"You had a friend right?"
on another note, has anyone else taken notice of how terrifying mutzuki has become as of recent? i mean from how she started and where she is now? like i am genuinely afraid.
…I’m sorry but as horrible as he’s been…keeping up with the manga and all…I just feel so sorry for him for some reason…..
Although I know people are going to be hating him for a while in the anime, considering what we may be in for in the next chapter after seeing this on the last page I can’t help but think that there is a definite and pitiable reason as to why he created such a discriminatory system of the “strong and the weak”; as well as an obsession for victory.
Looking at this backflash you can tell that his life as a teacher back then wasn’t all that different from Korosensei and Class E’s; especially since it’s the same building that they are using now.
And knowing the kind of happiness and fulfillment it brings to them, you wonder how this could have gone so wrong in the end.
To me the answer is simple; the results.
True he was probably a really great teacher who was open-minded, fun, and tried to adjust his style to the students so that they would learn something when attending his classes.
But what their parents probably wanted-and the world in general for that matter wanted-from him wasn’t that they get a decent learning experience. They just wanted them to be successful in life and not end up as something that is worthless and insignificant to society.
He probably didn’t want to do that since he knew each child required their own specific style of learning, but that probably backfired on him in probably the worst way a teacher could think;
The parents would take their students out of his class to send them to schools that would enforce that style that they expect for their child.
Can you imagine how sad and miserable he was to see the students he cherished go to other schools? Or to hear parents say things like his style of teaching wouldn’t produce good results if anyone sent their kid to his cram school?
I can definitely imagine it was a terrible feeling for him, and unfortunately warped him into the person he is now.
But deep down he is simply a teacher who truly loves to do his job, and has a deep fear and insecurity that it will be taken away from him, which is why he’s starting to act that way these last few chapters.
And talking about him like this I can’t help but come to think of him as one of my favorites in this series too, and hope Korosensei will help him through his “re-improvement and maintenance.”
And after reading ch.125, it looks like my intuition was right about him. ;;;; A ;;;
When I really think about it, there are really only two main reasons why people become teachers...
To show off their successes....and to show off their failures.
...Which one are you, Director Asano?
