Seven Sentence Sunday

Eventually, I'll get around to finishing/posting this Christmas story (and the last installment of Spankmas, which is not the same), but for now have some words.
It was nearing bedtime and Carlos was playing quietly under the Christmas tree with the train track Judd had set up around it – an impulse purchase when he’d seen how fascinated Carlos was by it at the store. He had been entranced by it, watching with wide eyes at the store, one hand held in Judd’s and his feet firmly planted to watch it wind it’s way around the circular track. Carlos didn’t touch the train so much as watch it and occasionally make his stuffed horse jump over it as it came around, letting out sleepy giggles as he did.
Bathtime had came and went and Carlos had been given a present from Grace to open early and was wearing the new pajamas now. They were soft, warm, and footed, red and white striped like a candy cane and Carlos marveled over how nice they felt. He shifted a little now, bringing one hand up to rub his eyes and turned back around to find Judd and Grace watching him.
“Nini?” Carlos asked, making grabby hands for Judd.
Judd instantly got up and knelt down, picking Carlos up on his hip. “We gotta put out milk and cookies for Santa first.”
“Tanta no come,” Carlos mumbled, burying his face into Judd’s neck.
“We’ll see,” Judd said. “How about we put some out just in case?”
“We can do carrots for the reindeer,” Grace piped up softly.
Carlos sleepily picked out two cookies for Santa, setting them on a special plate Grace had gotten just for them, and a handful of baby carrots for the reindeer before Judd carried him into the nursery. Grace followed them, though usually it was one or the other around for bedtime, all three of them squishing into the oversized chair for wind down time.
“Are you ready for Christmas tomorrow?” Grace asked Carlos.
He made a humming noise behind the bottle that had been placed in his mouth, his eyes blinking heavily. They had done bathtime early that night to try and give him a little extra time to talk about the plans for the next day, but it seemed that he might not make it much longer without falling asleep.
“In the morning, Santa will have come,” Grace continued, keeping her voice light. She didn’t want to wake him more than he was. “And we’ll open presents and have breakfast.”
“B’eakfas’,” Carlos breathed softly, dropping the bottle.
“That’s right,” Judd said, picking him up to get him in the crib. “Presents and then breakfast.”
