Hello! I would like to adopt a full sized chain please. Also can I have a wholesome scenario too please? Thank you! ^^
*A full-sized Chain stares wistfully out of the big front windows of the Lamia (and Felid) Bittybones Adoption Center. The shop has been temporarily closed, and during that time he has watched Vex and her Chain overcoming heartache through their shared SOULbond. His wants to experience that closeness for himself, but leaving the shop is a big step... especially for someone with no feet.
*As he watches people move past on the sidewalk on their way to destinations unknown, he feels it. Someone's SOUL is calling to his! His eyelights quickly pick out a human making her way into a nearby shop. Now is the time to act! The Chain slips out through the doggy door, installed for just this purpose: Chains chasing after a potential SOULbond.
*You've just finished paying for your snack when the bell above the door of the convenience jingles. Normally, you wouldn't give the sound a second glance, but for some reason, you decide to investigate. Your mouth falls open in surprise when you spot a full-sized Chain, a lamia you've always wanted to adopt, slithering hastily in your direction. You don't even realize that you've opened your arms to him until he sweeps you into a hug, his tail tip wiggling with the same delight you feel radiating from both of your SOULs.
Credit for the lamia species (or at least the specific species, not lamia in general) goes to @vex-bittys
Keith decides to give this new girl a chance and introduces another lamia! DnD shall come whether Hux likes it or not. Coral boy is jealous.
< PREV | NEXT >
Keith and Hux had just been talking DnD with each other when a girl with short, wavy blonde hair walked into the back. Keith’s flickering tongue caught the taste of sweat, dirt, and a variety of plants. Real plants, not like the fake trees, though he could identify some of the smells as the foliage they could keep here. His soul leaped in his chest, he could feel it immediately, they were meant to be.
… According to who? Or what? Some bred in biological imperitive? It was just there to make him easier to adopt, right? But it felt real…
No.
He wasn’t going to leave Hux and the others behind. The woman didn’t seem to have even noticed anyways, so maybe he was just imagining it. Heck, he probably was. Then again, if anything was going to seduce him – something he felt was pretty impossible, he’d just never been interested – it’d probably be someone bringing their own books and homemade fucking cookies. Yes please. They smelled like chocolate and peanut butter – questionably healthy at best, but he’d take it!
… He should probably answer the question, huh?
“Yeah, nice to meet ya. Name’s Keith, I’m the DM,” Keith said, slithering down to her level.
“So, you think you have what it takes to play with the big boys?” Hux said. “Heh. How’d you even find out about that?”
“There was a sign,” the woman said. “My friends are busy with college stuff right now – I’m on break, doing work in a greenhouse and all – but my evenings are totally free. Kinda have to leave early though, have to be up before the sun. I love the job, but that part sucks.”
Keith chuckled, “I feel you there.” He’d stay snuggled in a nesting mound half the day if you let him. What? Blankets are soft, and it’s not like he had to leave to read things. Beds and blankets make reading better if anything. Prime coziness.
“I think you should look somewhere else,” Hux said. “We go until, like, two in the morning sometimes.”
Before Keith could stop himself, he found himself saying, “Eh, we can end early for a little while. Or hey, maybe have a side campaign with you or something.”
“What?!” Hux said, standing high as he could on his tail with his arms thrown out. “Dude! We’re halfway through Pipsqueak’s character arc or whatever! Can’t just push him aside…”
Pipsqueak was Trousle’s (a bitty Papython) mousefolk bard; he’d been looking for pieces of the Worldsong, a song that, once played, was supposed to give the musician power over all things. Pipsqueak had managed to get half of it and was facing down with Caterwaul, the Tabaxi bard, who had the other half. It was looking like Pipsqueak was questioning whether the song should be played by any. However it played out was going to be awesome, though it might or might not be the end of the campaign depending on how Trousle played it.
Since when did Hux care so much about that though? He wasn’t exactly a roleplayer type…
“I mean, if you guys are full or in the middle of something, I can just… not?” the woman said.
“Nah, don’t mind Hux. It’s alright, uh… What’s your name?”
“Oh! My bad. Call me Alex. You said it’s, uh… Key?”
“Keith,” Hux said, unimpressed.
“I am the actual worst at names,” Alex said, sighing.
“Eh, it happens. But I bet we can work something out.”
“We don’t need to work things out,” Hux grumbled, curling into a ball on the floor and sulking, hiding his skeleton half under a ball of black and red scales.
Keith rolled his eyes. Hux never liked change and didn’t seem too fond of people. He was tolerant of the people running the place, but no one else. That said, it was no excuse to be a dick. “Hux, be nice. Sorry about him, he’ll warm up to ya. Why don’t I take you to meet the others? We can work something out. Not like we’re going anywhere…” And that was fine by him. Home was here with his own batch of misfits. “Get Liam, will ya Hux?”
“Ugh, why do I have to?”
“ ‘Cause you can never find Trousle.”
“Why don’t I go looking for Oozy?”
“I’ll bet you a week’s snacks that Oozy’s in his hammock.”
Hux huffed and crossed his arms with an adorable blush on his face, flustered. He was, apparently, not willing to take that bet. As much as Keith liked to stay curled up all cozy, he had nothing on Oozy. It wouldn’t be the first time they had to carry him in the hammock to DnD night. Hecking cornies.
“Thought so,” Keith said, chuckling. “I’ll go get Nikolai. Hope you don’t mind kiddos, Lex.”
“Is Nikolai a kid?”
“Nope,” Keith said. “Follow me.” He slithered past the jungle of fake plants, real plants, and various toys and hiding holes that made up the dim room he liked to call the “Chilling Room.” It was a little cool in here, but mostly he called it that ‘cause this area tended to be more quiet, lacking the toys and people-chairs that littered the rest of the back. Sometimes you just need a place to be a Snake and stalk your friends for a little while, or somewhere to just hide in a hole and listen to the same song until it was playing through your dreams in utter bliss. That second one seemed unique to him.
“… I’m not gonna remember any of these names,” Alex whispered to herself. She stopped to pull some dead foliage from some of the plants, fingers working fast with practice. For a moment she paused then put a leaf in her mouth. “Stevia leaves the weirdest after taste. Not bad though. Also, why do you have stevia?”
“Is that what that is? I think the Honeybos like to chew on it.”
“Is that why they’re Honeybos? ‘Cause they’re full of sweet?”
“I mean, maybe! Never bitten into one.”
“Not even licked one?” Pause. “That’s a weird thing to ask, huh?”
“I mean, I smell with that y’know. But some of them do smell kinda sweet.” He had the oddest urge to nibble a snake now. Logically he knew they were not just little slithering sweets, but a little voice in the back of his head whispered but what if they do taste like honey buns?
Keith really hoped that voice wasn’t Alex’s. That’s just a weird thing to think. Even weirder if you aren’t a snake. “Do you stick a lot of random stuff in your mouth?”
Alex kinda went quiet, staring at the floor, and Keith tried to stifle a laugh, stopping in his tracks to look at her behind him. “Oh my god. You have, haven’t you? What’s the weirdest thing?”
“Probably either crickets, an agar plate – one of those things they grow bacteria on – or my salt lamp.”
“Can confirm, those are salty.”
“You too?”
“Nope. But Trousle dared Liam to once and he swallowed the whole thing. We had to pull it out by the chord.”
“That… That’s both amazing and dangerous.”
Keith nodded, “Yep. Never dare a Mamba to do something unless you want to face the consequences.” Looking around, he brought out his phone and showed some pictures of Liam – a full sized Mamba – with light streaming from his mouth and tail as Hux and Nikolai (a King) tried desperately to pull the lamp out. Trousle was on the table, shouting encouragement but too small to actually help. “That’s why we’re not allowed to have salt lamps anymore.”
Alex was snorting as she laughed, hand over her mouth and eyes crinkled behind glasses. “Oh my goodness. Reminds me of when I caught a baby rabbit and found out they can scream. I almost dropped it.”
“Oh no!”
“It tried to escape! But I caught it midair. And then it just stared at me, judging. Relatedly, gardening gloves have multiple uses. One of them is bunny catching. They have claws and will kick the shit out of you.”
He’s tempted to mention that’s why he just eats them, but gets the feeling that won’t go over well. Since when does he care? He’s a snake, she should know this. It’s natural.
“You like cute? C’mon,” Keith said. It was a short slither to the very back room. Alex stopped, staring at the “Staff Only” sign, but Keith gently tugged her through, “It’s fine.” The door opened up to a humid room with multiple little lamps scattered over eggs and newborns. The nursery. They were greeted with a variety of hisses and chirps from little baby snakes and a much louder hiss from Nikolai. The King’s hood flared upon seeing the stranger and he stood as tall as he could, clutching three squirming baby Pygmy (full sized, but still so small) to his chest protectively.
Alex froze up, face going blank as she stared at the sight of King’s hood and fangs, venom dripping from them. Maybe Keith should’ve warned Nikolai first, but better late than never?
“Alex, this is Nikolai. The most broody bastard you’ll ever meet. Nikolai, Alex. She wants to play DnD. And probably to also hold some kiddos, but who am I to judge?”
Nikolai narrowed his eyes, somehow keeping hold of the Pygmy as all three attempted to go in different directions, unfazed by one of them trying to put his hands in Nikolai’s eyesockets. “Keith. We need to talk.”

I liked the idea of being a helper. Not being able to see wasn’t fun, even if I only half know what that’s like. It let me bond a bit with Virgil, that first little while, both of us missing sockets.
But Valentine couldn’t see at all, so I could help them. I kept their bitty carrier secure in my coils all the way home.
“What sort of bitties are at home?” they asked as we got in the car. It took a lot of effort, at least it felt like it from the tone in their voice.
“Well, we have a lot of myth bitties at home, and quite a few snakes if you include Goggles. And then there are the puppies.” Sephy giggled about them. I knew she was in love with the big bones, and it made me happy to think about it. Made me feel more secure that our family wouldn’t fall apart.
“Puppies?” Val seemed to be confused.
“really tall skeletons with some dog features and tendencies,” I explain. the little rose leans against my scales and hums, acknowledging they heard me. “Sweet Bun is the housekeeper in the family. He’s the cook, the cleaner, and very nice. Then we have Goldie, who’s more of a lazybones, but he’s the protector kinda guy. And last is Gracey, who’s the newest pup. He’s shy and quiet, but he’s gentle to us and very enthusiastic about everybody being happy.”
Valentine seemed satisfied for a while, their fingers smoothing my scales with interest. But then they asked, “what about the myth bitties?”
“We have Dante, a Dietyrus who is very energetic but sweet,” Sephy lists off, counting on her fingers as we sit at a red light, “his Harbinger, Virgil, and their little brother, Orpheus, the Faerie. Then we have Adonis and Morpheus. Adonis is an Eastern Red, a dragon-”
“FIRE?!” Valentine yelped and crouched down in their box.
“hey, no, it’s okay,” I tried to purr to calm them. I could feel the little pings of panic from their soul, “donny never blows fire. even when he was super mad at dante once, he never used his fire. and even if he wanted to, he’d have to get through all of me first.” Poor little flower.
Sephy felt bad about it, too, I could see it in her face, “Oh, honey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. Goggles is right, Donny’s just a lazy noodle, and he’s really sweet, especially to his brothers and mate....”
“Wh-what are they?” the stammer showed they were still scared, but Valentine at least peeked their petals over the edge of my coils again.
“Morpheus is his first brother, and he’s a Lucirazz. Then we have a Dealer, Jubilee. He’s one of the sweeter red suits, a diamond, so he’ll be nice if you ask him to. And Donny’s mate is Amethyst, a Sunlust lamia bitty.”
I purr. Amethyst has been really good for our household. He made Donny happy, he helps me and Gracey and Sephy with our anxiety, and he love love loves the fact that we all like to cuddle...except Virgil, but I’m pretty sure he’s what Sephy calls a ‘tsundere’, like those cute cactus pictures she puts on her phone.
Valentine nods, “Anybody else?”
“Mmhm,” She’s turning into our apartment complex now, “I have a Chain lamia named Georgio, and I just found out yesterday that he and Wagner, his Vampyrus mate, are going to have a clutch of eggs soon.”
A soft gasp made me look down. Valentine looked nervous, “Babies?”
“Yes, babies.” Sephy slowly pulled into our spot at the end of the line. “And last we have Denim. He’s a Moonjelly naga, a classic sans type snake. He likes to boop people on the nose, but we told him to leave you be until you say it’s okay.”
Valentine has popped back up to full height, and I hold them tight while Sephy picks us up from the passenger seat. “Are the babies here yet?”
“not yet, rosey,” I explain. “Georgio and Wagner just barely told Sephy about it, and Georgio’s got his soul bond with Sephy. He’ll be kind of protective for a while until the babies are hatched and kinda big. So there’s no need to fret”
They ease a bit, and nodded again. “Okay. And they know I can’t see?”
“yep,” We’re going up the stairs so Sephy’s concentrating. She’s scared of twisting her ankle again like a few months ago, so I don’t blame her for being quiet. “usually when we take someone in from a center, we’ve all agreed they’d fit in well with us. only gracey and denim were surprise members of the family.”
They seem to relax for the most part, and Sephy gets them out of their carrier and opens the door.
“WELCOME HOME!” Sweet Bun’s voice greets us as always, and I feel Valentine jump at the sudden sound.
“Sweet Bun, remember-”
“Oh!” His voice is much softer now as he comes out of the laundry area and gives Sephy a hug. “Sorry, I forgot for a moment. Hello, little flower friend. It’s nice to meet you.”
Valentine reached out, and Sweet Bun put his finger into their hands. The pups were all at full height now, so he was over half a foot taller than Sephy now. It made me feel good that we had three tall guys here to help if something ever happened to Sephy. I know I couldn’t lift a whole human in my tiny arms.
“I do have to go organize the others, little friend. I’ll be back in a moment.” When he was let go, Sweet Bun zipped from room to room, gathering people as Sephy sat on the sofa after closing the door.
“Okay, Valentine. That was Sweet Bun. Are you okay so far?”
They say slowly, “I think so? It will take a little bit to get used to his big voice, but his small voice is good for now. Does anyone else have a big voice like that?”
“nope.” I don’t think so, anyway. Sweet Bun is the loudest of all of us. “Orpheus, we call him Fi for short, is a little loud and so is Morpheus, but they’re all way softer than Sweet Bun’s normal voice.”
“um?” I look down and Denim is there. He’s quiet, mostly, but he’s talking right now. And he actually wears shirts now. Sometimes.
“Valentine, Denim is here.” Sephy says, and their vines reach out.
“Hi, Denim.” Valentine is happy, so I’m happy.
Denim slithers closer and lets Valentine feel his face, “hi. i won’t boop you. um...what’s your name?” His voice is very very soft and I’m kind of surprised to hear it. He’s barely said a word to anyone since he came here.
“I’m Valentine. Thank you for not booping me, and I appreciate you talking softly.” Yes good. Everybody’s doing well so far.
Denim hums and nuzzles into Valentine’s hands, then backs away, “talk to you later,” and he’s off to wherever he likes to hide.
Amethyst slides up next, and I greet him. “hey, mey. meet valentine.”
“Hello, sweetheart,” Mey purrs and leans his face against my coil so Val can feel him.
“Oh. You smell nice.” Val mentions, and Mey starts to purr.
“Thank you. You smell and look fantastic, darling. Welcome home.” I had a feeling Mey would probably try to help Valentine out, too, and I didn’t mind.
“Goggles said that...that the dragon is your mate. He won’t burn me, right?” Aww, they were still worried about Donny hurting them. Poor Val.
“Oh no, he would never.” Amethyst cooed and gently kissed some of Val’s petals, earning a shy squeak, “Adonis is a tender soul who loves peace and family. And you are our family now, Valentine.”
“O-okay,” Val was blushing. and I knew things would be good. Mey could keep anybody calm.
Fi and Morpheus zoomed in, “I’M COMING, GOGGLES!” called Morpheus and Val shifted to face them as the two landed.
Fi squeaked and held out his hand, “HI! YOU’RE THE NEW FRIEND, RIGHT?”
By now, Sweet Bun was back and sat on the far end of the sofa, clearing his throat to announce his presence. Val reached out and found Fi’s hand, “O-oh, hi. Um, what is your name?”
“HE’S FI AND I’M MORPHEUS THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE!” Oh dear, M is being....well, himself. The more he grows up, the more (falsely) cocky he gets. I worry about him.
“Oh. Why are you terrible? Morpheus?” Val reached out their other hand and Morpheus seemed to realize his posing was useless and calmed down.
“BECAUSE I’M ME. AND BECAUSE IF I’M GREAT AND TERRIBLE I CAN PROTECT YOU AND FI.”
“AND I’M NOT TERRIBLE BECAUSE I DON’T WANT TO BE SCARY.” Fi answered a question no one asked. As usual for the cutie. “WE’LL HELP RAISE THE BLINDS FOR YOU TO GET SUNSHINE.”
Sephy chuckled, “That’s very kind of you, boys.”
Val hummed as he examined the two hands he was given. Fi’s wings were fluttering, and I said softly, “hey, fi, you’re awfully breezy today.”
He puffed up his cheeks and huffed, but Morpheus growled at me. Hah, cute. I love these two kids.
“Oh?” Val turned to me. “Was that a pun?”
“yeah,” I hum, “Fi was flapping his wings to make those little gusts.”
“Wings...” Val seems pleased with the idea.
“Um, if you’re ready for the others, Valentine,” Sweet Bun says gently, “they’re here. But at your pace, of course.”
Nodding, they let go of Fi and Morpheus, “it’s nice to meet both of you.”
They giggle and fly away, off to play more games.
Dante whines and puts his head on Sephy’s knee. I realize he can’t directly communicate with Val because he can’t speak. “virgil? would you mind translating for your bro?”
“It is my solemn duty and only joy,” Virgil huffs and appears on Dante’s head. “Valentine, you are in the presence of the great diety known as Dante, and I am Virgil, translator and brother of Orpheus.”
There are several groans and coos from Dante, and he signs while he makes them, for the benefit of the rest of the family (and so they can correct Virgil if he tries to twist the words).
“My god wishes you to know he is also blind, traditionally speaking, and can only sense the world through his amazing extra senses.” Val reached out their vines and was gently analyzing Dante’s face while Virgil talked. “Welcome to our divinely cultivated family.”
Val’s vines slip over Virgil, too, who is surprisingly patient with them. “Hello, Dante, Virgil. Thank you.” When the vines withdraw, so does Dante’s head.
Sephy says softly, “Are you doing okay, Valentine?”
“Um, yes? I could use some water, though.” She sets us on the cushions and goes to get some.
Sweet Bun pushes Goldie and Gracey forward, “Valentine, these two about to give you their fingers are Goldie and Gracey. Please present yourselves to our new tiny friend!”
Goldie’s soft, warm voice is always calming. If I had to pick someone to be in charge other than Sephy, Goldie wins. He loves us and is strong enough to protect us.
“hey, valentine. i’m goldie. it’s good to have you safe at home.”
Val shook his finger, then Gracey offered his whole hand to the searching vines.
“m’gracey...you’re a nice, soft little fella...that’s good.” This made Val hum happily. They liked being praised.
A soft purr reached Valentine’s attention, and they turned their head down to it.
“Georgio~” Sephy cooed as she picked up the mini chain. Here was our brave and gentle founder. I guessed Wagner and Starlight were back in the nest boxes.
“heya. felt how happy everybody was and thought i’d join for a minute.” He sounded sleepy. He probably was, if I had to guess.
“geo,” Goldie said softly, “check out our cute new pal.”
“ooh.” He turned and Val followed his movements with their head. “hey there, flower baby. i’m georgio, sephy’s chain. i’m a lamia, so snakey sounds are gonna happen. when they wake up tonight, you can meet starlight and my mate, wagner. they’re sleeping in the closet, but uh...don’t go there.”
“i...i don’t plan to.” Val answers shyly. Georgio purred some more and flopped on Sephy’s hand as it came closer.
“valentine, we’ll set you in the sun for a while now, okay?” I ask, figuring introductions were over.
“Oh. Okay.” they cuddle up to me as I set them against my back, heading to the windowsill. I figure I’ll let them sun and take a nap myself.
(Hi! I’m not dead! Sorry for the SUPER long wait! I wanted to properly go through the adoption process with @dragonessloves to get three new additions to the family. I’ll be trying to update daily again, but be prepared for mini breaks as I adopt even more children. As always, don’t forget to give @vex-bittys the love she deserves! Without her, these drabbles wouldn’t be a thing; can’t have bitty drabbles without a bitty after all! P.S. be prepared for a post dump, as always, I’ve been liking things instead of reblogging so I don’t bury my previous post under an avalanche of stuff. If you don’t want to dig through my mountain of stuff, be sure to check out my Bitty Drabbles blog, it focuses around the drabbles and bitty topics. And without further delay, here’s the newest drabble! :3)
My victory was bittersweet. Yes, Crim knew that he wouldn’t like coming to work with me every day, but that meant that Crim would still be sad while I was at work. Yeah, he had Kin, but Kin wasn’t always great company. He never participated, only watched from a distance with calculating eyes. It was almost like not having anyone there at all. Almost as if on cue, my phone pinged.
I open it up and it’s a message from Vex. Well, message would be too personal. It was more of a poster. There was a new adoption area, though it wasn’t hers. Run by DragonessLoves. I almost overlooked it until I saw that she didn’t just carry lamia. Though Crim had run off to the TV once we got home, he seemed to sense that I was mesmerized by something and came over to my spot at the table. Kin followed close behind.
I lowered my phone screen to look through the available bitties and their bios. Crim seemed hooked. He scrolled through and skipped over the lamia entirely, but he couldn’t stop staring at the mer. I smiled down at him.
“Would you like to start an aquarium, Crim?” He tilted his head. “Think about it. We could get a few mer to keep you and Kin company while I go to work. We could convert your aquarium to house them. Your heat rock and sleeping area can go in the closet. I’m sure Kin would like that too, since he won’t be out in the open anymore.” I looked down at Kin who was staring intently at my phone screen. Crim contemplated carefully before questioning my motives.
“Not replacing?” I waved my hands immediately in dismissal.
“No, of course not! I just don’t want you to be alone while I’m gone for work. I was thinking of getting maybe a calm white? I know how much you like jokes, so you two could be joke buddies. Then maybe a Mother-tee.”
“You’re Mom!” I chuckled and stroked his skull.
“Yes, I know. I’m your mom. That’s why I want to get her. She could be the mom of the tank. That way you don’t need to worry about the Calm White taking me from you. She’s also supposed to be good with jokes.” Crim nodded and I mused, “I don’t really want to put too much technology in there, so maybe instead of a heater, we could get a Toatem. He’d also be like a small light source, so the room won’t get too dark. I know how you like to have the TV on at night.” Crim blushed and I patted his head again. He wasn’t afraid of the dark, it was easy enough to see for him, but he still liked it for comfort.
“Yeah, ok.” It was almost as if those were the magic words. A soft chiming sounded from the backyard, almost like a soft whisper. All three of our heads turned. Kin narrowed his eyes.
“Magic.” Magic? It sounded again, almost like it was calling to us. I picked up the boys and headed towards the sound. Behind the house, hidden behind the blackberry bushes, was a pathway. It shouldn’t have existed, usually there was a brick wall back there, separating our backyard from the neighbors’ but there it was. Wary of the thorns, I entered. Once I could stand, I was in entirely new surroundings. I looked behind me only to see that my yard was gone, replaced by forest. A woman stood before me, looking as if she were expecting us.
“Hello. Beige, correct?” I nodded dumbly. “Right this way, I have just what you’re looking for.” I followed tentatively, looking around. We were walking up to a series of pools. The trees seemed to grow even taller and more imposing over to the right, a symphony of bird calls echoing through the area. To the left was the mouth of a cave, the interior seeming to be lit by grooves in the rock itself. We were stopped at the edge of one of the pools.
“You said you wanted a mother-tee? I must warn you that most do not take kindly to fell bitties such as your chain.” I looked over to Kin resting on my shoulder. He had a glare on his face. Crim didn’t know how to look, he kept turning his head to look at everything.
“Are there any who might set aside their animosity to befriend Crim, here?” Crim suddenly looked up at his name being called. The mysterious woman gestured to the pool we stood before.
“Try asking them yourself, however try not to get too close, the Mother-tees will adopt anything and would be likely to try and add Crim to their list of offspring.” I took her warning close to heart, stepping close to the pools, but not crouching low enough for anyone to grab the Coral from my shoulders. Many furry white heads had already broken the surface. Many were staring at Kin worriedly, however there were a few who only had eyes for Crim.
“Hello there. Would any of you be willing to come home with me? This is Crim, and he needs someone to keep him company during the day when I’m gone. Of course, Kin here lives there too, so if that’ll be a problem, then you shouldn’t come.” A few heads disappeared back under the surface, probably to go back to those they’d adopted, but several continued to stare. Finally, one of the mother-tees hoisted herself out of the water, sitting at the edge of the pool.
“Would you like to come home with us?” She chuckled and patted the hand I offered her.
“My child.” I blushed. She wasn’t talking about Crim. The mysterious woman gave a knowing smile as she began to walk again. I picked up the mother-tee before following.
“The Calm Whites are right over here.” The mother-tee seemed to perk up at this. Before I could bend down to have another meet and greet, the mother-tee leapt from my hands, diving gracefully into the pool. Many of the calm whites moved away, keeping a safe enough distance while also making themselves seem calm and aloof. Though Calm Whites and Mother-Tees are known to get along together according to their bios, mother-tees could be a bit stifling, and Calm Whites like at least some space to themselves.
One calm white didn’t bother moving away, and the mother-tee scooped him right up. He didn’t struggle as she swam him back to us.
“This one. He’s mine.” I smiled and picked them both up.
“Well thanks for helping us choose.” The calm white cracked open one eye, closing it again after taking in the situation. I took that to mean he was ok with going home with us. I turned to the woman. “And the Toatems?” She smiled and nodded, almost gliding through the area to yet another pool
“Be careful. Pick them up by their crater. They are made of lava after all.” I nodded and looked down to the slightly glowing pool. I could see several pairs of eyes staring back up at me. I waved with my one free arm.
“Hello there. I’m Beige. Would any of you like to come home with me? I wanted someone to light and heat up the tank for the other bitties. I’d understand if none of you would be comfortable with that though. Just let me know.” I waited for a few moments, but none of them said anything. Before I could stand again and just leave them be, a small lava ball broke the water’s surface, only to plop back down again. When I looked back, there was a toatem pointing to himself. I smiled as I bent down to scoop him.
The water wasn’t too deep, but it was fairly warm, probably on account of all the other Toatems in the same area. The other Toatems were courteous enough to try and scoot their craters away enough so that I wouldn’t touch them by accident. I held him carefully, my entire arm soaked, but I wasn’t too worried about that. Crim was staring intently at the three new additions to our household. The mysterious woman smiled as she saw how I stared as well.
“It seems everything is in order. You can leave wherever you want. All paths lead to the same place.”
“Wait, what is this place?”
“It’s where I help people find bitties who want homes.”
“Who are you?”
“I thought that was obvious.” She flashed me a toothy grin. “You can call me Dragoness.” DragonessLoves, of course! She gestured to the trees. “If ever you need me, the gateway shall reopen. Do take care though, if any of those bitties gets hurt,” Her pupils, so human before, flashed into dangerous slits, “you can kiss you life goodbye.” Her voice had dropped an octave lower, almost like a growl. Even Kin was too stunned to respond. A blink later and her eyes were once again normal, and as she spoke, so was her voice, almost too cheery after that outburst.
“Now go on, you have a lot to do to get that tank of yours ready, don’t you?” I nodded dumbly, walking to the trees before me. I turned around to ask something more, but the clearing was gone. I quickly turned once more to make sure we were on the right path, but instead of forest, I could see my backyard. I was mindful of the thorns once again and once I stepped out of the tunnel, it was once again a brick wall. I did a double take, and it was the Calm White that snapped me out of it.
“Well that was a turnaround.” I blinked down at him before chuckling at his joke.
“Let’s get you guys inside. We’ll give you the grand tour.”
Hello, I was hoping to adopt some noodles large and small, (I was extremely nervous about sending in an adoption for these guys, I wanted to to fir at least 2 years now 😭) specifically looking for a full size Chain, King, Honey bo, a miniature corny and mayhaps a mamba big or small if they would like. No pressure! *nervously fidgeting with hands and clothes at the counter of the shop, worrying that none would want to be adopted by me, anxiety causing depression to start to kicking in* I was also wondering if it would be possible to get 2 of them into service/emotional support bitties if they can, I don't know I'd you offer those services. I would love to soul bond with any that are willing, it would be wonderful to be able to talk to someone who can understand what I'm truly feeling even when words are difficult for me at times.
(Sorry this took so long)
*Vex smiles kindly at you, listening to your request. She thinks she might have just what you need: a full-sized Chain and King that just got their certification to be Service Bitties. Vex intends to lead you to them, but you haven't gone more than a few steps when you see them. The Chain is dragging the King towards you, and you can feel your SOUL reaching out to him.
*The two lamias stop in front of you. The Chain just smiles, but the King bows elegantly before flaring his hood to show you the skull-shaped markings underneath. You applaud him, relaxing from your spiraling thoughts because both of these giant skeleton snakes are acting so warm and welcoming. Hearing the applause, a miniature Mamba slithers over. He looks you up and down, then joins the Chain and King as they follow you back to the front desk. How convenient!
*You plan to sign papers for the three lamias following you (although the Chain is now carrying the Mamba due to his small size), then search for a Honey Bo, but when you get to the counter, you see Vex trying to budge a full-sized Honey Bo snoozing on the adoption forms wearing what appears to be a miniature Corny as a crown.
*When he sees you trying to hide a giggle, the Corny winks and pats the Honey Bo on his skull. The Honey Bo doesn't even open his eyes, but he does fish a sheaf of adoption forms out of his hoodie pocket and hand them to you. There are exactly five. How did he know? You aren't one to question fate, so you fill out all five forms and leave the shop with your newly adopted lamias.
Hi, can I get a lamia matchup? (If not it's totally ok!!)
I'm anxious, with autism and ADHD. I have brown hair and hazel eyes and I'm average height. I can get pretty loud on accident. I love fantasy books, fun makeup, and cute things. And I'm a Sagittarius
(I apologize for the long wait)
My recommendations for you are:
Papython (UT!Papyrus): Papythons don't mind a loud adopter, and they will appreciate your Sagittarius traits. Papythons are an excellent lamia for people with autism, anxiety, and ADD because they are patient, encouraging and kind. A Papython would let you put makeup on him.
King (UF!Papyrus): Kings are protective lamias who love to be read to, and fantasy is their favorite genre! Kings will always try to make sure you feel safe, especially if he knows you're anxious. A King would be curious about makeup, but he doesn't exactly do "cute."
Chain (SF!Papyrus): A Chain shares a unique bond with their adopter that helps them to know about that person's emotional state. This makes Chains a popular choice for adopters with anxiety or autism. Chains are very laidback lamias who just want to spend time with their adopter. A Chain would let you put makeup on him.
*Please let me know if you'd like an adoption scenario. There is not a second wait since you've had your matchup already.
