hey #rarlnation. i did technically move to @steelcorpses but i felt like i should post here. lowkey missing this blog. still writing in which ron anderson survives, somehow, and i did update volume one a couple of weeks ago. i'm working on a third chapter for that, of which i've written around 470 words

i really do appreciate the walking dead having so many southern main characters with thick accents -- and not only that, but generally not portraying them as stupid, uneducated, or incapable of growth. rick, maggie, and daryl stand out to me a lot, but even side characters/characters w less screentime (beth, hershel, shane, lori, etc.) all felt super complex, realistic, well-rounded... love that

#i didn't grow up in the South south but i did grow up in a part of virginia that features pretty heavily in the show #so to see characters from there and beyond be capable of leadership empathy intelligence nuance etc. means a lot 2 me <3 #like does that make sense? i hope it does. i know there's a lot of negative stereotypes around southerners and their culture floating aroun #be that in media or in real life #and a lot of it stems from classism and just a general lack of empathy from northerners and city folk to the struggles of southerners #i really like that twd defies those stereotypes #oc #the walking dead
