as  startled  as  marko  was  to  hear  it ,  michael  had  surprised  himself  when  the  thought  first  struck  him .    both  by  way  of  knowing  the  risk  of  it …    and  how  much  he  wanted  it  himself .    leaning  into  the  fingers  brushing  along  his  cheek ,  michael  nodded  once  as  he  forced  a  bit  of  a  smirk .    “    can  you  live  with  me  sticking  to  you ?    ”    it  was  a  weak  attempt  to  add  levity  to  a  potentially  dangerous  situation ,  but  necessary .    he  raised  a  hand  to  rest  it  over  marko’s ,  squeezing  gently  before  leaning  in  to  kiss  the  vampire .

marko’s eyes widened at michael. what the hell was this man doing? was he leaning in. hazel eyes sifted from side to side. he had to lean away for a moment; just a moment. but marko’s eyes softened and his hand moved through michael’s dark locks. fingers twisted into his locks before pulling his head towards him; smashing his lips against michael’s.

whatever  fun  there  was  in  killing ,  michael  couldn’t  see  it .    not  now  and  surely  not  if  he  had  been  fully  turned  into  a  vampire ,  so  he  couldn’t  help  but  wince  slightly  at  the  thought  of  it .    but  his  composure  was  regained  before  marko  finished .    “    and  there’s  nothing  feeding  from  me  would  do  for  you ?    ”    the  question  that  had  circled  in  his  mind  finally  came  out ,  though  he  was  sure  he  already  knew  the  answer .    if  marko  started ,  there  was  a  slim  chance  of  him  stopping  before  draining  him  dry  and  no  guarantee  that  it  would  amount  to  much  should  be  stop  in  time .    but  he  had  to  offer ,  had  to  do  something  other  than  accept  the  fate  laid  at  their  feet .

marko was taken back, his eyes wide at michael’s offer. “you---” he was speechless for once. “you want me to feed from you? you know what could happen?” he moved closer to michael before a hand reached up to let fingers run down his cheek. “you’d have to be by my side.. always.... do you want to be by my side, michael? can you live with that?”

        Watching Marko kill was always a sight to behold. It was art in motion, and David never tired of it. The youngest of his group was completely unhinged, and something about that amused the older vampire to no end. He watched, enjoying the show for a moment, until he saw the woman get up to run. She turned and slammed right into him. A blood curdling scream left her and David grabbed her wrist.  ❝ Where do you think you’re going ? The party just got here. ❞  His lips twisted into a smile that revealed murderous fangs. His eyes turned a sinister red and yellow. He didn’t bite her, though. Instead, he spun her around, holding her back to his chest and brought his lips to her ear. She struggled and screamed, but he held her tight.  ❝ This is a gift. For all the times he treated you like some whore under the boardwalk. Enjoy his pain as your final act on this earth. ❞

it was a satisfied moan that left marko’s lips as the blood rushed into his mouth. the man’s screams slowly grew softer and softer against his hand as marko drained him of life. the whole time, hazel eyes stared at david and when he heard the last heartbeat of the man, he pulled away before drinking the last drop; throwing his corpse onto the ground. a wicked howl of laughter left him. god! the fucking rush. “i could just fuck right now!”

in  a  moment  that  should  have  ended  in  one  of  their  deaths ,  it  was  almost  poetically  morbid  for  it  to  have  been  replaced  with  intimacy  instead .    the  way  marko’s  hand  moved  and  his  thumb  ran  along  michael’s  lips  sent  a  shiver  up  his  spine ,  his  heart  pounding  hard  in  his  ears  for  a  few  beats  before  subsiding  as  the  contact  ceased .    neither  could  do  what  they  felt  they  were  supposed  to ,  no  matter  the  sense  that  would  back  up  those  actions .    for  a  moment ,  michael  was  silent  as  he  mulled  over  the  other’s  words .    he  wasn’t  willing  to  leave  santa  carla ,  especially with  marko  dropping  bodies  left  and  right ,  but  he  couldn’t  bring  himself  to  kill  the  vampire .    as  he  sorted  through  his  thoughts ,  michael’s  gaze  drifted  to  the  side  and  then  back .    “    do  you  need  to  kill  someone  to  satisfy  your  thirst ?    ”

he could hear the rush of his heartbeat.... he was lured to him. the way his blood rushed through his body, his mouth watered. it wouldn’t take  much effort to plunge his fangs into michael and drink him dry. no effort at all... just he couldn’t bring himself to do it. instead, his eyes came to lock with his at his words. it took a moment for marko to reply for he did. “no... but not killing takes the fun out of it. and draining a whole body dulls the thirst for the night.... i’d need to feed on multiple to let them live...”

marko’s  words  only  added  to  the  ache  and  sting  that  was  already  making  a  home  in  his  chest ,  deepening  a  wound  he  tried  healing  any  way  he  could .    a  pointless  effort .    his  eyes  closed  as  the  words  sank  in ,  leaning  into  the  hand  at  his  cheek  without  realizing  his  actions .    could  have .    there  was  not  point  thinking  about  what  could  have  been  as  there  was  no  way  to  get  any  of  it  back ,  for  either  of  them .    taking  a  deep  breath ,  michael  let  out  a  sigh  as  one  of  his  hands  reached  up  to  place  itself  over  marko’s ,  squeezing  gently .    “    you  gonna  kill  me  now ?    ”    was  there  any  other  outcome  to  this  meeting ?

marko stared into michael’s sapphire eyes with his own, silent. a deadly thing for him. his eyes lowered but the hand remained. he’d fantasized snapping michael’s neck over and over; draining him dry and letting him die slowly. perhaps even throw him off the cliff and let his body smash against the rocks. but--- marko couldn’t do it. his other hand came and ran a finger slowly down michael’s bottom lip. “i can’t.... no matter how much i’ve fantasized it....” his hand slowly dropped from michael’s cheek; already missing the sensation. “leave santa carla, michael. because i won’t..... and you will have to kill me... because i won’t stop killing... ever. you know the thirst... i deal with it every second of every waking moment.... and paul isn’t here to stop me this time...”
