The first time Ash ever met the Sanders, he was still a fairly fresh NHL player, it was during a home game, he had no idea or paid no attention to the celebrity guests watching the show, it's LA, most celebrities would either be an LA or Ducks fan and every other day there's some star in the crowd. Apparently they made a big deal about the Sanders family coming to watch the game. But Ash's focus is solely on the ice and nothing else, winning it easy with the team. Afterwards he had bumped into a man in the hallway, catching up a storm about hockey and everything in between, unknowingly striking a delightful conversation with some very famous actor. The next game he showed up again with his sons, Ashton still clueless to who they were, treating them as normal as possible, until someone saw him and told him who he was even talking to. Perhaps that was also what grew the actor and his family to chatting up the young player, and the rest was history with a friendship and bond there. Maybe it was an honor being they're favorite player, but because they were stars, but rather it was impactful for someone to like a young player and have full faith in him. Now, they would always go for a drink after the game if they came to watch!

While he knows Viv is more into ballet with Aggie's class, Ash always secretly wondering if Viv might be interested in hockey too, a ballet hockey girlie is a fun combo! He always gives Eric an open invite for Viv to come by, see the class, see if she'd like to try it out, get on skates and all that jazz. Ash would never push though, hey, maybe if anything on the ice she might look up to the pretty glittery Ruth for figure skating instead.

Eric convinced Ash to grow out his hair once just to see what it looked like because he said he'd look at a good cowboy. Ashton only did it because Eric dared him to, but only if he did it too, grow it out like Zach. It was harder for Eric to keep it growing with the projects he had to do while Ashton had the whole summer. It went through an awkward length phase, long phase, manbun phase, and now Ashton will never do it again. Too much hair, gets in his way on the ice.

Ash play tests games for Zach a lot because he has no background in games and that's the best kind of low bar of play testing. Ashton is also very blunt with his comments and tells Zach like it is, and they'll try to work through solutions sometimes. Zach started leaving easter eggs for Ash in his games once in awhile and sends pictures of them to Ash so that he'll know, because let's be real Ashton will support what he can, but that man will never be able to truly play through a game and catch any of those.

I'm firstly obsessed with the fact the Ria and Ash's friendship is so nuanced and strained under pretense that everything is ok????? It's so beautiful and so painful and I'm in LOVE.
