Yes, I know it's Karisu. Reading Tokyo Chronos is really warping my brain folds, but in a way that is specifically fueling my re-editing... I swear, I'm trying really hard not to project Nema onto the panels, but it's getting increasingly difficult...!

Currently feeling torn in multiple directions. I've BEEN back from my weeklong birthday-gift vacation to Maui. I've reset. I've spammed photos on my personal accounts. But now the email I've been using for decades is yelling at me that it's gonna start bouncing back emails sent to it because I guess that's how full it is... Very cool of me? I'm mostly certain it's because of decades' worth of roleplay content in there. So... even though I'm feeling the pull to go in for round two of The Re-edit, it seems like if I want to keep using the email account in question, I'm gonna have to move the roleplay content elsewhere. Somehow. Some way. I have a possible plan brewing... I guess I'm hoping that maybe once I get the ball rolling on that, it'll actually progress quickly and I can go from there to The Re-Edit? My fingers are itching for it.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Nema~!

(I just really weirdly like doing these posts, okay? XD)

She’s only 3 and still has absolutely no idea what’s going to become of herself. Perhaps that’s a good thing, considering all the trouble. Though at this age, she’s starting to reach out and ask for things... In some ways, simple things.

Picking out her clothes, dressing herself. Sara notices fast that her little girl leans much more toward dresses than she does pants and prefers warmer colors over cooler tones, and buys her clothes accordingly, though in a way it breaks her heart to see her daughter consistently dirty up the frillier numbers. Sara had never been much for needle and thread, but had to learn how to mend all those clothes. She never let little Nema touch the needles at such an age, but let her watch, not knowing that one day Nema would be more than happy to spend time stitching fabric together.

But she’s also asking about friends. Pointing at posses of children on TV and saying plainly, “I want friends.” Of course, her parents know she should have friends... It’s just hard to go about such a thing when they carry the stigma, the invisible mark that they do. Moving to a different part of town hadn’t done as much as they would have liked to avoid that stigma. Their faces, the color of their hair gave them away... But they know their daughter needs to have friends, so they talk and they try. Public play dates in parks... they’re very much the new family, no connections and shy. Their daughter eager, but never seeming to make a lasting bond with anybody. The Mudou parents can’t help but be angry because they knew it would happen - that their ‘stain’ would transfer itself onto their child, contrasting too loudly against the paleness of her skin. It wasn’t fair, and they’d take her home from those play dates upset that they had to be who they were and that their daughter had to pay the price for it.

But they smile and they ask her if she had fun, and always she said yes. And always Sara mended her clothing while letting Nema watch her TV shows, and always Nema would plainly say, “I want friends.”

One day you’ll have friends, Nema. A plethora of friends from places you can’t conceive of, more powerful than you can imagine...

Happy 2nd Birthday, Nema!

I did this last year for her first birthday, and now here I am doing it again. XD (And yes, if you didn't know or had forgotten, I was able to trace time in Impy to narrow down a birthday for her. Because I'm insane.)

At two years old, today, she's the age that her future daughter Isobelle is within the timeline of Layers. That said... she's more mouthy than her future daughter. She still has many words to learn, but the ones she does know, she uses often, and fills the gaps with scribble speech. A year ago, her priorities and concerns were the presence of her parents, toys, food. Now she's pickier about those concerns. Her parents have to hold her just so, have to let her go when she says. Her toys need to be in THIS place and not THAT place - her messes aren't messes; she is fixing things up so they are right, in her mind. Isobelle's terrible two's may be quite mild, filled more with friendly babble and tear fests when the air in the room gets too heavy with stress, but her mother's lived up to the name.

But that would be the precursor to the leader of the Revolution. One day those words, and the urgency to use them and to learn more, would guide Nema's speeches so that she could guide people. A desire to rearrange things so that they are right would turn into the desire for justice, for equality, a call to make Heaven right, or at least closer to right. One day the stubbornness that made her parents want to tear their hair out, would be the very thing that made them so proud...

But that's the future. Today is all about how two-year-old Nema doesn't need to be carried because she has a tricycle, and how the blocks HAVE to be left halfway through the holes in the wooden slab, and the puzzle HAS to be left put together because SHE WORKED REALLY HARD ON THAT, and also, her tricycle is staying in the living room. In the middle of the floor.
