One of the first photos he ever took of her. She's fixing her hair in one of the broken mirrors in the saloon, and part of the shot is blocked by the wood of the wall, but there's enough visible to get a good look at her. He doesn't know shit about her yet. He's repelled by her. He's fascinated by her. She's got that all-American look to her that has always drawn him in. Cheerleader, bubblegum blonde, pink and perky but with a roughness to her that Danny wants to get to know. He wants to run his thumb over her personality and figure out why the Entity chose her. For a girl pulled into a death realm, she seems downright cheerful about it. She stands up tall, arms up to tie her hair and leave her ribs exposed. He wants to cut her open, but he can't. Not yet.

He doesn't know what she's doing here; never figured it out. She's with Mikaela, sitting around a fucking chalk circle of all things. Mikaela's pointing at something, but she's not really the point of the photo. Juliet has shadows under her eyes here, like she hasn't been sleeping. It's the first flaw he's managed to spot in the time since she appeared in the realm. It makes him want to see more. Why hasn't she been sleeping? Why are her twin tails slightly askew today? Is it nightmares? Is she worried? He vowed to follow her until she went to sleep, vowed to see for himself what she got up to. As for the magic — he gets it. They're in a fucking demon realm, magic is real, but the witchy shit? He still thinks it's nonsense. Absolute shit. But it would explain the talking head.

Danny knows now that there's a fire that's in her that's rare, even in the battle-hardened survivors. In this photo, her feet are off the ground, face red as Michael held her neck, trying to get the right angle to stick his knife right through her in that way that he does. Danny doesn't understand why he's so meticulous about it, but that's not really the point right now. The point is, he thought she was dead here. Blood drips all down her arms and covers half of her head, soaking her perfect cheerleader hair. She should have died here. No one gets out from Michael's grip like that. No one. But that's the beauty of the photo. It looks like she's dead, but Danny knows that just seconds after this photo was taken, she broke out. If he hadn't seen it for himself, he wouldn't have believed it, but now he knows: she is so much more than she gets credit for.
