Most of Binks no Sake is just pretty descriptions of sailing an ongoing journey, but the last line stuck out to me. (I looked up the English lyrics, and it looks like they kind of didn’t translate the last bit all that accurately for the sake of making it rhyme?)
It goes: 果てなし あてなし 笑い話/hatenashi, atenashi, waraibanashi.
-nashi as a suffix means ‘without,’ while hate is ‘end’ and ate is ‘aim/purpose’ so hatenashi, atenashi means basically ‘never-ending, aimless,’
But the word that REALLY caught my attention is the last one, waraibanashi. It means ‘funny story.’
Or, to be a bit more literal-
...laugh tale.
Fairy Tail 488: My reactions/opinions:
You know, it’s funny. I once wrote an AU fanfiction of how Gajeel had died, and left Levy behind with two children, leaving her to be a badass mama and raise them on her own.
THAT DOES NOT FUCKIN’ MEAN I WANT TO SEE IT THOUGH.
Anyway, I’m sure Gajeel will be brought back somehow. I mean, I’m sure Mashima is just trolling us.

The only way this could possible not work would be if she were pregnant with his kid/s and have Levy be the kick-ass mom we know she would be. Then I can semi-forgive him with a bitter-sweet ending for her (but this is just my opinion).
I’m about 84% sure that Gajeel will come back. But that doesn’t mean it still doesn’t hurt.

The Guild: Yeah, Lev?

THOUGHTS ON FT CH 488:
I like how this morning I was all like, "There's nothing to be sad about, GajEvy is canon, and I couldn't be happier." I come home, bright eyes, I read the chapter, and I see my boy Black Steel over here getting sucked down with Hades. "My life is so sad, this is my breaking point." Not even that, but I have never disliked Mest/Doranbolt more than I have right now. The guild had a chance of living, and he goes and ruins it, thinking "Oh we're safe now." Dude, that's going to make everyone in Alvarez riot. Plus, you just sort of framed Brandish for killing her grandfather. And, you killed the user of all magic. How can you not have the realization that you did something very wrong? Bottom line here: I'm sad. I want Gajeel back. Mest is an idiot. Chapter 488 is where the ish gets real...
I don't think Gajeel is dead, but I would like a delay between now and his return. If he comes back too soon, the impact of his "death" may have not a enough time to sink in for the rest of the cast outside of Levy and Pantherlily.
