Here's an Elvis movie that combines both the traditional Hawaiian culture and the white culture that tries to coexist. They even managed to cast former Hawaiian territory politician, Flora Kaai Hayes in a small role. Despite supporting Hawaii's statehood, she specifically asked for certain areas to remain untouched for the Native Hawaiians. She also advocated on their education committee to establish kindergartens in public schools. Let's hope her role in Blue Hawaii is just as small yet important as it was in real life.
