "Revolform" or call a card as an ally to your field and put the rest at the bottom of the deck. Then, after the battle Skyfall Arms attacks, you can place a Revolform on top of Skyfall Arms and attack again! At the end of the attack, you summon Skyfall Arms back by placing it on top of the Revolform! Youthberk has LOTS of Revolform searchers and some of them activste when they're discarded from the hand, so if you can't find one with Skyfall arms, then the many MANY searchers will find them for you!
As for the Revolforms he used during will+Dress, he uses-
Revolform: Zest - The first Revolform seen. When summoned. Youthberk deals an extra damage to the opponent and gains an extra +15,000 power.
Revolform: Gust - The second Revolform used. When placed, discard a card from your hand to gain an extra +10,000 attack and draw.
Revolform: Tempest - The third Revolform used. When placed, give the entire front row an extra +5,000 power and reveal the top two cards of the deck. Choose one of your opponent's allies with the same level as one of the revealed cards, return it to the bottom of the deck, then add ALL of the revealed cards to your hand.
Revolform: Full Blast - The combined power of Zest, Gust, and Tempest. When summoned, Full Blast checks to see if you have Zest, Gust, and Tempest on the bottom of Youthberk and gains ALL of the effects depending on which ones you have. If you have Zest, deal an extra damage to the opponent. If you have Gust, gain an extra draw. If you have Tempest, return one of your opponent's allies to the bottom of their deck. However, if you have ALL of them, then your entire front row gains +15,000 attack!
During the DivineZ era, Raika and Youthberk would evolve to reach greater heights! Skyfall Arms has evolved into Youthberk: "Skyfall Arms: Rebuild", a symbolism of Youthberk wishing to rebuild the nation he loves and Raika's growth from being alone to making long-term connections! Rebuild once again does the RevolDress mechanic and is able to either summon a Revolform on top of Rebuild from the hand OR pay a single resource the summon it on top of Rebuild from the graveyard! Plus, when a card is summoned on top of Rebuild, you discard a card from your hand to draw one! Issue is, unlike the original Skyfall Arms, Rebuild forces you to banish that Revolform instead. Although it sounds like a detriment, it plays very well with the new Revolform!
Revolform: Exist - The newest form of Youthberk (at the time of this post)! When summoned, you can make one of your allies attack again and give the entire front row +10,000 power! However, if your banishment zone has a Revolform, give the entire front row an extra +20,000 instead! Then, if you have another copy of Exist in the banishment zone, deal an extra damage to your opponent!
With all of this combined, Youthberk proves to be a VERY big threat to the meta who's STILL kicking butt even today! Experienced Youthberk players continue to beat up the meta and destroy as many top decks as possible!

The maiden you had entrusted your life to had fallen.
The last thing you remember through the visions was your guardian, Sealed Blaze Maiden, Bavsargra, being roughly and thoroughly pierced by the fierce storm created by the leader of the Skyfall Knights, Youthberk himself. With all of his might, the knight had sprung into action, leaping towards the sky and charging straight towards the shield Bavsargra had used to defend herself, only to be pierced by his spears. No matter how much Bavsargra held on, Youthberk charged his spear downwards towards the ground, using all of his strength to deal the most fatal blow he could.
All while you watched; eyes red and puffy, watching your protector fall towards the earth.
"BAVA!"
As your eyes closed, you found yourself back in reality, standing before the table used to play Vanguard while you took your sixth damage, ending the game.
"Thank you for this match," Koshiba Raika bowed towards you from across the table as he began to collect his cards, leaving you standing in shock, heart pounding with increasing fervor. As he finished cleaning and placed his glasses back on, Raika glaced at you with a look of confusion. "….(Y/N)-san? Are you alright? You haven't cleaned up."
"…that was…" you placed your hand over your heart, as you gazed at him, your eyes shining with adoration. "That was so cool, Koshiba senpai!"
Raika gazed at you with confusion before letting out another sigh. "This again? You're always like this after we fight."
"But it's true!" you gasped, pumping your fists into the air while showing off bouts of fury, doing your best to demonstrate the fight within your visions. "The way you were commanding Youthberk was like "go getem youthy!" and the way Bava was like "oh no-" and then the way they were fighting was like blam! bam! boom! and then-!"
Raika couldn't help but sigh again, readjusting his glasses. "I still don't understand the words you describe. But…" a small smile formed onto his face. "i…I'm happy to hear you enjoy each match we have."
"What was that, Koshiba senpai?"
"Nothing." Raika coughed. "Thank you for helping me prepare for the third Deluxe."
"Anytime!" you grinned as Raika walked away before cleaning your cards as well.
"Honestly, what do you see in him?" You could hear Bavsargra whisper within your mind, pouting as she watched you grinned. "You're always swooning over him, even when he tries to completely murder me."
"Sorry, Bava.." you released an awkward chuckle. "But…he's just so cool…I've gotta keep up with him. And for that, I've gotta train hard! Oh, and I've gotta purchase your new upgrades too!"

Let's start with Mitsuru!
Without diving into a lot of spoilers, Mitsuru Kirijo is one of the playable characters within Persona 3. She's first introduced to the player after the player wanders into Iwatodai Dorm, the place where you'll be staying for the time being. Mitsuru tasks Yukari Takeba with showing the player around the dorms and the school you will attend together! However, Mitsuru secretly watches over you, wondering if you have the potential she's looking for...what potential is that? To be a Persona user! When the devilish Shadows attack the dorms, the player awakens to their Persona in order to save everyone as Mitsuru deems that you are strong enough to handle the dangerous missions...and so, Mitsuru scouts you to be part of the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad and fight the Shadows!
Personality wise, Mitsuru is a very elegant woman whom everyone looks up to. Being from a rich family, Mitsuru is always very calm and polite to everyone around her but will not hesitate to insult someone if they disgust her. She's mature and always calm, always ready to give advice when necessary. Surprisingly, she enjoys a good fight and kicking ass whenever she's fighting Shadows. She's also a bit sheltered and can be socially awkward and oblivious to a few things.
Mitsuru has three different voice actors. Her Japanese voice actress is Rie Tanaka who's known for voicing Himeko Murata from Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail, Lisa Imai from Genshin Impact, Kiara Sesshion from the Fate series, Lacus Clyne from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Neptune/Purple Heart from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, Rosetta from Granblue Fantasy, Matia from Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Aphrodite from Record of Ragnarok, Mimori Mizuha from Blue Archive, Hikari Kujo/Shiny Luminous from Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, and so much more!

During Persona 3 Reload, the entire cast of S.E.E.S was replaced which means Mitsuru did as well! Megumi Okura is one of the main characters within the new era of Vanguard known as Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress. She belongs to a wealthy family and attends Dreamland Wonder Hill, an abandoned amusement park that is the home of the Vanguard team known as Team Blackout where everyone can be free and feel protected under the darkness of the night. Although she's had many ups and downs, she's grown into a very independent woman as of Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ and has entered university while becoming the new leader of Team Blackout!
Personality wise, Megumi is a very headstrong woman who can be refined and distinguished when she wants to be, but wild when she wants to let loose! She's very good in her academics and sports but can get very competitive and excited way too easily. She's someone who values self-reliance and wishes to rely more on herself than her family's wealth in order to live while also leaning on her friends from time to time when she needs to. While she hates losing, she loves having fun even more and continues to hold the values of Team Blackout close to her heart!
Megumi is voiced by Amane Shindou who's known for voicing Mashiro Kurata from BanG Dream! Girls Band Party, Mikage Yakumo from Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record, Haruna Kasuga from D4DJ, HMS Hero (H99) from Azur Lane, Icicle Yeti Cookie from Cookie Run: Kingdom, Kurumi Haraga from The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You, Smart Lady from Kamen Rider 555 (Pronounced Faiz) 20th Paradise Regained, and so much more!
Megumi's main deck was the same as her older brother. Both of them use the Sylvan Horned Beast archetype which are beasts that roam the nation of Stoicheia and are loyal to their king, Magnolia. Back during the beginning of overDress, Megumi's ace was Sylvan Horned Beast King Magonlia who's a very basic deck that allows you to gain more attacks! As I've explained before, there's three rows you can summon units to; three in the front and three in the back. Normally, the units in the back row can't attack, but Magnolia allows them to attack with his skill! Magnolia chooses a unit to attack from the back row and gives it an extra +5,000 power! But if you Persona Rode this turn (aka placing a unit with the same name on top of the other unit), Magnolia chooses the entire back row!
While Magnolia has gotten so many support cards and two new upgrades, Magnolia would get a new form when Megumi got reintroduced in DivineZ Season 3! Megumi's new Magnolia upgrade is called Sylvan Horned Beast Emperor, Magnolia Patriarch who calls a Sylvan Horned Beast from the graveyard on summon! It has a continuous effect where if the opponent has a level 3 or higher Vanguard, the back row units can be used as shields to defend yourself during the battle phase AND all other units gain +5,000 power! If you Persona Rode, then Magnolia gains an extra drive check (basically think of Digimon Security Checks)! Finally, Magnolia can choose as many units (with the max being the same level as the opponent's Vanguard) and allow them to attack from the back row! The max Magnolia will ever receive with this skill is 3 since most Vanguards go up to level 3 but this still allows Magnolia to pressure the opponent! Sure, this may seem slow and Magnolia does pull off some weak numbers in his attacks, but with all the support Magnolia has received, that can quickly change! The numbers can quickly become BIG numbers and force your opponent to take at least SOME of the damage since they can't defend against all of it! After all, you've got six attacks to perform! They can't guard all of it~!

The crowd screamed as the Sylvan Horned Beast King charged head first at the enemy.
"Drive check! Overtrigger! Magnolia gains one million power!"
With a deafening roar, Magnolia crashes into the enemy, knocking them to the ground with all of his might. Their defenses were destroyed as all the guardians that had protected them were launched into the abyss when Magnolia's head connected with the body.
"And the winner is…Megumi Okura~!"
The crowd cheered as Okura Megumi raised her fist into the air with a small scream of her own. You couldn't help but chuckle. You've known Megumi for such a long time, so to see her like this brought an immense amount of joy to your heart. She was allowed to be free. Truly free. Free from all of the troubles that plagued her 24/7, free from the social conflicts she could experience, free from…everything. All that mattered here was having as much fun as she wanted.
As Megumi left the stage and wiped some sweat off of her brow, you and the rest of Team Blackout tackled her into a hug while Megumi's screams echoed throughout the stadium. "H-HEY! GUYS!"
"MEGUMIIIIIIIII!" you cried along with the others who called out her name. "YOU DID IT!!! YOU REALLY DID IT!!"
"Of course I did it!" Megumi gasped, trying to shake off the hive mind that was Team Blackout. "G-guys, I can't breathe! Get off!"
"That's enough everyone," Ishigame Zakusa chuckled, attempting to shake everyone off of the university student. "I believe (Y/N) and Megumi-san deserve some time together, correct?" Zakusa chuckled, turning towards you. You merely gave him a thumbs up as Zakusa led the others away while you and Megumi walked back to break rooms together, hand in hand.

"Meeeegumiiii~"
Megumi couldn't help but chuckle as you called her name again and again. "What, (Y/N)?"

Megumi's face blushed as she glanced away, quickly walking past you. "Dude…I thought I told you not to use that nickname..it's embarrassing…"
