Stylish Stacia
The other day I had a chance to sit down with one of Cha Cha's newest faces, Stacia Gambrell. Yes, she is in fact married to Joshua who has already done his time in the hot seat. On this beautiful fall day we grabbed some coffee and settled in to see what's behind the pretty face and stylish glasses. Here's what she had to say:
T: When did you know you wanted to be a hairstylist?
S: Well, I went to college and majored in Art Studio...my mom was like, "You won't make any money doing that". And after college, I was like, yeah, don't really think I'm going to make it as a painter for a career. So I enrolled in Cosmetology School, and the funny thing is my mom had this memory of one time after I got all my hair cut off. I was sitting in the backseat, and said to her: "I think I'm going to be a hairstylist." My mom said, "No, don't do that...." (laughs) I have NO memory of this day at all! Though looking back, I always did my friends' hair for homecoming and prom. So it was always there.
T: If you could have one super power, what would it be?
S; Oh, to be invisible
T: You are having a party, what five guests would you invite? (living or dead)
S: Oh wow...um
T: It's okay, you can take your time
S: Prince, Elvis, Jackie Onassis, Anna Wintor...and Billy Idol
T: What do you miss about New York?
S: I miss being able to walk out of my apartment and see inspiration, and the variety in the streets...the overall vibe of the city is just unique.
T: Ok, rapid fire question, what's one thing you can't live without?
S: Coffee!
T: What is something you think is a Kentucky landmark?
S: Wow, my first thought when you say Kentucky is the distilleries. I mean the city of Lexington pretty much revolves around horses, basketball, and bourbon.
T: So what's it like working with your husband?
S: I love it, I think it's nice because I actually enjoy spending time with him. (smiles and shrugs) We can be kind of opposite on a lot of things but we work well together.
(Joshua walks over to see how the interview is going, and they start comparing answers. "Can you guess my number one for my party guests?," Stacia asks. Joshua pauses for a second then answers, "Prince?" "Yep." she looks over at me with a smile.)
