ah how am i just now seeing this!! 

1. What inspired you to write the fic this way?

mainly conversations i had with my good friend @deadantmen, who encouraged my need for Luca/Timmy content. :) the whole fic was basically written as an excuse for the A/T/L scene at the end of chapter 3 LMAO whoops

5. What part was hardest to write?

a) the middle bit with Luca’s family. i spent a lot of time writing out all their backstories and motivations and relationships just to try and give everyone good reasons for doing what they do and being where they are. i know that those parts were boring or confusing to some people, which is fair, and tbh i agonized for a long time over whether anyone would actually care enough to slog through it. but i’m grateful they did!! so that was def the hardest part; some of it was such a grind that i honestly wasn’t sure i’d make it through. i scrapped and rewrote those parts a lot. 

b) any of the sex scenes, specifically the ones involving Luca. i have gotten better (Mafiosos is a big reason why) but for me writing sex scenes is almost always like pulling teeth. i get weirdly anxious about it. and yet i still do it anyways…. 🤔🤔

i know you didn’t ask this, but the easiest parts to write were the beginning and the end. :P i wrote the rooftop scene almost immediately after writing chapter two. 

10. Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story?

i was looking thru pictures of Timmy and Luca and thinking about how under-utilized that ship is, even though they have so much chemistry (i’m a huge ho for the mentor/student dynamic). same with Armie and Luca. then i started to think about AUs, and the kind of fic i would love to read with the three of them. and while i think that love triangles are fun, i also think they should almost always be solved by polyamory. yay polyamory!! and so Mafiosos was born. :’)

thor: the dark world. everything is red, yellow, green and brown and i hate coloring scenes from it

idk but it bugs me when makers take bright and colorful shows & movies (esp animated ones) and make them super pale

i don’t like to gif from anything less than 720p, but sometimes you have to make exceptions if the only version of a video is less than that. *side eyes a lot of my 2inproud era!timmy gif sets*

29. Have you ever posted a set, realized you made a mistake later but it was already too late

oh sure! i always fix it as soon as i realize, but someone almost always reblogs the messed up version from me before the fixed one goes live so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

now i tend to let sets stay in my drafts and i review them in ‘real time’ for a little while to make sure they’re right before i actually post them

36. Do you gif with something specific in mind or do you just wing it

i usually have a specific idea in mind, but i try to stay flexible enough to alter it slightly if i need to. this set, for example, started out as a set about thor’s armors throughout his films, but as i was doing them, it just wasn’t working out. then @spacefloozy​ had the brilliant suggestion of just making it about thor’s massive ORMS, so that’s what i ended up doing!
