"So... I was trying to develop something for a Mystic Code, I was hoping if you were..."

The intern was approaching the Master from the Wandering Sea quite embarrassed, cursing the person that had told her to "go see if the Master is available to test drive."

The reason was the differences between magecraft philosophy. Maybe such a kind of magus wouldn't look kindly to the type of technology Chaldea was especially keen on. Or maybe not, because she had been working here for a while. But the truth was they had never talked about magus philosophy until now.

The man the intern was looking at had something about it. Surely, because he was a Servant, there had to be something to him, or else he wouldn't be special enough to become engraved as a Hero. Oh, maybe it was sort of what you would call a stench of death, that permeated her nose once she remembered who he was, some executioner from France.

Yet, she sat by him, believing that maybe she shouldn't feel too bad sitting next to a killer. Discriminating him because of that would be hypocritical after all. “Hey.”

Chaldea was still in a surreal ambiance after Goetia had finally been defeated. A whole year had gone by without anything existing, and now that the outer world was a thing again, Ayako had to face it eventually. But before that, maybe she would take the time to look at that amazing person that saved the world.

"Hey!... hum, heh, what are you going to do now when you get outside?"

“Oh?” the small mythical animal had simply just climbed to her shoulder.

She was surprised to get this kind of attention from it. She thought she would just be ignored. “So you’re piloting me I guess, okay. We could invade the kitchen then.”

Things were scary in Chaldea. After everything that had passed, after all that Master had done for her and the rest of humanity, everyone was going to be locked up. She was scared, terrified by the prospect of that.

She could only think about how the people at the spiritron hacking boards, how AkashicMeteor, were right in some way. She felt a grudge towards the organization that was being unjust with everyone. The Association was a brake on progress. She was sure of that at that moment, and for the first time in years, she felt hatred. She couldn't trust that pink haired lady, it was just... it was like they had decided to sent the caricature of an aristocratic prick Ayako imagined most high-ranked people in the association to be.

Now all she had was this cell, waiting for her turn to be interrogated. Why did cells have to be this cold? She could only clutch herself on the corner, without even her phone, or a model to keep her company. Even the Servants were something she was missing right now.

For how long has Ayako looked at this Bleached Earth? The amount of time seemed as long as the infinite spread of white outside the Storm Border.

At first things had been so hectic, as the intern had to learn how to adapt to this new "workplace". It was a marvelous technical marvel considering it was only possible with the use of divine tech from the Fifth Lostbelt and Sion's Servant. It seemed so beyond Ayako's human capabilities to understand at first, but she was trying to make her best to keep up so she could help the alchemist and the rest of the staff.

But the person that Ayako kept on her mind for a lot of the time was Miss Ardere, the Master that seemed to be going on longer and longer missions as the quest to restore the PHH kept going.

"Hey..." she tried to be casual, to not be too shy for once, "I hope my adjustments to your Mystic Codes were useful..." she made small talk, trying to scan the Master on her condition. Hopefully she hadn't gotten too hurt from the most recent outing.

There she was, getting ready for deployment, adjusting the gloves of her new Chaldea-Issued Mystic Code, taking so long at it that it seemed that she was just fidgeting with them instead.

Of course, even if she had been training non-stop since arriving to Novum Chaldea, suddenly getting the assignment to fix a small issue with an already resolved Singularity was proven to be more scary that it looked. But that had been the promise she had made. She wanted to support everyone, including [That Person] that had done so much fighting for Humanity until know.

With how absorbed she was, she wouldn't notice anyone, even her own Servant, in the room.
