thank u for sending this yaar🙏🏼🙏🏼 i totally agree with what she’s saying yet it still makes me sad that in a way, not only is this with adopted kids but also kids of immigrants. like how should i say it, kids that are adopted have a right to know where they were born but they don’t have to necessarily take on the culture and everything else because they’ve grown up in westernized countries. but i’ve seen so many brown ppl who live their lives so westernized like idk how to explain it to you but religion is forgotten and so is culture because they’ve adapted and made white culture into their own. not to mention the years of colonization in india so really we are still the results of colonization in many aspects. but it makes me sad because it feels like so many people are forgetting about their heritage. like idk how else to explain it but i’m not saying we should follow every tradition like the wack ones or whatever but it’s a shame that immigrating to western countries for a better life can result in kids forgetting about their culture. i do agree with her that no one would call a white russian’s parent racist or anything else yet at the same time, i have many poc friends who are adopted and have never thought anything less of them. one of my friends is in the same position, she was born in suriname and adopted at a young age by two white parents. so she’s struggled a bit with her heritage being a black woman raised by white ppl. but i thjnk she’s come to a mutual place and i’m really happy for her! also dude india’s much more different now too, gone are the traditional suits and girls are always in modern clothes, talking about white culture basically. idk if you’ve seen but that dumb bollywood wives show on netflix legit HURTS to watch bc it’s so cringe but also they all speak in english and sound so kardashian like. it’s crazy to see how india is once again conforming to white culture and it makes me sad that who knows what will happen down the road? this adopted girl is right that her culture is american and she’s actively learning for herself but it’s a shame that with her and with us as first born canadians, it’s up to us whether we pass on traditions and language and culture to our kids :(
i hope i made sense LOL i just woke up and feel i contradicted myself multiple times.

also we got a new music station at our work and it’s absolutely CHAOTIC bc it plays butter, permission to dance, dynamite and so on.... 😐 i’m sorry but i’ve avoided those songs bc i just don’t like them and now to hear them at work???😭 who is the kpoppie at head office that is making them play these songs LOL like today i just heard written in the stars - john legend and wendy 🤨🤨 biggest question is...
