Gotta love Amanda Ripley’s steadfast dedication to booting up every single clunky, slow-loading computer she can find just so that she can read boring emails while she is actively being hunted alive by xenomorphs.

Ok so I thought you might appreciate this: my mom shuffled into the living room the other night to show me a show she was watching on her phone bc "this actor reminds me of the android guy, he could almost be his son!" I asked her if she meant Evil Bilbo Baggins and she said no, so by process of elimination I knew she meant Bishop. She showed me the phone and it was Anthony Howell. I asked later what happened in the show and she said "he wasn't the bad guy but he died." Typical.
Was it that one British detective show? (......not that that narrows it down much).
But wow that’s....I don’t see any resemblance but that is very very amusing and I’d probably have done that awkward cough-laugh-choke-thing if I were in your shoes for that.

It is sometimes written that way.
just finished watching Twister again for the first time since childhood and I'm so hyped about it I wanna go stick my head in a tornado.
can we PLEASE appreciate this hilariously specific warning:
So I read Howl's Moving Castle (absolutely inhaled it in like two sittings), and here's my weird take: this book would adapt absolutely flawlessly into a point and click adventure game.
- most of the driving plot points are Sophie interacting with inanimate objects in absurdly specific ways
- the characters teleport everywhere
- non-Sophie characters tend to either stay put, or they're active only for brief "cutscenes"
I could go on about this for waaay too long but you get the point. Howl's Moving Castle is an adventure game in my head now.
the latest installment in a popular video game franchise is released. the game looks cool and there's lots to do, but when you get to the final boss chamber... there's just rat? just a normal rat sitting there. you don't have to fight it or anything.
game theory youtubers grapple for meaning. reddit argues eternally. the game devs' only response to the mass confusion is a short statement clarifying that the rat is a "deliberate story element" and not a glitch.
