Deep Machine with Opposite Box and Chalaxy at The End. 01.11.2014
Chalaxy's stage set up was so unbelievable! They put tons effort into giving it that "heady" vibe, color changing tape included. Check out their newest music video for standout single, "My Best," here, and you can relive their performance at The End.
Opposite Box, whose name is growing in the festival circuit, really packed the dance floor with their experimental sounds. These Chattanooga natives kept everyone engaged with eye candy and interaction with the crowd as everyone circled to watch the trombone jam sesh.
Deep Machine, notorious for their live shows, closed out the night and their career as a band, with a badass performance! Knowing this was Deep Machine's last show, their loyal fan base filled the place to show their support and gratitude for all the awesome tunes and memories!

Tour Jamz | Day 1 (Ames, IA)
We kicked off our tour yesterday and headed up to one of our favorite cities to play: Ames, IA! This time we threw down the tunes at DG's Tap House (first time playing there and it's way cool). As we were unloading our gear in the alley, I (Jeff) realized I was a total dingus and forgot my pedal board so I hope that qualifies as the one obligatory forgotten tour item... besides my underwear (seriously, I also did forget to bring underwear besides the ones I'm wearing). Luckily, Andy from Chalaxy was a champ and let me use his pedals. If only he had some extra pairs of Hanes...
Speaking of Chalaxy, they're way cool and from Nashville and also total dreamboats! They opened up the night and started off with some rad jams that really reminded me of Flaming Lips and then calmed it down with a spacy MGMT-esque song that took me back to Oracular Spectacular and the summer of '08. Very chill. They finished off their set with a KILLER cover tune of our mutual friend, MR NASTI!
We were up next and had a blast. Played a couple new songs and also resurrected an old one, War Brides and added a super br00tal ending to it. We also met and worked with Adam, one of the nicest, fun to work with sound guys we've run across in a while. On that note, the whole crew working at Dg's was the best! All around hustler and Ames legend, Nate Logsden was slinging drinks and the one and only Jay Parry was working the door!
Annalibera finished off the night in style and played Dreams by The Cranberries which was the crowd favorite of the night and got the kids on their feet. I saw these guys a month ago at 80/35 and am really looking forward to seeing what they've got up their sleeves for this coming year.
We had one final experience that merits being written about. On the way home, our (very large) trailer came loose after going across some train tracks, leaving the back of our van with some battle wounds. Oops. We're hanging at our friends, the Fontana's who were gracious enough to let us crash at their place and are heading up to Cedar Falls tonight to play The Hub with The Nadas. We've been told there will be two or even three HD cameras filming the action. Kinda wish there would be ten or twelve but I guess we'll settle.
