The event proved to be more eventful than Sirius had anticipated from a book launch. The free drinks had surely put people in a party mood, and they certainly took advantage of it.
As did Sirius. He brought over another round for him and Marlene. She was one of his usual party companions, and it felt comforting to throw back some drinks in her presence. The lying comforts of familiarity and normality.
“So, have you met Gilderoy?” Sirius asked, sipping the drink. “He’s sure managed to turn something that sounds boring into a party, huh?”
