1) The most unrealistic thing to happen this entire arc is having the Shandorians be instantly cured after a single shot (yes this includes Conis’s dad surviving being struck by lightning)

3) Dancing shadows are an important, recurring visual motif throughout the arc, starting way back in Jaya. First when the Straw Hats make friends with Cricket and the monkey brothers

Then there’s the Straw Hats dancing around the fire before their big gold hunt, the Shandorians celebrating their victory over disease now during the flash back, and finally at the very end of Skypiea when Luffy acts as the link between Shandoria and Skypiea

And of course, let’s not forget seeing the shadows of the Shandorians was the kick start this saga, and Cricket seeing Luffy in the sky acts as a sort of thematic end cap as well.

All that to say, yeah. Shadows are important to Skypiea

Can we just appreciate that Shiggy has been solo tanking for 15 chapters against Rock Lock, Manual, Eraserhead, Gran Torino, Shoto, Bakugou, Deku and ENDEAVOUR and he’s STILL STANDING?!

Like sure he’s a lil crispy-fried and he’s slowed down a bit but holy shit he has both tanked and dealt so much damage and he’s still not going down and that’s a hell of a lot of power stacked against him

Ahm...

First... What's with the title of this chapter? Sounds like the title of a very cheesy song or smth. Also, can someone tell me since when Shokugeki no Sōma became the typical mexican novel? What the hell is that freakin' weird (for the tone of the series, I mean) Asahi's past? Now he'll be the usurper?! (for God's sake, there's even a soap opera named like that). Just WTF. WHAT THE ACTUAL FFFFFFFF??!!

At least Erina appeared, but the general tone of the chapter got me thinking that I was reading a different story/manga (did I hit the right manga when choosing from the list? THIS IS REALLY THE LATEST SNS CHAPTER?)

Aaaaand I'm assuming here that Asahi have around 20-21 yrs and Sōma currently have 15 yrs in the story (if I'm not mistaken) soooo, Sōma probably had 9-10 yrs when his mom died but ofc, again, this is me assuming everything.

I got a lot of thoughts about this chapter, but welp, maybe I'll share them later, or maybe not hahaha. But for real, WHAT'S WITH THE TONE OF THE LATEST CHAPTER?!

Also... Is the next stage of BLUE about an S&M task...? Because it totally looked they're gonna pick up who will be the dominant and who will be the submissive... 🤔🤔🤔

I think Oda does a good job of showing that the Shandorian’s tradition of human sacrifice isn’t borne out of malice or a desire for bloodshed. They truly have no idea what’s causing the sickness. The village is suffering, and if nothing changes they’re all going to die. They look to their past, their faith, for answers, because that’s what they’ve always done, and placed their entire hope in that by killing some, the rest might survive.
