This is another one I feel is probably censored in the official translation, tragically, but Doflamingo calls Crocodile ワニ野郎/wani-yarou which literally means ‘crocodile bastard.’
And then shortly after, Crocodile reciprocates by calling Doflamingo フラミンゴ野郎/furamingo-yarou (‘flamingo bastard’) and also blasting him away with a massive sandstorm.
in the midst of battle
I think Luffy swears- like actually swears, as an expression of anger and frustration, not just insulting people- more in Marineford than he does in any other arc. Which, I mean, checks out. He’s got reason. Specifically, he uses the word くそ/kuso a lot during this arc, which is one of the more foul swear words in Japanese and which he rarely uses otherwise.
how is renji single-handedly doing the coolest shit in this entire series. what the hell.
