@myplasticadversary Logan and CGK?
Oh yeah that was a wonky way of me saying I think girl Kendall would be more oriented to R&B than hip-hop, but I do definitely see your idea of her and girl Stewy being rap groupies and acting very weird about Megan Thee Stallion!
lol thanks for getting my cara reference! lol cara is a weirdo with a long history of fetishizing black women so her following and blatantly lusting after megan at an event was so uncomfortable that even the white queers couldn't defend her for once.
Anyways, kenstewy being rapper groupies is already canon in my book but it takes a different flavor with them both being women like, they would star in music videos, date them, follow them on tour, get papped with them, party with them and get exited over a shout out in a song made by a rapper that they fucked lol.
Now if ken was an r&b girlie rather than a rap fan then i feel like she would be into brandy, whitney, janet or mariah carey instead because those are the women who ran the genre during the 90's/ken's coming of age years so although i see the beyhive ken vision, i simply can't shake the fact that they're both the same age (bey is a few months younger) so ken being a hardcore janet stan or a lamb (mariah fan) is funnier and makes more sense to me lol.
Also if cis girl ken was a hardcore r&b fan then she would have dated usher at one point instead of being a rapper groupie.
I've decided the perfect recipe for cis girl Kendall is: Tahani Al-Jamil (philanthrocapitalism and name-dropping to cope with being the inferior sibling) + Rebecca Bunch (eager theatre kid with a neglectful dad and emotionally abusive mom) + Dee Reynolds (insecure egomania, substance abuse and being the butt of everyone's jokes)
Thinking more about the familial divide in CGKU between Roman/Logan/Shiv and Connor/Kendall/Caroline, with Caroline only really starting to appreciate Kendall after Roman and Shiv are born by comparison, trying to get from her what she lost in her pregnancies. On the one hand the intimacy of taking care of her mom does make Kendall feel useful, but she resents always having to be the one to give and not receive, and on the other hand Caroline is a bit jealous of Kendall liking Connor more than her because his affection is so unconditional. Caroline and Logan both play a part in portraying Connor as "perverted" for their closeness, mostly as a way to retroactively justify abandoning and ostracizing him, and Roman greatly absorbs it both to affirm his own status and to take out the anger he can't express toward Logan.
Shiv hates being grouped in with Kendall and Caroline, partially because it means being turned away by Logan and pigeonholed as A Girl and also because Kendall gets to be their mom's darling while Shiv is treated like the antichrist. (Caroline does probably see her as less evil and more nuanced as she grows up but still overall *ruined* by her father) Shiv's view of Kendall really is a lot like hers of Tom in canon, in that she's a pathetic two-faced suck-up but also the only one she really feels secure going to for support and being vulnerable with.
I think girl Kendall's whole deal is that she really wants to embody this cultural ideal of what a mother or eldest daughter should be and be emotionally and physically available and doing tasks around the house in the hopes that if she just keeps putting in the effort unlike Caroline she'll receive appreciation from her family, but whenever she tries to help she's just comically mystified as to how anything actually works. Amelia Bedelia vibe
I am very interested in your thoughts on yuri Kenstewy if you have any
Oh I definitely do! To the point where this is gonna get kinda convoluted lol
So the thing about cis girl Kendall universe (CGKU) is that she is very much not the Kendall we know, as she's treated very differently and develops a different set of issues in being bumped from the top of the sibling hierarchy to the bottom (maybe even below Connor but depends on the context). At the same time though, she does still have a core of Kendallness to her that expresses itself in a way that's almost like an inverted echo of her canon self.
For example, instead of being Logan's number one boy, that role is split up between Shiv as the favorite and Roman as the heir while Kendall is more pushed onto Caroline, and since she's the oldest that also helps in them having a relationship that more resembles bitchy toxic girl friends rather than a mother and daughter. Though Caroline doesn't have the same power to groom her the way canon Logan does, Kendall does still grow up feeling intrinsically attached to her and despairing about not having her approval no matter how she tries to be the daughter she wants.
Anyway, all that is to say that girl Kenstewy would be similarly flipped, with Caroline feeling hostile and competitive toward Stewy and Logan having a kind of creepy admiration of her, which also makes Kendall feel very insecure and jealous and threatened by her friend. Basically think Shauna/Jackie meets Anthy/Utena. Stewy on the other hand still hates Logan but is kinda trying to use his interest to her advantage so she can get ahead and someday rip his guts out.
Please talk at me about cis girl Kendall 🥺 she's all I got in this cruel universe
