certainly it had just been a normal night for Aether. get out there, get some drinks, have some fun on his own, but there was always that kind of annoyance when being attractive - like he was certain he was - and it was drunk girls that couldn't understand no. it made him understand so much better the way women probably felt every day of their lives, and honestly he didn't really want to keep living it. letting out a sigh as one more attempt, Aether grabbed his glass, walking over to a stranger, and tapping on his shoulder. "hey. play it cool. i've got a case of annoying drunk white girl that can't take no for an answer, can you pretend to be my boyfriend for a few minutes?"
"are you good at names?" random question out of nowhere. Aether just didn't know who else to ask, and this bunny he was carrying was a bit too heavy for him to go around asking for multiple names to a bunch of different people. "see, i wasn't expecting to get a pet, but then i saw this cute bunny rabbit, and it has the same mark as i do, here." he pointed at the four-pointed stars on the rabbit's back. "so like, it felt like an evidence that i had to get it, but i have no idea what to call him.. her..? it." he frowned, taking a long moment to think. "...do you know how to tell if a rabbit's a female or a male?"
lately, things didn't go normally for Aether. weird dreams, weird pains, things that seemed so real but that were clearly fantasy showing up in his brain when he didn't want it to, and hell even alcohol didn't seem to prevent the strangeness from becoming even weirder. so, sitting out there, still looking up at the sky, he was attempting to figure out within his own mind why it all felt so strange. why shooting stars and the night sky felt like home? without so much looking away from the sky, he eventually spoke up to the nearest person. "hey. you ever had dreams that feel so much like the truth you don't know what to believe in anymore?" he asked, confused about his own question himself. "i mean.. it's usually clear when dreams are dreams. you dream, you wake up, you realize it was just a dream, but like.. you ever dreamed of a home that feels more like home than the place you lived in your whole life?"
Was that MAXENCE DANET-FAUVEL? Oh no no, that was just AETHER, a canon character from ( GENSHIN IMPACT ). They are twenty-five years old, use he/him, and are not aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.

— how long has Aether been here? where has he been pulled from in the fandom?
as far as he knows, Aether has been there for his entire life. born and raised in Washington DC with his family and his sister. he believes to know the entire city by heart, no issue on getting around or anything as such.
in reality, Aether arrived in Washington without any of his memories about a year ago, false memories set in his brain instead at that point. from canon, he comes from the latest archon quest (Akasha Pulse) as the Abyss Prince. (no memories of it as of now)
what is Aether's job?
fake memories, while being more into traveling and going around the world, Aether settled into a more common and calm lifestyle since a few months, he works as a cook in a fast-food restaurant since then. however, he will constantly mention that his dream job is to be an explorer and photographer.
in reality, while not really a job, Aether is the Prince and Commander of the Abyss Order of Teyvat.
has any magic affected Aether?
magic has affected Aether a lot. he doesn't remember anything from his world, only getting strange dreams, nightmares that makes sleeping close to impossible, makes a scar on his chest that strangely looks like a star burn so painfully he can not ignore it.
in his current false memories, Aether believes that his family and he stopped talking years ago, divergence of opinions making it that he had to leave and that he'd now rather not speak to any of them.
