Fixing Andorra, Chad, Moldova, and Romania
These are the flags of Andorra, Chad, Moldova, and Romania. Notice anything?
They're all the same fucking flag. Andorra and Moldova at least bothered to put their coats of arms in the center, but Romania and Chad are literally identical--the only difference being a minute variation in the shades of the colours. I've decided to redesign these flags so that they are all unique and stand out, not only from each other, but also from the plethora of other triband flags.
Romania
Romania actually gets to keep it. They've had this design for longer than anyone else, and they're pretty attached to it. No need to fix what isn't broken.
Andorra
I personally think that if a coat of arms is the main element of a flag, you should just eliminate distractions and make the design from the coat of arms take up the whole flag. That being said, here's a mock-up of a banner-of-arms type flag for Andorra.
Chad
This redesign is based on the coat of arms of Chad, which I always thought was prettier than the flag. It features four zigzags (or, to use a more dignified heraldic term, fesses dancetty) on a gold field, with a red sun rising above. The zigzags represent Lake Chad, and the sunrise symbolizes a new beginning and hope for a bright future.
Moldova
My redesign of Moldova's flag maintains the blue-gold-red colour scheme, which is a reference to its shared history and close cultural ties with Romania. The cross design is based on the various historical war flags used by Moldova in the 18th and 19th centuries, a design which is still employed by the Moldovan Armed Forces. The gold auroch's head on a red ground is reminiscent of the flag of the former Principality of Moldavia.
These redesigns aren't anything spectacular, but I think they're an improvement at least. While none of the existing flags are bad per se, I honestly think that no two flags should be identical, especially on the national level.
