🎓 Our muses attend their child’s highschool graduation - Maya and Miles
The school stadium was filled with thousands of people - students, family members, teachers and the principal. One could easily tell who the students were as they wore black gowns and caps. It wasn’t exactly difficult to see them either.
Maya had her focus on the person speaking into the microphone. Only now and then did she take a look at Miles, the love of her life. He was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt underneath, while she had on a simple light pink dress. As the announcement of a speech was coming, they looked at each other with huge smiles on their faces. Their daughter Serena had been asked to hold the speech and she’d come to them a few weeks earlier to tell the news. Both of them had helped her, coming with some suggestions to what she could write, but Serena had done most of the writing herself. The final result was ready only last weekend, so she had spent hours reading it over and over again.
“I can’t believe she’s graduating already. It feels like she started elementary school yesterday,” Maya said. “Time flies, you know,” Miles nodded in agreement. He opened his mouth to say something more, but was interrupted by a voice from the stage before he could say anything. The time for the speech had come. Maya grabbed Miles’ hand as Serena started to speak, and there were no words in the world that could describe how proud they were of their daughter.
🏠: Our muses live together - Rose and Owen
There were still a lot of boxes left that had to be unpacked as they filled half of the apartment, but there was no rush. Owen and Rose had all the time in the world to unpack them. They had just moved into an apartment together not far away from Piccadilly Circus and though it was early in the morning, Owen could still hear the traffic from outside. He stood in the kitchen and made Rose’s favorite breakfast - a short stack of pancakes with syrup in a small container and some hot tea. She was still fast asleep in the bedroom and he hoped she wouldn’t wake up before he was done with the food.
Around twenty minutes later, the pancakes were done and the tea was ready. Owen put the food and the cup of tea on a tray and went to the bedroom with everything in his hands. The sight that met him was a sleeping Rose and he couldn’t do anything else than smile to himself. He put the tray on the bedside table, sat down carefully by her side and gently put a hand on her shoulder. “Rose?” Owen said with a low voice. He knew she wasn’t a difficult person to wake up, but he had to shake her a little before she finally opened her eyes. When she woke up, she yawned a little and rubbed her eyes to get the tiredness out of them. “Hey,” Rose said and sat up in the bed. It took her a little while to feel wide awake and as she turned her head to look at the clock, a smile appeared on her face. “You made breakfast? Oh, and it’s my favorite!” she exclaimed happily and turned around to face Owen again. He nodded in response and said “You deserve it. Here’s my surprise to you.”
Rose put the tray in front of her and started to eat. Halfway through the pancakes, she looked up at him where he sat and asked if he wanted to taste. “I thought you knew how I feel about breakfast, Halliwell,” Owen said, partly joking. “I know you more than anyone, Fletcher. And I know you want to try,” Rose replied and pointed at him with the fork. He shook his head and grinned a little. “It’s all yours so eat up. I’ll have a cigarette ready for you when you’re done.”
