Pope the Performer or Popee the Clown is a children’s anime widget series and the directorial debut of CGI animtion director, Ryuji Masuda, which aired on the Japanese, all animated children's television station, Kids Station, from 2001 to 2006.
Plot
the show is set in a circus in the middle of the desert and mainly revolves around two circus performers; Popee, a 17-year-old self absorbed, arrogant and mean-spireted clown in a pink and white striped bunny/cat costume who desperately wants to be the star of the show by mastering every trick in the book and takes out his frustration on his friends if he fails in these attempts, and Kedamono, a 25-year-old purple wolf in orange boxers and ever changing koh mask who is offten at the receving end of Popee’s psychotic outbursts. other characters include Papi, Popee’s flamboyant father and owner of the circus, his elephant car, Paola, an alien and a frog.
