Velvet pours what's left in her water jug onto the rag and holds it over her nose and mouth to block out the smoke. She closes her eyes to prevent them from watering further.

A voice calls out, asking for confirmation of her identity. Velvet sinks to her knees.

Due to the fact that Velvet's ear is burning, she forces herself not to answer--if she opens up her mouth, she'll scream.
