shiv becoming the one thing she never wanted to become: her mother. stuck in this loveless marriage but ultimately, it's the best outcome for everyone. she breaks the cycle for both roman and kendall, knowing it'll be the best for them even if it's the worst thing for her.
kendall was becoming too much like their father, continuing the cycle of misery that logan had enforced for decades, even becoming an absentee father just like logan had been to them. roman was never going to be ceo, we all knew this from the very beginning, and roman getting out of the company and finally getting a chance to heal from the humiliation and abuse he's endured all his life... incredible ending for him. ken, ultimately, was never going to suffice as ceo. he was never logan, and he could never fill the shoes no matter how hard he tried.
shiv took the fall for everyone. tom becoming ceo, ultimately, is the best thing bc the company gets to stay within the family without the cycle of abuse from the roy family continuing. she will hate her life, she will hate her husband, and there is a good chance at the end of the day once everything is over - she will hate her children. one day, in the future, she'll have a conversation and say she should've had dogs instead of kids but you know what - shiv broke the cycle for everyone else but herself.
