Raya your thoughts on Sisu?
Raya is quiet for a moment, she crosses her arms, grinds her teeth.
“I spent twelve years of my life learning everything I could about her. All the myths---the legends, the rules. The exact way that Sisu wanted us to eat, drink, sleep, bathe, fight, and pray. According to my Father, Sisu connected all of us. If we honored Sisu, if we honored every custom from our guests---we would all be blessed&we could be ‘greater than the sum of our parts’.”
“But that was all a lie.” She smiles, huffing out mirthless laughter. “I’ve met Sisu. Sisu couldn’t connect a bamboo pin to a banana stalk. Sisu has no idea what she’s doing---And Sisu wasn’t looking down at us from the sky, blessing the rain---she doesn’t know anything about us!”
“...But she doesn’t have to.” Her lip quivers, until it forms a fine, firm line. “She just has to bring my Dad back. And then... She can do whatever she wants.”
