Chakra Gathering
The Chakra Gathering is a network of like-minded individual, organizers, mystics, visionaries, heart-felt enthusiasts and normal-everyday people that transcend borders, embrace new ideas and choose to gather in order to promote, produce and implement positive, and sustainable change in the world through art, music, dance, prayer, ceremony and compassionate communication.
We will embody many locations and oversee the formation of Non Governmental Organizations that focus on cultural and environmental sustainability.
Intention
Our mission is to provide a space where a diverse group of people can gather with a single intention: Peaceful and Harmonious Unity! We will observe compassion for our cultural differences and enter this space with an open-mind while we celebrate life in a sustainable fashion. Moreover, We will organize with local indigenous communities by creating an NGO focused on sustaining traditional culture as well as implementing environment programs in the area each gathering is held. We will leave the areas cleaner than we find them!
By observing local customs and traditions we will enhance our experience, preserve local ideas and support indigenous culture while moving forward with confidence into a new era. All events will be done in a style that's as least invasive on the environment as possible. All proceeds of the events will stay in the local areas and will go towards achieving the goals of the NGOs created by ChakraGathering.
Chakra2012 Illumination
The Chakra Gathering that will be held on the Island of the Sun, on 12-12-12, is nestled in beautiful Lake Titicaca, Bolivia; the Earth's 2nd Chakra, and will be welcoming the Earth's kundalini energy into it's new home by holding space at the time the Maya calendar reaches its last phase, Gregorian date December 21, 2012.
This event asks its participants to embrace in the creation process and to be introspective. It also fosters many full-immersion activities such as weeklong capoeira training, yoga exercises, plant medicine exploration, cultural immersion possibilities and much more.
This event truly has something for everyone. From Theatre Camps, Dance Classes, Sound Production Seminars, Sacred Ceremonies, Plant Medicine Exploration, Late-Night Dancehall to Live Art and Music.
3-days of initiation and acclimation
This 13-DAY event opens with a private ceremony held by Aymara elders on the 11th. to initiate the event into it's new home. Early-bird entry will be allowed at this time. On the 12th, we will begin the day at sunrise with a synchronized global peace prayer at 11:11 GMT. We will then get settled into our camps and acclimate to the island's high-altitude and energy in preparation for the new moon on the 13th by offering holistic seminars, language exchange conversation sessions, yoga, tea lounge area, local ceremonies and tranquility. On the 13th we will finish settling into our desired camps and prepare ourselves for weeks worth of personal and communal development through art and expression.
7-days of celebration and processing
For the next 7 days we'll be able to apply ourselves in various areas of the island, each of which will foster a different vibe and activities. In the spirit of this year's event we will represent the flow of the Earth's kundalini energy by moving through the seven-chakra locations on the island while sharing cultural ideas and participating in traditional ceremonies as if we were a serpent of light illuminating each chakra on it's way to enlightenment. One's involvement in this is up to there own desire and ambition as for there will be many opportunities to explore the island and to feel the vibe in which it holds.
We will also be representing a yin and yang philosophy while hosting a diverse array of beings. While some prefer to participate in ceremonies, do morning yoga and gaze at the stars at night others might wish to dance into the early morning. One's own perspective of what is light or dark is their own; we acknowledge the diversity in humanity and have designed this event in a way that there is plenty of space between all the activities to provide an authentic experience for each portion of the event.
3-days of sealing the meditation
Chakra2012 will be observing it's 2nd synchronized global prayer at 11:11 GMT on the 21st of December, the last moment in the Maya calendar cycle. We will hold this vibe for 3-days, much like the opening ceremonies. There will be no amplified music on the island during this period as we seal our event with a natural, peaceful vibe. These days of closure are the most anticipated days in our recent history. For this reason we will be holding on to this vibe with absolute dedication to our mission: To Raise, Receive and Be A Part of the Illumination presented to us at this time.
Event Integrity
Our integrity in the events held is important to us; if we are providing a traditional ceremony or seminar of some sort, the maestro and/or instructor of the event will be from that tradition or have sufficient background in the subject in order to provide us with accurate information during the learning process. We will also be utilizing a edu-tainment philosophy that will allow for creative think-tanks thus creating an "each one teach one" atmosphere.
Event Infrastrucure
There are 7 locations on the island that will be used to represent each Chakra. Each location ranges from approx. 30 minutes to 2 hours away from each other and is accessible by hiking and/or by boat. Boat travel is reserved for the elderly and people who have a hard time traversing the rouged terrain the island has to offer.
There will be a program of events that will list all scheduled events as well as each chakra location will have a chronological list of events that will be held in that location.
Event Registration
Registration for this event will be held in Copacabana, Bolivia and shortly after there will be transportation arranged for entry into Chakra2012.
Upon arriving, one will choose whether they prefer to camp in an area that's quiet in the evenings or in an area that host's an all-night dance party. These areas are approximately 2 hours walking distance from each other and participants are free to hike their camps from one area to the other if they choose. It's also possible to arrange transportation for an additional fee to the other Chakra location if so desired!
2 main locations used for tent camping:
1st Chakra Muladhara - Root
This location will be hosted by the local Aymara residence. In this location, we will enjoy traditional culture through local customs such as dance, art, music, ceremony, language studies and food. This location is recommended for families seeking peace and quite as there is NO-AMPLIFIED MUSIC ALLOWED. This area will have a children's-zone and host quiet star-filled nights alongside of beautiful Lake Titicaca. This is the base camp, as it represents the "Root" of the event. There will also be additional activities such as: Yoga, Capoeira and Guided Tours by Aymara locals to the other Chakras.
5th Chakra Wishuddha - Throat
In this location one will find an array of activities that last well into the early morning. From a chill-area to all-night dance party, this area represents the throat chakra and utilizes the transformation of energy through words and images. Large-Scale Art Installations, Sound Systems, Tea Lounge, Workshops, Camping and Food will fill the bay with all colors, shapes and forms.

Other Activites
Each day there will be activities though out each chakra location. There will be a list of activities available on the web site as well as printed on location at the time of the event. Some activities include daily tours of the Chakras by Aymara locals while they discuss local tradition and relevance regarding these sacred places, Yoga & Capoeira Classes, Local Ceremonies, Theatre Workshops, Language Classes, Meditation, Sound Production Seminars, Art Therapy and much more

Other activities that are NOT INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE will also be available during Chakra2012 Illumination. In order to participate in these activities one will have to reserve their place in advance to insure their involvement. These events are limited in size and available at a first-come-first-serve basis.

Tickets will be available online and at selected outlets throughout South America. Early-Bird Tickets are available and increase in price as we get closer to the event date. Day-tickets will also be available as well as specific event packages will include *additional activities and more comfortable living environments.
Additional Information
The proceeds of this event go towards environmental programs on the island and the greater Lake Titicaca area. We will also be offering educational programs for volunteers, observing local traditions and ceremonies, Holding seminars and an experience sure to be remembered by all who gather.
