Being a God was . . . stressful, to say the least.
Being a God with an annoying big brother, was also a pain.
Being a God with an annoyed big brother that kept trying to scold you for silly reasons, like knocking over his hat or accidentally missing a few . . important meetings, was highly unpleasant to go through.
In other words, Fujin didn't feel very good right now.
Sure, he missed a few meetings . . . And they might have actually been very important - But he was busy!
. . Okay he wasn't - But he could have been! He just lost track of time, doing . . . stuff. What stuff? Well, learning new Mortal Cultures was always important, right? Including things like going to certain shops, or spending time on the military base, or hanging out with Johnny to 'learn' 'new' things instead of sitting through some boring meeting . . . Okay maybe it wasn't so important.
But he was a God! And God's get bored sometimes too! He just wanted some time to relax from his usual busy schedule. He had so many duties to fulfill, and he thought Raiden could understand that.
Especially after the past two weeks, where highly, highly stressful. Communication with the base was weird, and certain messages weren't getting across. After too long, they finally learnt that Raiden was short circuiting some of the volts by accident, messing up the computer systems Sonya insisted they all used. To 'keep track' of what gets sent.
The whole ordeal had caused their usual duties to get pushed behind. And Fujin's little meeting skipping wasn't helping the temple get back on track.
Also, that wind that had blown Raiden's had off was not him. Not that Raiden believed him, he had also been high strung these past few days. But still, he didn't have to go and lecture him about 'improper use' of his godly powers!
"Are you angry?" a voice cut his thoughts up.
"Huh?" Fujin's eyes snapped up.
"You stare at the water as if it offends you," Nightwolf smiled as he leaned against the kitchen counter. "I can get a different cup?"
Right, he had came to Nightwolf's. Raiden had tried to stop him, but Fujin didn't really care about the scolding he was going to get, even if it made his stomach twist a bit at the thought of it.
But right now? Right now he was standing in the kitchen with one of his favorite people. And he didn't want to think about all the things he had to get back on track.
"No, that won't my necessary . . . I- My apologize, it has been a week," Fujin sighed. "Or three."
"I have heard," Nightwolf almost scoffed. "Johnny's sent me regular reports on the computer matter. A bunch of selfies with captions, the man truly loves his own face."
That should have gotten a laugh out of Fujin, but it didn't.
"The matter could have gotten fixed earlier if we had involved you," Fujin grumbled. "Atleast you have some experience with modern day tech."
"Perhaps in another life I was more skilled with it, but not in this one," Nightwolf laughed. "Would you like to speak about it?"
Fujin resisted the urge to stomp his foot.
No, he would not like to talk about it!
He wanted a nice evening, and to spend time with his nice boyfriend, and do nice things, like not thinking of all the scolding he's gotten in the past few days! Raiden's scoldings were not ones to walk away from with no tears!
"No," Fujin said. "I would not."
"Yes I'm sure! Why must you insist on speaking about it?! Why can't you just-!" Fujin stopped himself from speaking further, specially with such an angry tone. Nightwolf had done nothing wrong in the situation, he did not deserve Fujin's anger. ". . . Drop the topic, please."
Nightwolf softened a bit at Fujin's small plea. He normally wouldn't let someone speak to him in such a tone. But it was clear Fujin didn't mean to be rude. Something was bothering the man.
Nightwolf kissed his cheek, "I'm here if you need me. Perhaps some lunch is in order. No one feels good on an empty stomach."
Fujin watched as Nightwolf walked to his fridge, searching for anything edible in it. There probably was, his mother usually sent stuff over. And her cooking was nothing to joke about.
Fujin felt bad, lashing out like that.
And even worse when all Nightwolf did in response was kiss his cheek, and offered to get him food.
He didn't scold him, or lecture him, or give him a mean face.
He was just . . . nice about it.
Nightwolf froze when he heard a quiet sniff and whimper behind him. He slowly stood up, turning around, "Fu-"
"'M sorry!" Fujin exclaimed, tears already running down his face. "Didn' mean to yell at you! O-Or be mean and snappy about it! or keep secrets! I- I didn'-"
"Shh, shh, baby bear," Nightwolf gently shushed him, kicking his fridge shut and pulling Fujin into a tight hug. "Your already, Honey. You aren't in trouble, I know your feeling bad right now."
Fujin cotinued to cry in Nightwolf's arms, burying his face into his shoulder. he felt silly, crying in the middle of the nice kitchen. he felt small, and tiny, and stressed, and vulnerable.
Yet Nightwolf didn't move much from their hug. Instead lightly rubbing Fujin's back, and quietly repeating that Fujin had nothing to apologize for.
"'M sorry for yelling at you," Fujin sniffed, pulling away to rub his eyes. "Don' feel very good. Been a long week, Papa."
Papa, so he was feeling small.
Nightwolf was no stranger to inpure dropping. It rarely happened with Fujin, but he had seen it a few times.
"I bet you feel very icky, don't you?" Nightwolf asked, recieving a shakey nod. He gently wiped his baby's tears away, shushing him again. "You don't need to apoligize, Sweetheart. Do you want to cuddle on the couch and talk about it, or just cuddle?"
". . . Cuddle and talk," Fujin mumbled.
Nightwolf nodded, already leading Fujin towards the couch. He was slightly worried Fujin would go silent on him. It was a small habit he'd do when he was upset, both big and little. That's when the guessing game came into play.
Nightwolf sat on the couch, letting Fujin crawl into a ball onto his lap, silently crying onto Nightwing's shoulder.
Nightwolf gave his head a small kiss, "Can you tell me what's going on?"
"I skipped some meetings- An' Rai got mad at me!" Fujin hiccuped. "I didn' mean to skip them, honest! Lost track of time, I was doing things!"
Fun things, but Fujin didn't want to admit that.
"An' then his stupid hat got knocked off his head and he blamed me for it- But I didn' do that either!" Fujin cried, burying himself into Nightwolf's shoulder. "Didn' do it, an' he didn't believe me!"
Nightwolf gave Fujin's head another kiss, before another, and another, and very soon, he was prepping Fujin's entire face with little kisses.
It was enough of a distraction to get Fujin to giggle, pausing his crying with his Papa's silly actions.
"Well that doesn't sound like a very fun week," Nightwolf said when Fujin's tears finally subsided. He wiped his face with his sleeve.
"Not fun at all," Fujin agreed, resting his head back on Nightwolf's shoulder.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Nightwolf asked. "I thought we came to each other when bad things happen."
"You would have scolded me," Fujin frowned. "For skipping meetings an' stuff."
"Not when your this upset," Nightwolf corrected him. "Never when your this upset."
Fujin huffed, as if he didn't fully believe Nightwolf. And maybe he didn't. The man was pretty strict sometimes.
"Would you like me to scold him for you?" Nightwolf offered. "It seems like he's been very mean recently."
That got Fujin to laugh a bit, "Really mean," he agreed. "And stupid."
"Now that's not nice," Nightwolf gently scolded, making Fujin whine. He wasn't going to lecture Fujin about skipping important meetings, especially when his baby seemed so down already. But he couldn't stand him being mean either. "No, you know that's not nice. Even if he is being mean, we shouldn't call him stupid."
". . . Papa's mean too," Fujin hide his smile.
Nightwolf raised an eyebrow, "Oh really now?"
"Mhm, really mean," Fujin giggled. "So mean that he should make me a snack!"
"What about lunch?" Nightwolf asked. "Don't you want some real food after a bad week?"
"Snack!" Fujin insisted, already trying to drag. "An' I get Papa's blankie!"
"And my blanket?" Nightwolf huffed-laughed. He had an extremely fluffy one back in his room, one that little Fujin just adored.
Well . . . whatever made his baby smile.
